I like to think that the orcs depicted in statues and photos for abilities are the “founders” of the tribes, the first orcs to create the fashion, ideology and culture
I like to think the stormbringer is the founder of the dark tribe once loyaling following the bright lord to being betrayed and now revering the dark lord
It is worth noting Mystic region will spawn elemental Graugs. Their element will depend on the region….poison Graug for Nurnen, ice Graug for Seregost, etc… Mystic totems also have an increased chance of spawning Zog, unless being cleansed regularly. It is also rumoured there’s an increased chance of spawning cursed captains and necromancers, but nobody’s been able to prove that consistently beyond doubt…
Honestly i think the last one is right, ive had 2 naturally spawning necromancers when i would always use mystic tribe specifically undead captains and every since i stopped using the mystic fortress ive never had a naturally spawning orc
Man I’ve been playing this game consistency since launch and never made the connection that mystic spawns elemental graugs lmao, just figured they were rare asf in the regions I didn’t use mystic
Well his stuff does show up pretty close to the top when you look up the games, and I think it's where he got a lot of his following from, before then it would have been the sonic games. I doubt it's true, but it would be pretty cool if the main reason the Slaughter tribe was created was because of ToG's experiences with the Blood Axe and the Blood Storm.
@@eternalisolation6106 "I think it's where he got a lot of his following from" Can't speak for anyone else, but I found him through the Shadow of Mordor videos. Good times
The statue of the Dark Tribe isn't Sauron, it's actually Morgoth. The master of Sauron whom corrupted the elves into the first orcs. But it's easy to see why at first glance you would think it was Sauron. Sauron took much inspiration from his former master.
17:50 I always thought the terror tribe were using the skin to make a Nazgûl helmet or a homage to Sauron’s helmet itself. With the wooden spikes leading above the eyes and head as the spikes of Sauron’s mask. Including the downward spikes on the sides of the mouth.
Great video. One thing I've noticed, is that the orc statues in the Warmonger, Marauder, Machine, and Outlaw forts seem to be identical to the pictures shown in the appendices section, along with when you look at a captain's tribal abilities. I think this could mean that those orcs are the tribal leaders.
If the outlaw tribe controls a region there is a chance for orcs with war banners to spawn on patrol(very good video keep it up mate from England) 👍🏴
Ngl, I love this video. I always thought there wasn't enough attention brought to the TRIBES in comparison to specific Captains and Overlords and it's very interesting to see all the differences in the tribes, their architecture and whatnot. Still kinda wish those little stone homes in fortresses would alsonchange with the tribe, it's just funny to imagine a Tribal orc living in a modest and clean medieval house. Marauders gotta be my favourite, in my opinion they perfectly capture the idea of an orc: a war machine that lives for a fight, riches and glory and I especially love how they actually use the riches they plunder, as their weapons and armour. If there was a third game in the series I'd love to see more tribes and some mixes of these tribes. Imagine a Machine+Marauder or a Tribal+Dark, that would certainly be interesting, especially if they'd bring the mercenary mechanic of Baranor's DLC
I didn’t think it possible, but you made me love the warmonger tribe even more. Sincerely, thank you. The bit about them being the most boring hurt me tho XD
For all fellow Warmonger appreciators, here’s a fun fact - the Warmonger helmet that is tied to the Raid Leader title is actually the overlord-ified version of another Warmonger helmet that no title has. It’s only accessible through Cheat Engine.
Cool to see someone still makes videos about shadow of war, i noticed these changes only after like 36hours of playing SoW lol. I heard someone say that the dark and outlaw tribe are the most likely to betray you, altough i dont know how true that is
I could be wrong, but I believe the mystic totems can occasionally raise the dead near them, which also curses the player. Only way to stop this is to purify them via draining
Ferals might not be killing the dragons or drake, so much as collecting their bones that can be found in some regions and then using them as decorations and armour parts.
One extra details comes from one of the dlc in whice a DaVinci olog( I forgot the names) confirmed that he designed all the tribes fortress looks with the outlaw tribe being a exception
The marauder orc's giant hoops on top of their fortress resemble a golden ring to me... its also worth noting that around those piles of loot you can sometimes find uruks working as merchants with a line of other uruks taking an item each to buy from them, sometimes you can loot them to get silver I also like to think the mystic tribe (Who's magic totems can actually resurrect orcs that die around them) are more loyal to Morgoth than Sauron. And I think the Dark tribe are more loyal to Sauron as you stated in the video, so it would be very interesting if we got to explore their rivalries in that regard, especially since like the elder, its implied there are even some orcs old enough to remember serving under Morgoth.
