Its encouraging how you share the positice and negative of a model and tell us not to be intimdated by anty one model go with a positive attitude and build them with confidence
I just try to give people an honest look at any kit, but show that even kits that aren't considered "the best" can still be done well. Thanks for watching!
Great video and a beautiful model. The metallic looks really great. I can't believe it only took you 6 days to create this beautiful model. Good job 😄👍
Incredible job! I very much enjoyed this kit as well. With the vertical stab decals I just cut them in half at the leading and trailing edge of the horizontal stabs. Worked pretty well for me. I did the whole thing as a hand brushed kit, used the newer vallejo metallics for that portion. Didn't come out nearly as good as yours!
been interested in aviation models for a while now your videos gave me the push to go down to my local hobby shop today, starting off my first ever model with a 1/48 USN T-34B Mentor "VT-5 Training Air Wing" figure the "Mentor" will make a great Training aircraft. So many jokes there! will let you know how it goes cant wait to do more!!
The main gear stands too tall, but it is a fun build. I did my own alps printed decals as there are some inaccuracies in the artwork. FYI, this tail was shot down my a MiG-15
Amazing Video! i absolutely love the metal finish on this aircraft, im currently building a 1/48 scale B-24D Liberator and im going to do a metallic finish, so this video helps!
I love this build! I am a model builder as well, I started in 2022. However I am still trying to make my models look more realistic. I was wondering what needle sizes you use, like for large areas, smaller areas, etc. and what airbrush/compressors you would recommend for cost/quality?
So, I have a few different airbrushes that I use, but I find the a .34 needle is the best general purpose airbrush, as for what to buy, my work horse is the Iwata HP-C Plus, but for a more budget friendly airbrush that is still high quality, I would recommend the Gaahleri 98D. Regarding compressors, really as long as it has a tank, you can't really go wrong. If you are in the US, Harbor Freight would be a good place to look.
Can you maybe clarify your question a little? Basically I just used a small brush to paint the details that I wanted, then used a dry brush technique to add a little bit of a high light. That was about it.
@@Borgor_1 Here is a good description of the technique: finescale.com/how-to/2022/06/how-to-dry-brush-paint-on-a-scale-model This will explain it better than I can.
I like this plane so far. I want as a die cast model.
Very decent looking Thunderjet with a classy finish......really enjoyed that 👌🏻👏🏻👍🏻
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching!
Dang, your build made me want to build it too! Good work and awesome finish.
You should!!
That is amazing work. For a very inexpensive kit, it came out awesome.
Thanks a bunch!

The metallic looks really great. I can't believe it only took you 6 days to create this beautiful model. Good job 😄👍
Thank you! Yeah, its a pretty simple kit, so much of the time was spent painting, but still went pretty quickly!

Thats smart about cutting the decals, I didn't even think of that!
This kit looks intense! I look forward to watching you build it, your work is amazing
Thanks a bunch!
That turned out nice! Sometimes less is more!
Thank you!
Love the finish!! ❤ I've wanted to try a nmf but can't quite commit. One day, but not soon lol!
This project went a long way to helping me build my confidence with NMF!
The Academy/Italeri kit of the F-84E/G is also a good option with nice detail, good fit and a reasonable price (at least in Europe)
Good to know, I'll have to check it out!

What do you use for thinning black base? Should any enamel thinner work fine with that?
I use Mr. Leveling Thinner to thin the Alclad Black base, it seems to work really well. I haven't tried enamel thinners with it though.
....ALCLAD красивенькоооо смотритсяяяяя...
have you builted a 135R MOTEL IN 1\72 SCALE
I have not but I would really love to!
Meraviglioso. Adesso devo assolutamente sostituire il mio modello Heller con questo. =/\=
Ooooh shiny!
I assume this is their version of the Airfix starter kit models, you did make it look really nice though. Regards...
Yeah, I think that would be a fair comparison.
How do you use the brush on the cockpit detail?
Can you maybe clarify your question a little? Basically I just used a small brush to paint the details that I wanted, then used a dry brush technique to add a little bit of a high light. That was about it.
@@HammerheadModelMaking Well when you use the dry brush (I think) to brush the control panel the white-tracer line start to appear
Around 3:53

my granddad flew these and he passed on an old wooden model of one to me. I still have it on my shelf.
Thats a great thing to have of his!
I have to admit that the phrase "Olive Drab Highlights" highly amusing as an oxymoron.
Yes, from a color theory standpoint it is amusing.
The trim tabs on the wings were damaged :( I guess it still comes on a plastic tray.
Yeah, it does come in a plastic tray.
