Thanks for the review! Is the Tesla nav able to work side by side with this CarPlay setup by providing real time traffic, music/audio streaming via the Tesla UI or does the CarPlay setup kill the data connection to the car?
As far as I’m aware they can run along side each other

Just a question. So you need to turn on wifi on your iphone everytime you want to drive with carplay ? As I understand you cannot automate this ?

Indeed you do. If your car connects to the home it will always prioritise this
Will it work if the hot spot is not on because due to the data plan
It needs the internet unfortunately
Is carplay better than the Tesla system?
They’re both excellent systems, both offer something different. Tesla is great with route planning with the car but CarPlay gives you variety. Both together it’s a great package
Rubish peach of kit as it doesn't work with a Data SIM Card in the Nano SIM Card Slot so need to use a mobile phone as hotspot while having used a SMARTY Data SIM for years in a Huawei modem as Data point in the Tesla. Have the Data only SIM Card with 60Gb Data for £10
