Nah I don't really think much people would use such an overly complicated system. Besides how much it fits this exact type of gameplay and lore, I'm pretty much sure if some company wanted to do something like it, a good old loophole like doing something that isn't technically an infringement of copyright is the least problem for a big company with good lawyers. I think it's just a matter of time

To be honest, there aren’t many games that give the ability to live a power fantasy. The only other one I’ve found is Warframe, but…Warframe’s power fantasy is a bit…meh. I mean sure, you can cleave and gun your way through entire armies in minutes, or even seconds, and there’s nothing the enemy can do but await their inevitable death from a war machine of a bygone era, with power beyond their comprehension, but…thats the problem - you hit that peak, and there’s _literally_ *NOTHING* the enemy can do; they just die. Shadow of War is different. There is no “peak.” No matter how strong you become, how many fortresses you’ve captured, a random uruk slave can still beat you up enough times that they become an overlord.

This whole time I never knew it was possible for a spy to fail like that. Getting nabbed by the warlord and killed? Sure, but dying during the scene where you're supposed to have them destroy a fortress's weakness? Thats something i've never seen before.
I loved this game too. If i recall correctly I had gotten Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War and all dlc in a bundle on Steam. It was a year or 2 after Shadow of War came out so it didn't have any of that micro transaction stuff that got it so much hate in reviews. It made me want to watch the Lotr trilogy which i hadn't bothered with before.
Imagine if the micro transactions had not been there from the start, this game would now be remembered as a classic. Instead people raise their eye-brows when I tell them this is one of my favorites I come back to every few months. So few people have actually played it, but everyone's heard it was a bad game.

For example, Generation Zero is a fun game, but everyone says it's terrible because they used reviews when the game was first out. Nobody like Gameranx comes back to it, so all you see are bad reviews and say "Hey, this game must suck." Really sad that SOW is kind of like that.
Be careful bc it ruined many other action games for me. Like I got GoW before this and was mostly enjoying it. Then I got this, binged it for weeks, and now years later I still can't really go back to the clunky boring combat in GoW.

Its unfortunate they copyrighted the system they used to make this game when they basically went off radar, its also annoying at the same time they did such a petty thing just to spite their own fans from getting games similar from other developers and game/general franchises. Also semi unfortunate you can't actually fully plan on what your spies in a fort can do or what to sabatoge outside of them destroying the walls. Would've liked it if they could do a tad bit more outside of all that.

There could be a game that expands greatly on the concept but instead WB games wanted to put minimal investment into it and then copyright it to stop future games from outdoing them. Depends on how long u take to defeat the warcheifs and either trun them on ur side or put another in their place so it could take something for 1h to 3h or 4h if ur planning to make them all spys and to turn some other caps for the assault if u don't have good ones in the garrison
Like... If you take your time with it by killing the entire board and then putting in the orcs at your level, 2-3 hours, but if you throw in whomever then just 1 will suffice
Cinematically speaking, this game was amazing. I preferred the real-time strategy format of BFMEII though. If they could have combined that game with the cinematics of this, they would have had some game. Something along the lines of Warhammer I-III.
Bought this game because from what I saw it reminds me of AS Odyssey, plus is has snow somewhere, haven't played it yet though. Wish there were females in the game.

I got this game for free from the monthly ps+ and never played games like this. Once I started playing I couldn't put it down so many fun features, game graphics and the hilarity of the Orcs is unmatched in any other game. Thumbs up for me.
Played 150+ hours in this game. The game keeps getting better until the late game but it sometimes feels like a chore or grinding to come to that point in the game. Story and quest systems are a bit bad too, it fails to keep player engaged in the story. But the nemesis system is so cool that you can just play days after days just for that nemesis system. Nemesis system single handedly carries the entire game. Hence, the game heavily evolves around it so no problem here. But as i said, travelling through the maps and doing different questlines each times is a bit boring. If you love hack n slash games you will like this one too.

It's because of the nemesis system. The nemesis system is where anything can happen at anytime like where an orc you recruited can betray you or like where you put a orc to infiltrate the fortress but gets exposed and killed. It's such an amazing system with so many unexpected possibilities.

No there's just an optional area far to the East which you can fight to claim. Talion or Celebrimbor state on your arrival to that area there is no need to take this area but the game doesn't stop you. This is also the area the dlc involving Barandor takes place.
Imagine if WB didn't vice grip the nemesis system and actually shared it with all. Imagine the increase in quality.

God, Shindrâm run by the Feral Tribe looks fantastic. Fits much better into the desert than it does decorated with Marauder marble and gold.
I prefer Outlaw Tribe for Mad Max based look

When you make them a spy they are red not blue. But since he died as a spy he stayed red instead of changing back to blue like the others did
