You're welcome!
Yep it really does work i do the same with berries as well
try my wash trick for berries
The plastic container can be changed with a plastic bag very wide opened with paper towel on bottom. Put it in the vegetables compartment. In such way, instead of getting spoiled, it gets dried. It holds as much as Jerry told you in this video. Covering it keeps the moisture in the recipient. In such case, the napkins / paper towels will have to perform heavier duty than in the case of open box. But, you should cover it if your fridge does not circulate the air.
yah i typically use a reusable towel
Thank you.
You're welcome!
Very well spoken

Hi! Do you also have a video on how to store arugula?
Not yet! Thank you for the idea!
Do you wash it first or wait till you use it
I bought arugula that comes in a plastic container that is covered. It tends to yellow quickly.
This tip should help with that too!
Must the spinach be dry before storing?
YES
Do you wash it before storing it or not until just before you eat it?
wash before
Freezer or fridge? just clarifying. Also if you meant fridge, would freezer be able to store it for longer?
fridge
Hi Jerry, pls how can lettuces be stored for a longer period. Didn’t see that in your Vedio’s. Thank you
like ice berg, wrap in paper towel and put in bag, loose greens just like this video
@@jerryjamesstone thanks a lot
Hi Jerry, does this work for tossed salad? I like to take them for lunch but the are soggy by lunch time. Help 😂. I ptewash my salads before packing my lunch box
Yes it does. works on pretty much all greens
@@jerryjamesstone thank you
I've just washed them so that's mean I have to dry them completely before storing them?
YES
Ooops I just did the same thing, as they are fresh from a farmer's market, not prewashed like you get in the supermarket. Just wondering if I should take the roots off first?
Can i separate the leaves from the stem and store them together?....i'm eve planning in cutting the stems in small pieces so i can use it ASAP
Sure but it’ll probably spoil faster
Can I store chopped spinach in the same way you did the leaves? Please reply Jerry
yes but cut veggies degrade faster
@@jerryjamesstone got it. Thanx 4 responding
Jerry, how can I keep a fresh cucumber fresh in the refrigerator
i believe my cucumber video goes over that
We have to in fridge or freezer??
Please clarify
Fridge
Wash before storing, or as used?
I tend to buy the pre washed spinach. If you do was it before you store it, just make sure it's dry.
Can it be a glass food storage container?
yes
Do you need to wash it before storing?
No!
What type of paper it is please reply sir
paper towel
Do I cut the tails off first or do I store them with the tails ? Whatever they are called, stems? Lol
leave em
Im going to try this. Im so tired of throwing half a bag of spinach in tbe trash.
Yay!
Did u rinse first will be coming from my garden so it will be dirty
Yes, wash the spinach first.
I did follow the trick but my spinach got all dry, it was actually better than being spoiled but I was a bit disappointed, and also it happens with only being in the container for 3 days, I😪 do not understand. maybe was the paper that was too thick? thanks
Oh no! Is the spinach you purchased close the the expiration date?
@@jerryjamesstone no, I really think is the paper that was really thick and took all the water from them, I will try again with another brand lighter.
What you don't say is if this is washed and dried spinach. A big issue is proper drying after cleaning and getting all the moisture out before storing. Or is this fresh dirty/ dry spinach that we can wash as we take out?
If I wanted you to wash the spinach I would’ve said wash it, the omission isn’t an error it’s just based on standard use. You don’t wanna wash pretty much any produce before putting in the fridge
They asked a simple and legit question. I don’t see why you need to be snarky about it. I wondered same. No one said it was an error on your part. Just a simple question because wash it dry was not mentioned. They simply wanted clarification. 🤷♀️
I wondered the same thing
Wait did you wash them or not
nope
i can't live without spinach and they always go bad by the end of the week tysm
of course
watched with my Carbon Based Unit, she told me to subscribe
🤣
0:20 FOR WEEKS means 14 days folks.
:-)
logical,,, we use big ziplocks y paper
ok
Should last 14 days. I watched this thinking weeks ment at least 3 weeks. Should just call it How to store spinich for 14days.
But I’ve had spinach last longer than 14 days lol so I’m gonna stick with what I said
Great tip! Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
