8V92 Shennanigans owns a 1975 Kenworth W900A that he works everyday hauling perishable porduce in a Great Dane 53' reefer trailer all across the central & eastern USA. And he has a small but growing TH-cam channel.
Unfortunately you never hear that beautiful 2 stroke diesel sound in California anymore. The tree huggers made sure of it, well because the sky is falling of course 🙄
@@Ol2Stroker my friend that set em up, that’s alll he worked on in the military cause that’s all they had so he got pretty good with em, his only complaint was setting up all the gaskets for the heads. then he’d bring it to my shop to break em in on the dyno 😎👍
Great video Wayne always a treat doing pretrip maintenance on Mossy. Nice improvements starter and battery box. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Wayne.
she sounds a lot happier with that 12v starter. I noticed the way you have the battery cables hooked up you're only pulling juice through the inboard battery, the outer battery is kinda just along for the ride. Power load has to flow through both poles of the bank of batteries to get full cheech. Like the vacuum trick, saves time draining fluids or trying swap fittings quick on the fly.
Yeah it'd balance the loading and charging of the batteries better if the cables going to the rig were crossed so that positive was attached to one battery and negative to the other. But it may not be doable with his cable lengths and likely not enough better to bother with making a new cable if thats the case.
Learned that vacuum trick when I worked at the blue painted lift factory. Sucked when someone misaligned the o-ring on the big hydro pump suction line and pinched it. The vacuum will keep you from losing fluid even with a 2" hole but the fluid will run up into the vacuum and fill it so you have to be quick or it will trip the overfill and shutoff the vacuum.
Using vacuum to prevent fuel from flowing out while changing the tank fittings was genius! Great job with the fuel system and starter upgrades. Yeah, that's a lot of fixes and upgrades in a short amount of time. Now, about your carpentry skills... hmmmmm. 🤔😅
I drove a volvo NH daycab rigid tipper for a guy in australia and the cross over hose was 1” and you only had to fill one side as it would equalise fast as fcuk
@ yeah I was shocked as I found it when first refuel I opened both fuel caps lifted the tip body to use the one fuel hose and didn’t need to I figured the fuel bowser was slow not realising I just refuelled the whole truck so from then on it was a breeze 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
why is the hydraulic equipment for the trailer mounted so high like it is ? Could it be mounted lower so it has a lower profile , that seems like it would leave more room for cargo.
No you’re not, we always see things afterwards and can improve on what we’ve done , it’s life and learning from our mistakes . I remember you building that hydraulic system and I think you did a great job , hey it’s still working and never gave any trouble lol
Love the sound of the old Detroit nothing better. Miss those engines

I also put a 12v gear reduction starter on my 8v92T and what a difference it was to start
They're life changers!

i had one of these twin turbo on the engine dyno a few years back for a genset surprisingly it made 809. i usually see 519ish hp
They run pretty good when they're set up right

Oh shit! Luckily the fluid was far enough down to not get in my vacuum i hadn't thought of that lol
39mt for the win😎🔥👍

I Damn near crushed my finger putting one of those starters in a GMC general lol. Heavy SOBs to hump around in the dirt. Cheers
