Restoration of anything comes at a price of Energy and Hard Work.. Hence the Saying/Term.. " NOTHING IS EASY ".. Keep AT IT ... Mark.. We're all watching..
Funny you say that, I worked in my dad's paint and body shop around 13-15 or so and my dad's paint told me the same thing after I said something would be easy. Lol
Gday Twin Sticks. Full respect for your determination. I believe that determination is better than talent. I’m sure there would be plenty of professional painters that would say “good enough” I’ll sit through all your sanding in support of your pursuit of the best possible result. You are quite the inspiration. Hats off to you
Professional or not.. a part of the reason I went owner operator is you showed me that as long as a guy outs his noggin into it? A guy can learn every detail on their rig. So thank you for giving the motivation in 2024 to take the leap as I've been watching since you pulled LBL out of thr field
Mark I'm genuinely impressed with the amount of love and determination that you insert on these projects...you not only learned yourself a great deal of knowledge, for the ones of us who payed attention of, instead of criticizing of...also learned it as well ..I very greatful for this channel and also much love and respect to the whole Twinsticks Garage family ❤️🇨🇦💙🇺🇸✝️
One thing I can say is I learn something new every video of yours. And I’ve watched since LBL come out of the field. I’ve stopped watching other channels because they quit teaching interesting things and made it about their life and success, I don’t care about that. Don’t get discouraged by the amount of sanding/ polishing video’s because that’s honestly what it takes! Happy new year!
Don't feel discouraged. I have been following this truck since day one. If you hadn't have saved it, it would be rusted away in the ground no doubt. Keep up the badassery
I was listening to Waylon Jennings while waiting for the notification, but I found the video. Can't wait to see what LBL looks like when done. Keep em coming, and I'll keep watching.
I do know one thing.. The truck is going to look great by the time you're done with it. Looking forward to seeing if you're going to put some old school stripes on it or not.
Good Morning Mark. Just wanted to say Happy New Year, all the way from Charlotte,NC. LBL is starting to take shape, and looking👌🏾. I’ve watched all 100 plus episodes. There’s nothing wrong with taking your time. Because you like what you like. Keep up the great work, and those episodes coming.
And yet, here we all are staying steadfast to watch you meticulously sand for another episode. If you're dedicated, so are we! It willall pay off in the end Mark. Happy New Year Mark! Cheers 🍻 Earl
I think it’s looking really good man. I say just keep going. You’re like me when I was painting I was the same way, but I have to come to realize that nothing is ever gonna be perfect but you’re doing a rockin job. Just keep it up.
Mark podziwiam cię za wytrwałość w tej pracy przy malowaniu tej ciężarówki. Włożyłeś w tą pracę mnóstwo czasu i serca ale efekt tej pracy będzie piorunujący. Powodzenia i szczęśliwego nowego roku 2025🎉🎊🍾🥂💪👌👍🇵🇱 pozdrawiam z Polski 🇵🇱🇵🇱🇵🇱trzymam kciuki
It will be beautiful when it's done Mark. I'm sure that's what you keep telling yourself. The sanding/polishing struggle goes on. And it will be. Happy New Year Twinsticks.
Thanks for all the effort you put in and I appreciate the ‘sanderthon’ you’ve been on this past 12 months! Look forward to more quality content in 2025. Andy 🇬🇧
Mark Love your Channel love your work you mention 60 hours of work on this paint job we have seen you’re learning curve on painting . I used to work for a Englishman Very dear friend an teacher He always told us he did not care about birthing pains he just wanted a Baby!! 😊😊😊

