Welcome back to the channel where I’m continuing with the ongoing restoration of this 1979 Kenworth W900A truck to turn it into a tribute movie truck and trailer to the one used in the 1977 classic movie Smokey and the Bandit with Burt Reynolds, Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason. If you haven’t seen it yet, what are you waiting for??? “For the money, for the glory and for the fun … mostly for the money”
On this episode I take the Snowman Rig to its 1st truck show. Edmonton Kenworth invited me to a local gathering of cool old trucks to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Kenworth that started out in 1923 when Harry Kent and Edgar K. Worthington came together to help Pacific Northwest loggers build a dependable and rugged truck and the rest is history. What a treat it was being a part of the show and #ProjectSnowman even made it on the evening news!
Check out Kenworth’s history (same as what I was looking at in the trailer) at: www.kenworth.com/kenworth-100...
Hope you enjoy the video and thanks for all the comments, suggestions, and support!
Keep in mind, I know a little about a lot but not an expert in anything … just doing the best I can, learning as I go ... I do all my own stunts
Enjoy watching the progress of this Kenworth W900A project, the ongoing Peterbilt 359 restoration and the upcoming #IronDuke Kenworth K100 cabover I’m planning to build up like the one used in the 70’s trucking movie High Ballin’ with Jerry Reed and Peter Fonda.

Mark, must be no finer a feeling than seeing your blood, sweat, tears & money pay off at the show!
It’s nice to be able to share it with so many awesome folks 👍
Ol’ Twin Stix made it on the boob tube on the first show!! Congrats Mark well deserved after all your hard work! The truck looks awesome!
@@TwinStix thanks for bringing us along..... I love old trucks and always wanted to drive but I couldn't afford to..
(11.5 for driving schools in the states and I work for a dude that used to drive but I couldn't afford to pay him back if I broke something... cause a new trans ....!!!!)...but it's great to see em and learn more...
Now you need to finish the trilogy
A rubber duck
A BJ and the bear
And you gotta get a local.... maybe a Hayes Clipper!!!
i thought it was no finer feeling than peter mobiling
Awesome 👏 Mark!!
Burt Reynolds & Jerry Reid would be proud :D
Wow, not only are you a You Tube Star, now you can ad TV Star to your resume! Congrats on all your hard work paying off!
Haha yeah unfortunately they didn’t want to interview any of the drivers but if you look close at the end you can see me and Mrs TwinSticks 😂
@@TwinStixthey did not want to interview you because they know your a huge youtube Star 🎉
Who else looks forward to Thursdays because there will be a new video from twin sticks garage?
You did it! I am glad I followed you since the beginning of the restoration. I now know what an enormous effort it took to pull this off. My hat off to you. You earned my respect.
It is really cool you got invited, and it's been an amazing journey to watch it go from what it was to the snowman.
Mark you should get a poster board with the facts about the movie truck like how the stacks were different heights and stuff for the shows. Maybe show some pictures of the progress along the way. So happy for you man!
maybe set up an i-pad with all the youtube videos. that will promote the channel. or at least a barcode to scan that takes you to the channel.
I could feel the warm glow of pride from here in the U.K. when that news anchor mentioned the truck from Smokey and the bandit. Well done mark.
Why are the rigs in Europe so bland? At least in Germany. Those "MAN" rigs are ugly and Benz and others, are they the same in England?
Just curious how the other side of the pond sees Smokey and the Bandit. As an American who grew up in the 80's. the was the tail end of the 70's and I was 8 years old and LOVED every frame. It's considered a documentary in the South, LOL.
Can’t wait for you to take out a row of parked bikes. She looks good .
if you get in that tight spot take it until you say that's enough and call foxy lady and her gang. breaker 19 calling the foxy lady
The split ring aluminum wheels is the chef's kiss on your beautiful truck. Outstanding job Mark!
Jerry is smiling down on you... You definitely have one of the best actual replicas out there... You did a fantastic job putting it together. 👍🏼
Ban two sitting in front of the dealership was an awesome shot! How proud you must be. Beautiful rig and your an awesome builder. Can't wait for the K-100. 👍🏻
What a magnificent journey, thanks for taking us along on this amazing restoration
23:22 I had a 1/24th scale model of that tow truck but it was an aerodyne cab over KW. My dad was always inventive with modeling, so we glued on the 5th wheel of our fading moving on Movin' On Kenworth model.
God bless all you Canadian truckers 🙏 . Thank you for bringing this tribute together, a man called Bandit from Atlanta GA . . .
Mark, your vision and persistence have paid off handsomely
Truck and trailer are spot on and a testament to your dedication and commitment.
Great build. It’s been a fantastic series for us viewers. Looking forward to seeing it at more shows in the future.
Looking forward to Ms TwinStix hot little TransAm build
My hats off to you Sir.
Man that brings back memories 😮 just after this movie i started my long line OTR carear ! That old K.W is TOO SWEET !!!!!
