Drew, First time viewing . I have a 68 912 and have had 3 964's in the past. What I would like to see you do is a Backdate. I get more looks and attention in my long hood than I get in my 04 Turbo. What I miss in the 68 is AC , 964 power, power steering, brakes, and overall reliability. If I had to do it over it would be a Long Hood Backdate. Complete with all the Chrome accents. Leave it Green for sure, Sport seats with a Plaid Insert, carry the theme across the dash and door panels, Tan Leather for sure. Do it like that and I'll buy it when it's done. Interested in a Basalt Black with Natural Brown and Black interior? It is an 04 Turbo with a X50 package. Tiptronic however.
Looks like a great project Drew, looking forward to seeing the progress. On the single stage paint, I would expect a metallic to be clear over basecoat so might not be a respray? I’m not familiar with Porsche paint systems though and could be wrong.
Creepy, I was just thinking about you yesterday wondering if you dropped TH-cam. I’m partial to Sleeper’s clean builds. Drop it a hair with Ohlins dampers, put on a set of 18” silver BBS RS’s, and add a balsa shift knob. That Oak Green is an epic color.
Keep the principal build the same as the oak (refinish the wheels, respray the body oak). Your opportunity here IMO is to do something fun with the interior. They brown leather swatchs you were mocking up for the oak car look really cool. Maybe a custom half cage for the back with some unique bodywork that integrates it all with the rest of the interior? Perhaps a unique material for the horizontal dash plate that runs the length of the dash? The options are endless.

Cool project, excited to see fresh Cooled Collective content. GO OAK GREEN METALLIC!

Did I tune into Hoovie's Garage?
1:26 No way that a metallic paint is single stage. They always got the clearcoat instead the pastel colors, in the past, hadn't
Bbs LMs with gold centers
