I'm making my own product. Just mixing various oils in a double boiler until they're hot to touch and letting them cool. Usually, about 4 to 6 ounces when I'm done and I just keep it in a mason jar on my bathroom counter.
My beard is tightly curled like a corkscrew and it's only about 10 months old.

    Two questions:
    1. Should I buy a beard balm for after shower and keep beard oil for daily morning usage?
    2. What should I apply before and/or after blow dryer? I think it "stresses" the hair, I dont want to "burn" them.
Thank you. Awesome channel. Beard on.

The main purpose of using a blowdryer with heat, after applying product that contains wax, is to melt the wax. This allows for better application and distribution of the product. While heat blowing, comb or brush with a tightly tined comb or good brush (I prefer boar's hair).
Blow drying or hot brushing against the grain on shorter beards can have bad consequences for some men. You can lose accumulated directional training and gain a bush of flyaways.

My beard absolutely does not go straight. Its very curly. However, for guys like me the best thing is to do the method in this video to take as much curl as you can ojt of it and try to shape it so the curls at least stay in a shape instead of bushy and wild. I'm a big fan of trying to straighten it out into a pointier shape instead of the full thick beard like this gentleman has. Helps to keep all the hair in one place If it has a good shape to conform to

Do you blow dry everytime in the morning? Or will that ruin the hairs? My beard is really curly. I don’t mind the curls but it makes it shorter then the hairs actually are because their curled in.

What about if u got a thinner beard and the hair in the back ( closer to neck line ) curls up instead of growing down..

I'm at the 3 month mark, going for your general shape... I'm apprehensive about doing the first trim/ shape .... any advice?
