    Just found a really nice hidden feature. While getting ppf applied on the new Model Yp, my wife and I were both curious about the goings on at the installers shop. So was looking at the cameras quite often when I was out of town. My wife was doing the same. So the hidden feature is that you can be cut off by your sentry mode by watch the video too much. This help insure that you won’t be using a lot of bandwidth of teslas and cost them too much money or bandwidth. Once you are cut off, it is no longer possible to check the security of your car for the rest of the day. This is extremely helpful when curious about your car when you see the door open later that night. You will remain curious.

    A really important feature a lot of people don’t know - (I learned by google while in trouble) is the small button on the underside of the charge cover. I couldn’t get a supercharger to release and discovered via google, the button. Press it once (doesn’t feel like it did anything) and it will force it to “white” and you can release. Happened at a supercharger with at least 3 other Tesla owners who had no idea. Thanks for a great video!

    I am not sure where do i report issues i think need improvement on my Model 3. #1 the driver side wiper washer is set too high on the blade or there should be an additional lower nozzle. When driving with washer on the lower part of the windshield does no get any wash. #2 i have a blue color Modell 3 with black door handles. You cannot see the handles when dark- at night. This leads to fumbling around at night which is awkward and can be dangerous if someone is stalking you, The handles should be lit or glow when approaching or pop out like the original model S. Maybe you can do a post / video to Tesla criticizing. thanks

    #10 is so dangerous in Europe since as I've seen several times the car read not only the relevant signs but also other ones that are not actually for the cars on my road, going from 130 to 30 kmh can be quite a problematic change to deal with on a not even so busy road

    Most new cars have the automatic, turning off the turn signals if you just slightly push on the stick when changing a lane and using a blinker, but don’t push it all the way it will blink three times

    Don’t mean to hate, but many Tesla videos talk about very normal features in the car as of it is cutting edge technology while it is something super standard everywhere else (e.g. electronic parking breaks)

    • @bW9taeH4
      @bW9taeH4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Given the nature of EVs, there was essentially nothing analogous to putting an automatic transmission in park. There needed to be something like this, since there's no other option. Combining it with pressing P on the drive selector was necessary. Then Tesla added hill hold, which later became hold, which meant that even if you didn't put the car in park at all, it would not roll and would put itself in park by itself if you simply got out. Before Tesla added Hold, the car might have rolled back an inch or so, if you weren't on completely level ground and tried to get out. But it's not likely that a person would have done so, given that it would have been rolling as soon as the person let go of the brake pedal.
      So yes, Tesla's overall approach to that and many other things is far more innovative. There are also many things that were common in other cars that took Tesla years to catch up on, from basic things like showing the expected path of the car in the rear view camera to displaying tire pressures. The innovative part was being able to add these features with OTA updates, even if it took years to catch up on some of them. Much of this won't be relevant to owners of a 3/Y because by then Tesla had already caught up on lots of stuff, but don't underestimate the innovation of OTA updates, and the use of updates to add features rather than to correct problems only in the event of a recall and only when somebody takes a car to a service station due to a recall notice.

  • @jchoops7yt

    Nicely done! Just FYI: pressing and holding the P button makes the icon appear, but isn’t necessary for applying the “e brake.” The e brake is on whenever the car is in Park-it’s how Park works since there’s no multi-speed transmission. The e brake IS Park, and it actually just uses the rear calipers-same ones that squeeze when you press the brake pedal.

    • @123pathTube
      @123pathTube ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Are you sure? I feel like there is an audible engagement and a more solid feel when manually activating the e-brake.

    • @bW9taeH4
      @bW9taeH4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      True and the "hidden" (although technically not hidden since it's documented) feature is that when you hold down the brake, and the car goes into Hold mode, you can simply get out of the car. Hold keeps it from rolling away, and getting out will cause the car to put itself in Park and apply the parking brake.

    • @bW9taeH4
      @bW9taeH4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@123pathTube In order to keep the car from rolling away, and to keep things from failing if the car loses power or anything else, the parking brake is essentially screwed closed when it's applied. It's done by a motor. If the parking brake is applied, the car won't move. Tesla doesn't make it clear what happens when the button is held and there's a lot of debate about it.
