Thanks for making this, I always wondered on Roberts stretchers. You can't beat that price though even if you decide to re sell you will get your moneys worth. I had about 4 power stretchers when I started and bought and sold till I got a good used Crain kit. I plan to buy a new Crain stretching set soon, what do you think about the option for aluminum poles? I also will probably get the tail that folds and wraps around corners.
Gold Coast Flooring | Carpet & Tile Care that set you’re talking about getting will be a great set that was actually the one I’ve kind of had my eye on until I see these and that cheap price got me, the aluminum poles are definitely a lot lighter for toting Around and as long as you take care of them I guess they would last good they are definitely light which is a good thing because the stretchers are heavy I always wanted to get some but I didn’t like the price
It's the gold stretcher I think now right from Crain? I want to focus more on stretching next year so I wan to have a good set for once and keep my old one for backup. I probably will pass on the aluminum poles, not too worried about the weight.
Have you ever used the stretcher handle that you can crank up/down to lengthen the pole? My partner is always complaining to me DAILY about how my stretcher sucks because I have to adjust it using the push pins on the speed pole. To me it doesn't save me anytime cranking then pushing in 2 pins and sliding it.
Matty Lee85 yeah If they are clean and freshly oiled any of them will do that that I know of I can do that sometimes with mine even my old stretchers I could do that but it’s only on occasion if I’m trying to be faster something most the time I will just use the push buttons, but a quick pull up on the handle and the pool will slide out from the speed pole
Hi yeah if you was to fit stair runners and landing/hallway runner how would you secure the landing/hallway carpet o it's going on top of underlay cloud 9 commercial but in a domestic property
FloorsbySouthernboys that's OK I'm going to cut the underlay short a inch around all the runners on the stairs and landing/hallway so the carpet rests over the edge so you don't see the underlay, gripper will hold it in place on the stairs and double stick the carpet on the landing/hallway with a couple secret pins :) thank you for replying
crain is heavier built . roberts tools used to be heavy tools too until several yrs ago they sold out and now all their stuff is china made.
Stephen Boyd Yeah the Crain stretchers did feel more solid
Typically if it is used for tool rental then it is tough they need to get their money out of them.
Mellow Man yup
Good video , love watching how others fit carpet , in uk fitters mainly use a knee stretcher .
+Buffy boss 1 Thank you, I’ve heard that from a lot of fitters From the UK, our carpet is my different than it is over there I am pretty sure
That's a very informative and well made video thank you
yeah that's a good deal.
Christian Wilson yup
