      I don’t know what I did wrong, I started my spinach, at 9 this morning washed and spin dried it then up it on a towel.It’s been 12 hours and it still never dried. I don’t know what to do with it. My strawberries,blueberries celery and carrots all turned out amazing I m just going to leave in on the table to see if it dries by morning.maybe it’s because our temperature here in Juneau is 12 degrees now it’s been cold and windy all day do you think that would have anything to cause it from not drying. I wanted to do my Romain lettuce, but I’m afraid that it won’t dry also.@@TheCrossLegacy

    How do you keep your towel from getting stained green?
    I ended up buying red towels for laying out berries to dry so I could stop wasting so many paper towels (and avoid staining my other kitchen towels). Thank you!

      I have a beach towel that I use just for produce so it if gets any color on it that okay since it is the only purpose. It's this one: amzn.to/4cx3Rh2

    What about Courgettes please? Will European 6% White wine vinegar do as well? I can't seem to find distilled white vinegar so readily in Spain. Gracias!

      @TheCrossLegacy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes your white wine vinegar is safe.

      We have zucchini/courgettes in the summer edition of I Bought It, Now What? Available on Amazon. I store them similar to cucumbers which there is a video if they are smaller sized ones.

    I've been using your washing/storage methods for over a month now, and for most things it's working great, but this week I tried washing/drying spinach and some more leafy lettuces and they became so limp (especially the spinach). I am washing so much that I couldn't put it all in glass jars with filtered water to revive them. Any other suggestions for how to have a better outcome with these varieties? Thanks.

      Using a salad spinner will cut down on drying time. Most of the time time after they get back into the fridge they will perk back up.

      @user-qm6uz5vb1v ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheCrossLegacy I do use a salad spinner, and the spinach, arugula and kale has NOT perked up :( Should I experiment with letting it dry a little less. I just lost a bunch of leafy produce and I don't want that to happen moving forward.

    • @TheCrossLegacy
      @TheCrossLegacy  ปีที่แล้ว

      @user-qm6uz5vb1v yes I would see depending on your climate what the happy medium is between dry and dehydrated. Normally for me it's around 3 hours.

    • @user-qm6uz5vb1v
      @user-qm6uz5vb1v ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheCrossLegacy I was just thinking about that. We are on the East Coast and the humidity is definitely much higher than in your area. I am such a rule follower, so when I hear "bone dry" I am really serious about it! I may have to experiment to see what the outcome is for "mostly dry" . . . or move to the West Coast :)

      @user-qm6uz5vb1v I wouldn't suggest moving to the west coast 😂😂😂

    Is there an alternative to vinegar, I detest the smell?

    • @TheCrossLegacy
      @TheCrossLegacy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I used to also but have gotten used to it over the years. For the process I am teaching, it is vinegar so that the produce items are safe to eat killing off harmful pathogens.

    Hi, I followed your instruction for small baby spinach. After 2 hours of drying spinach’s, it started wilting. My husband said it feels old. Until how it looks like, should i dry.

    • @TheCrossLegacy
      @TheCrossLegacy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It doesn't take as long to dry in the summer time and should perk back up when you put it in the fridge.