Awesome tribute truck. I have enjoyed watching all of your builds. From a fellow 1976 model keep ‘em rolling
Now someone needs to come along and make a movie with this truck
13:46 That's like the shade of yellow of the Freightliner 2000 classic XL I drove in 2004-05. What a great looking truck! Lot of great looking KWhoppers, your Snowman rig looks awesome Mark!
Really enjoyed that episode Mark, again I wish I could have been there but still another 10 months till retirement. I hope I don't have to miss any of the truck shows next year, The Smokey truck looks awesome have a great week Mark say hello to Mrs. Twin stix for us.
It's so cool to see Jerry Reed's truck tribute. Eastbound and Down is one of the best songs ever in a movie that captures the essence. I LOVE the Bandit Trans Am, but also the basset hound express... THANK YOU Truckers !!!!! YOU keep the world going, so screw Biden, and that Canadian dude.
❤❤ THAT WAS A GREAT RIDE !!! I DROVE STRAIGHT TRUCKS FER COOP FER 8 YEARS, AND RETIRED ABOUT TWELVE YEARS AGO !!! ONE OF MY FAVORITE OCCUPATIONS !!! THANKS BRO !!! ❤❤
Thanks for taking us along to the show Mark, all your hard work payed off, Snowman looks a treat, minty! 👏🏻👍🏻🇬🇧
Ran into a 1978 W900A last week in and out of my hometown in in Coweta Co., GA. Headed to Pigeon Forge, TN this past weekend, truck was great and the driver was awesome, shootout to Russ!
This brings a huge smile on my face Mark. It's finally finished and you're on your way to the 100th anniversary Kenworth show. I know you're smiling ear to ear. Good Job brother 👍.! I sure enjoyed seeing all those classic Kenworths, they're Some beautiful trucks.
C`MON Son EAST BOUND & DOWN LOADED UP & TRUCKING.. Boy how time flys TY.
Definitely awesome job on this, a fantastic show piece and I’m sure a blast to drive!!!
Hey Mark if you ever get a chance to come to the US bring snowman to the I-80 Truck Show in Iowa. Would love to see you there.
I can imagine the Trans Am next to the W900a Kenny already, man. It's amazing!
Oh, featured on TV news. You're famous now!
I have always found it fascinating that Peterbilt and Kenworth are both owned by PACCAR since 1954, Peterbilt billed itself as the truck with class, yet it seems that Kenworth was the big innovator. KW introduced the K100 VIT (108"BBC) in 1972, the W-900 VIT (60" sleeper) for the 1974 model year, and the K100 and W900 Aerodyne in 1976. Peterbilt did introduce similar sized 352's and 359 sleepers, but no Aerodyne.
Hell of a job on that KW !!! Most iconic KW in the world. I like how you put the gold 73 model bug on the hood. Looks good and sounds good!! 😊👍🏻. I feel like the snowman when I’m driving my W9😬
Love that you had Fred in the jump seat.
Ken Worth transport cabs and tailors.
My favorite transports.
🏳️🌈 🇨🇦
Outstanding, made the media as well.
BTW, love the Twin Stick logo in the haz placard holder.
I remember Smokey and The Bandit comming out. Seen it at a drive in theatre in Australia. I think I still have a very old shirt from around the same time, it has a long nose and a cab over KW on it. I am now 68.
Your truck is realy great. Hope it was a head turner at the show
great truck done a flawless job great history kenworth has especially here in australia
first time watching your channel. thankyou for awakening some emotion is this old dog. remembering our beloved movie too.
Just started watching the video and noticed that you even have the Snowman's calculator on the dash!!!!!! Love it!!!
I love the fact that you even got the calculator in it
All it needs is for some local brewery to hook u up with a load of beer cases, 🤣LOL!!
That truck turned out gorgeous, and the old Cummins doesn't make noise, it makes sweet music🎶🎵, I love it!! Great job keeping the old girl alive!!!
I am a second generation truck driver out of Ky USA. Got a 100th anniversary Kenworth T680, in process of buying a 1986 K100. Let me tell you sir id trade them both for your Snowman Rig. I absolutely love it. Awesome job Sir.
You made it to the show! Congratulations! Of course, as a twin sticks viewer, I am partial to your entry. BUT, from a purely beautiful, easy on the eyes entry, I would have to go with that green and chrome truck shown toward the end of the video! Just beautiful. Now, get busy on those other trucks!
Great truck show twin sticks thanks for letting us tag along truck and trailer looks super cool all that hard work really paid off
Even got the calculator right! Looks awesome
Beautiful, piece of history ❤👍🇺🇲🚛💯😎
Love the original stacks and bumper
I love your Rig smokey and the bandit
Beautiful job on the truck!
Congrats!
Love the day cab with the 8” stacks !!
Sweet sound, brought back a lot of memories
I enjoyed your episode I retired from Chillicothe Kenworth with 42 years of service. I was the 29th person hired at a long-standing career. I was a millwright by trade. Chillicothe does a parade every year when they have their company picnic there’s usually 100 or so trucks and trailers, you might want to look into something like that. It is a big facility.