use a plastic sqeege t wipe it instead of the rag and they make little sanding pads called denibing pads for tight spaces sanding will make you a great painter
You know, there has to be some custom shop out there doing a truck without the hucks, as you said without hucks you would have been done 13.2 episodes ago 😂😂😂 every time I think about painting Gertrude, I watch another one of your episodes 😂😂😂😂 I’m thinking patina looks better and better 😂😂😂 keep it up buddy, going to be awesome when it’s done 👍🏻👊🏼🙌🏼
Dear Mark i have see how you working hard to get LbL so beautyfull as posibell and i waacht evry time also the one with you're sanding till it is perfect go on with it and LbL will be perfect
Your hard work is appreciated and it’s going to look absolutely mint. Were you ever tempted to just go over the rivets and touch them all in afterwards 😅Thanks for the uploads 👌
Remember you've sanded everything. There's no need for a light coat of clear for adhesion. You can now paint or clear right over the sanded surfaces. Clear must be wet looking enough without over spraying it. While you're spraying, if an area looks dry or thin, spray over that area to correct. Do not wait more than necessary to shoot each additional coat. Each successive coat must be sprayed over a tacky, not dry coat. That's for effective layers of clear to give that deep, sharp reflection.
Mark may I make a suggestion before you paint the Iron Duke? Binge watch sprayway customs. He's probably the best automotive body and paint guy on youtube. I know it's regular cars but the same principles apply. Just a suggestion my friend. Awesome job and progress on Little by Little
No complaints here Mark, l love all the content, paint and body and metal polishing is my main field of interest. Stick to your game plan you're going to have the best 359 in Canada. Happy new year from Manchester England 👍🏻
Good video brother keep up the good work and keep on trucking can't wait to see lbl done it's going to look great happy new year to you and the family you keep doing what you do and I'll keep watching never miss one of your videos
Just a couple of things to keep in mind . Run a strip of masking tape over your rivets and sharp does when doing the majority of sanding to avoid burning through. Even though you may have several coats of clear built up, sharp corners and body lines generally have thinner material on on them and those areas are easier to cut through. When wet sanding , be aware that that process increases the cutting power of the abrasive. That means the 800 hundred grade would be as aggressive as say a 600, so be aware you are removing more material than you think. I disagree with your method of just working through every step in one small section as it consuming. I would do the complete sleeper in one stage before moving onto the next step. Take your time. Break the job down into small sections and day if I just get this side finished that’s a good effort and the job doesn’t appear as daunting. You could probably save a bit of time and skip a few sanding steps on the roof where it wants to be seen as much. 👍
Happy new year !! Now back to work. Your using the wrong tool for the job. Don't use the DA sander, it spins twice for cutting material and that's why you get swirl marks in your finish. Use the orbital sander with progressive grit wet sandpaper. Just don't run it too long in one place, or it will burn the clear.
I knew a guy who owned a body. He had asepurant gun that he shot his clear with it was pretty expensive, he said. But it sprayed much less material, then his color gun.
The one thing I've learned through all of this is don't get orangepeel in the first place! Trying to sand between the rivets is just a nightmare, if rather light myself on fire than deal with orangepeel the way you have. Even be worth $99,000,000.00 to have a professional do it. Zooks of Gad!

You prove to me that I will not paint my old Impala. I am thinking of leaving it the rat rod look. You are going the full mile on LBL. Great job.
Happy new year
That's a whole lot of work, Mark, but I'm sure it will be well worth the time and effort.
I know you're working your butt off doing this job

Ground hog day Mark but like the movie Perfection at the End
Happy New Years Mark
Good morning. Didn't realize it was already 7am lol 😂😂
Your hard work is appreciated and it’s going to look absolutely mint. Were you ever tempted to just go over the rivets and touch them all in afterwards 😅Thanks for the uploads 👌
You eat an elephant 1 bite at a time. Your truck and your money and time. Get it how you want it. I enjoy watching.
The best way I ever found. Not having a paint booth. Old school way. Like they did lacquer paint. Wet sand in between every coat. 600 to 2,000
LMFAO good paint job
BTW Happy New Year Brother Mark
First come first served
Truck body shops remove hucks block sand and buff . Then paint and clear hucks and install . Leaving just enough to hold the structure together
HNY to Mr & Mrs TwinStick eh!
Use an oscillating tool with the triangle head to sand closer around the huck rivets
Hey Mark, I'm aright with your paint videos. I've stuck it out this long, I'm not going anywhere.

Come on Mark starting 2025 off with a video of sanding again 😭😭

When you start your cat engine in the morning step on the throttle two or three times and then start the engine
I feel your pain I'm upto doing same thing with a ute I painted
Oh! It’s Thursday.
I'm going to need a Valium prescription if you keep sanding on that paint job. 😂
Happy new year !! Now back to work. Your using the wrong tool for the job. Don't use the DA sander, it spins twice for cutting material and that's why you get swirl marks in your finish. It's hard to paint semis I have done 4xs it can be a b with an itch lol 😂, very tireing.
I knew a guy who owned a body. He had asepurant gun that he shot his clear with it was pretty expensive, he said. But it sprayed much less material, then his color gun.
Next time try some fish eye 😊
I like the diversity of content keep it up Mark
🍾😊🍾
That's what i told her
Are you going to put full mud guards on especially after doing such a good job on the painting ?
The one thing I've learned through all of this is don't get orangepeel in the first place! Trying to sand between the rivets is just a nightmare, if rather light myself on fire than deal with orangepeel the way you have. Even be worth $99,000,000.00 to have a professional do it.
Zooks of Gad!
Unfortunately there will always be some OP it’s just is it minor enough to live with or…