14:19 The closest thing I can think of to what these skulls are (assuming the Mystics haven't sculpted the skulls with magic) is the Varghiest of Warhammer Fantasy.
I think its Slaughter - feral (hunter tamer) / machine - mystic (industry vs magic) / terror - marauder (luxury va pain) / dark - outlaw (worship vs freeroam) warmonger every single one.
NOTE: I do not know much of the Middle Earth Lore. It Woulda been cool if the all the Orc Tribes budded heads against one another, woulda added a lot more conflict within the Orcs as a whole, and it would have been cooler if they had Rivals. We could have interesting situations, like these POSSIBLE Situations. 1: The Feral and Machine Tribe being Rivals/Enemies would have made it where The Ferals Hated The Machine Tribe because the pollution The Machine Tribe causes. Making it where the wildlife such as caragors and Graugs were somewhat in a weakened state, The Ferals Dislike this since they wouldn't have anymore worthy challenges for them to claim. The Machine Tribe would hold a Grudge against the Feral tribe because their resources had been consistently taken from them by the feral tribe, causing their beloved machines to stop working, causing a Deep Hatred for one another. 2: The Dark Tribe seeing the Outlaw Tribe as Traitors of Sauron. The Outlaws would try to get The Dark Tribe to think for themselves instead of letting Sauron control them, but the Dark Tribe only sees the Outlaws as Traitors to their Dark Lord, Funnily enough I could believe that the Outlaw Tribe hate Talion as much as the Dark Tribe, and I'd say both have a burning passion to Kill Talion. 3: The Warmonger Tribe Dislikes the Marauder Tribe. The Warmongers think of The Marauders as being all talk no Bite, for the Warmongers Pride themselves in being always at the ready, they see the Marauder Tribe as nothing more than Confident Flashy Fools, this isn't specifically a Rivalry or anything, but more of The Warmongers Having a Bitter perspective on the Marauders. Now the there are three Tribes which i couldn't find a good reason for them to fight anybody, so I'll create reasons why they don't have specific enemies. The Terror Tribe: The Reason they'd have no specific enemies is mostly to the fact that they would strike Terror into any who would appose them (I mean it's literally int he Name) The Slaughter Tribe: The other Tribes would have no reason to specifically attack or dislike them, I mean they are the most Bloodthirsty (Literally and Figuratively) but they don't really have any good reason for other Tribes to attack, unlike some other Tribes which might have politically bad beliefs to some others, as far as I know the Slaughter Tribe has no enemies. The Mystic Tribe: Reason, They are as Mysterious as you would think they would be, and tbh the other Tribes probably know barely anything about them.
I want to let you know that there is a war paint that is extremely rare, and I have it. It is the Gólm purple olog body with red war paint on its head, i’m working towards getting the merchant, black body with a red paint, i’m pretty sure it’s also possible to do this with a black streak, in order to do this, you need to get the olog And then have one kill you and get an orc that gets promoted with red paint. I’m sure you can do it with the Flaks green ologs too, I would just love for the rest of the community to get these. i’ve taken it upon myself to get every single unique bass game color. Love that you keep on SOW, much thanks.
all in alll i find each tribe to be quite interesting with only one exception. Feral being just dumb. my favorites were marauder but after getting the outlaw tribe dlc they became my favorite. id personally rank them like 1. Outlaw 2. Marauder 3. Warmonger 4. Dark 5. Machine 6. Mystic 7. Terror 8. Slaughter 9. Feral I feel Outlaw and Warmonger fit the most with what we all know of as orcs. with Marauder and feral being the most out of place.
Lo más importante del juego en mi opinión es hacer que los diseños de fortaleza combinen con la región por eso los maquinistas solo deben estar en gorgoroth
its not enough that the terror tribe sliced open the graugs and left them to die. if you look closely you can see that these graugs are pink. meaning they cut these poor beasts open, skinned them alive, strung them up on the castle gates and left them there. I'm not sure how much pain Jesus went through when he was nailed to that cross but it wasn't even close to much as those poor beasts suffered
So my question is, is there a way to find out if there will be a way to target certain types of orcs, such as making tower orcs regarding on who is overlord or maybe a certain region or is it RNG ?
The tribes in SOW kind of remind me of the houses and assassin groups from game of thrones: Feral: House Stark and House Tully Marauder: House Lannister and House Tyrell Mystic: House Greyjoy Warmonger: House Baratheon and House Arryn Dark: House Dorne and faceless men Terror Tribe: House Bolton Slaughter Tribe: The Red Kings Outlaw: house targaryen Machine: House Frey (I keep getting betrayed by machine tribe urks loll)
