Thanks. Was suppose to take us 8hr to get to Cambridge. It took 12. Super long day. Traffic. Construction. Accidents. And to top it off our first room had bed bugs. So far not so good.
What an upgrade! Seeing the wood going up the conveyor makes the output appear to be double or close to double the old machine. You might try putting a tarp under the conveyor and splitting chamber to help with the clean up. It looks like a lot of fun. Have a great day.
Yeah a tarp might be a good idea. Easy to move a little while making wood to keep it clear. Oh she makes the wood that’s for sure. It’s crazy how fast I can empty the live deck.
With all the room you have you could easily make next year's requirements and pile it in bins. I can see an issue getting the processed wood into IBC totes. With the bins you won't have to kiln dry everything. I don't make or use firewood so there is much I don't know...just offering my ideas..
His biggest issue with doing bins is that he may not have enough wind that flows through his property. That’s why Chris at In The Woodyard can produce dry, quality wood with that method.
For me stacking in totes is a must. I can easily move the wood around. I know how much wood I have. And I can load the wood effortlessly without touching the wood. Plus I can put the wood into the kiln to produce an even higher quality wood.
@amandadavis9726 I’m just not a fan of bins. Nor would I hand load all that wood. Even if you used a machine to scoop the wood then you get some debris/dirt in it. It may work for others. But I like the way I do things. It just works for me. Maybe one day if I can actually get ahead of the demand.
Bro, that’s some BA processing right there!! I showed my wife your video from yesterday. I told her if my operation was big enough,…you’d be spending my 💰 😂!!
@@Treestofirewood I literally just started at the beginning of May. I found an ad on Facebook for cheap. It ended up being a dump trailer stacked full of pine. I processed it and then ordered my first triaxle load of logs. I got that load finished, and ready to start selling. It all came out to around 10 cords. But probably half of it was sellable to my standards. I started selling bundles only through a couple of facebook marketplace ads during the July 4 weekend. I wanted to keep processing, but I had a partial knee replacement surgery in mid July. 😔 I’ve been selling them here and there. That’s been fine with me. It makes it to where it wont interfere with my recovery. My operation is pretty small at this moment. A 500i, Super Split, 7x14 dump trailer, and a tractor with over 200 totes is what I use. I’m gonna scale it a little bit. Should be getting my new Axis in the next week or so, plus another truckload of logs. So I’ll see how it all goes. I would love to go to Bunyan, but it just wasn’t in the plans for this year. My wife will be traveling for a baby shower,…so I’ll be holding down the fort. I think we’re gonna go next year, though. I’ve been talking to her about it, and she thinks it would be kinda cool as well.
@amandadavis9726 awesome stuff. Sounds like you have a good plan. stick to it. Don’t go to big to fast. Go bigger as your demand tells you. Sounds like you have the firewood bug.
@@Treestofirewood it’s a fun little gig. I’m with you on not going too big too fast. I’ve seen companies shut down because of that, lol. I got bit by the firewood bug 😆. It’s funny how you can enjoy something that you used to hate as a kid. But when you have the right equipment, you honestly don’t mind putting in the work.
Hi Matt Sorry to hear the trip to the Bunyon show was a long one and then the bed bugs !!! That's a Bitch ! Sure hope none came home in a suitcase !!! Looks like you are getting the hang of the Brutt !!!😊 Maybe for a test ...your own satisfaction....do the Log Father challenge that you did a while ago !!!! When you are completely comfortable running it !!! Without looking back at video's i think your time was 23 minutes ! ?!?😊 Interesting to see what you can do now...splitting the same size of wood ! May as well have fun at the same time as you work !😊 You have a Good Day !
The show was a blast. Met a lot of good people. Don’t think we brought any back left that room as fast as we walked in. But yes I will be doing that full cord challenge once again. I know I will smoke that time. I will try and get roughly same size logs to capitalize the splits and time. Maybe in a few weeks when I get super comfortable with the machine. And so far I have a blast running it.
Your last log holder plate is not retracted all the way. It is sticking out into the splitting chamber. You can get away with that with the small stuff you were splitting but make sure its retracted all the way if your splitting bigger stuff. A piece will catch it and bend it all to hell.
Have fun at the show!👍👍
Yeah I hope it’s a good time.
Congrats on your new processor! It's great to hear you're happy with it so far.
Thanks man. I love it. So far so good.
Serious production!
Oh yeah. Love this thing. Can’t wait to get back from the show and put her to work.
Matt, Jim from Homestead Jay. Was nice meeting you and the wife at the 2024 Paul Bunyan Show in Ohio. looking forward to seeing you again. 👍🏻
Hey Jim. Yes it was awesome seeing you guys. It was almost like we knew each other our whole lives.
@@Treestofirewood Yes, that’s what Jay said.
Good video, processor is looking awesome 👍 Be careful on the road both to & back from the show.

Yeah I did see that. But thanks for reminding me. I got a little lazy with that control. I would be super upset if I bent that up.