Okay Mark, I waited until I was done with the playlist to comment. This is freakin cool! I love everything you have done to make a close to movie truck as possible. I'm 48 yrs old, Smokey and The Bandit became my fav movie as a child. Mostly because my dad is a truck driver, and still is to this day. He has hauled it all except flat bed. I have watched the movie every time it was on television. Now I own a remastered dvd. And there are other movies with trucking that I like. Good job man. I cannot wait to see how that cabover turns out. That's the next playlist to watch. A lot of cool rigs at the show.
smokey and the bandit is a childhood classic growing up, to see someone build a kenworth from the ground up makes my inner child so happy
Looks great. All the hard work paying off.
My only Bro passed away from cancer in 1993 at 41 years old , leaving wife and kids behind and many friends. He was born to drive trucks...When he was younger it was anything then he got hired to drive long haul equipment truck in the 70's for rock & roll groups .After that he went local with a cement mixer truck....would ride his Gold Wing to work even in the rain...after early morning coffee with the other guys... He played guitar and had several bands he was a lefty and played a right handed guitar upside down..Still missing him... I wrote a tribute to Smokey and the Bandit in my story , Pioneers of Power .....on Facebook free read.....as my Bro liked to say when leaving....Be cool....
Very sorry for your loss 🙏
Magnificent truck!
Very sweet. Thank you for sharing
My favorites are the kenworth

GORGEOUS RIG/RIGS!!!🤘
This movie was the whole reason I got my CDL. I grew up idolizing this movie and eventually got Mt CDL and spent a few years on the road. I loved it and miss it actually but don't know if I could do it full time again.
Shared on my X feed for the other gear-jammers to see that couldn't be there ....... been keeping up with the build and its freakin' awesome...... say "Hi" to the Mrs. ....... love you guys.

The truck of my dreams. Congratulations! Greetings from Argentina.
I love the old C cab! I have 4 of them 3 wood and metal and a fiberglass one! The wood ones I can't see a manufacturer for them! I haven't seen that blue & yellow in a long time the old Alaska Hi way Express since I moved from White Horse!
I watched it at the theater when it came out in 1977. The greatest movie ever made!!!!
Im Smokey Bear and I’m tail grabbin your ass right now!!
😂😂😂😂😂
I like 👍 big rig 🚛 trucks I think 😅 they are really cool 😎 you have a great day
Great show! You super desrve that with the relentless work you did on that rig. I wish I had it! It's gotta be awesome to drive! I gotta admit you have done an outstanding job of making that truck a creation! I'm asounded you found a guy that coud recreate the trailer graphic to that scale with the same finish and precision. That is one of a kind becuause no one will ever have the time, money or ambition to ever recreate that like you did! That's not to mention the other projects you had going on at the same time. I'm addicted and love watching ( just ditch the braclets and rings, they are a little . . . ).
Man I would love to see you go to MATS next year. Would love to see Snowman and met ya.
Good job Mark that's so COOL!!!!
This is one of those videos that I wish I could give multiple thumbs up- Looking good Mark!

Congratulations, Mark!!! I know it’s been a long time coming, she turned out perfect👍👍👍😎😎😎
Awesome! Thanks for bringing us along.
P.S. - Chillicothe rhymes with coffee.
Awesome video of your restoration, I enjoy watching your videos
You did a great job on this unbelievable I love it very cool east bound and down rolling out and trucken
Can't praise your work enough. Absolutely gorgeous. You need to hang up your trailers dolly crank handle though. Having it sticking out like that is going to clip something.
Yeah I just missed hanging on the hook
Excellent First Trip and Show !! H.
So, Mark, I'm watching while I'm cooking breakfast...and I just realized I'm at the stove with a big grin on my face, just happy for you and enjoying your drive vicariously.
Started seeing you build this from the beginning, great showing of the Smoky rig.
Mark, nice meeting you at dinner the other night. Looking forward to checking out your channel.
What an accomplishment!! You must be so happy with the end result of all that hard work. Great looking unit!!
Can’t wait to see dat rig on the road
My bossman 2 or 3 yrs ago he bought an original '78 KW that had been stored in a barn I think he said about 20 or 25 yrs. Still had original paint. He had frame re-painted, but kept original cab & hood paint just had some kind of clear coat shine put on it. It's got Class of 78 on each side of the hood. Inside of cab still original.
“It goes 0-60 in….about a minute” 🤣
Absolutely GORGEOUS truck!
"East bound and down, loaded up and truckin'
A-we gonna do what they say can't be done
We've got a long way to go, and a short time to get there
I'm east bound, just watch ol' "Bandit" run".
😍Beautiful truck!!!!!!🤜🤛
Congratulations on the debut of Snowman to the public and appearing on the news . For those that have the Roku streaming app they're streaming Movin On and it's the first time my 62 year old backside has seen it since the original run when it injected diesel into the blood of a 13 year old kid and help set me on the road for a 40 year career 5 years later.
I know you were swelled with pride..congrats..be nice when you can open the trailer and show where all you have been with it.hope you come to the lower 48
