    the German incendiary bomb, according to my Mother (Blitz veteran...76 nights), the incendiary was a tube with flights at one end and the other end weighted to smash through roof tiles. They were filled with magnesium and burned like hell. there are several wartime public information films about how to tackle a burning incendiary, a case of DO try this at home.

    The small flaps on the tail are trim flaps, so if the aircraft was flying a bit nose down or up the pilot could alter the trim permanently with a control on the panel without having to hold the rudder in place or keep adjusting it.

    • @garys_stuff

    If you look back at 12.43, 44 you actually get that seat to sit in it's correct position! I've built this model the 2015 Paul defiant kit and it fits no issues! But you did get it to seat at this time stamp I've rewound and watched it a few times seeing what you'd maybe done wrong also it's just slightly to far forward should just be on the edge of that part.ypu have to cut the seat out to fit it against the head rest sits right in between the long amd short further back pad

    • @garys_stuff

      OK but if you have to cut the seat out to fit - surely something is wrong? Or did I miss something?

  • @julianmhall
    @julianmhall ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If that wheel is just behind the pilot's seat, I would /guess it's a manual control for the undercarriage in case the hydraulics failed. I don't /know/ but it's a guess. If it was for the bomb bay you'd have to keep checking if it worked, but the pilot could just say 'Gear is down!' to whoever was on the wheel.

    • @garys_stuff

      @@garys_stuff Re masking cockpits. I had an idea.. unsure of how practical it would be.
      Lay a single piece of masking tape over the entire cockpit then either;
      a) Score through at the edge of each pane and peel the resulting frame off.
      or
      b) Draw with a sharp pencil around the panes, peel the wholetape off and then cut each pane along where you drew to make your own set of masks. Then place each pane on the cockpit.

    • @garys_stuff

      Can't find any dates on the box or instructions! There are many things covered by copyright in the kit - the kit itself, the instruction sheet, the box art and the box design (although the latter might be a design right, I've been out of the legal loop for a while). So there could be a date for the box, a date for the instructions and a different date for the kit itself. I just go by what appears on Scalemates as they seem to track these things really well.
