I was at a cars and coffee where a guy brought one in a trailer! He was talking about he has the Patent on the colour and will sue anyone whom has it. I said the frequency of light that isn't absorbed by the paint can change without the eye picking it up so it is kind of useless. He, and everyone else around got mad at me. Nice. I suspect this is the reason why Singer makes people film the production in black and white.🙄

It's great. I hope performance cars can heal from the disease of more more more. We don't need 1000+hp that then choked back by electronics pushing a 1600kg+ car. I've had a go in those kinds of things, and I can honestly say the most fun I've ever had in a car was a BMW E30 with a later engine swapped in. Probably just 200hp to the tire, 975kg, little wheels and a nice 5 speed.

First and only one I've ever driven was this white turbo. Drove it around Daytona Beach, and pulling through the old S curves to get on the bridge to the beach is a sensation I'll never forget.
I was trying to be cynical, especially given the price tag, but I can't be. It's just incredibly well done. The intakes in the shark-fin stone-chip guards and bare carbon edge of the spoiler, the slimmed, smoothed bumpers... Nailed it.
Singer are making the cars we all wish still existed as standard (or at least the car fans watching this video). I would take this car with half the ability of this any day over a modern version. Can I have the green one please?

Singer makes what you could describe is a condenced essence of classic aircooled 911, wrapped in an easily consumable package, and that's great. I love that they went further and explored 930 Carrera Turbo, not just classic Carrera, it looks stunning. Their other experiments are very interesting too, the DLS Williams engine is just perfect. But it makes me wonder what else do they have on a plate for the future. Surely their cars are based on a 964 but would they do a love song for a 964 too? Maybe some other classic Porsche models with a unique Singer touch, like 928 or 924-968? Obviously with their boutique pricing and waiting list they're pretty packed for a forseeable future with what they have in their roster atm, but there's no limit to creativity and you can't make too many of the same art piece anyway, that would be wasteful
Happiness is a 935DP spec’d out by Walter Wolf. But in an emergency this will suffice. Honestly on the car here in the video I would have eliminated the back seats and put in a setup like the Shelby’s rear seat delete and just carpeted it so you can throw a couple of bags in the back. What I love about Singer is the doors it opens. You don’t need the absolute best starting point for max speed. They’re not insane tuner cars. They’re what you might call Idealized Stock. And the Singer treatment could go with any car. Imagine a Singer Miata. A Singer S2000. A Singer Corvette. Not chasing 1,000 horsepower or track records. Just imagining what should have been. A C4 or C5 Corvette given the Singer treatment. Just imagine how glorious that would be.
9:14 3500rpm refers to boost threshold, lag is the ‘generous’ amount of time from wherever you are in the revs until you hit that 3500ish point of adequate ‘spoolage’ to make boost. Narc max, I’m well aware. This machine is such a cool way of honoring the look back/move forward spirit of the 911 !
Personally I prefer the green model, but do love the white cars turbo decal (stripe down the sides) The classic style seats and the fake impact bumpers also work. The DRL's make the headlamp bowl look weird and I would have relocated that to the impact bumper (just my preference) This is the nicest singer I have seen, but then again I am a 911 turbo ex owner and huge fan! The only annoying part is the reference to the '930 turbo'. It is either a 930, or 911 turbo, thanks! Otherwise, great video.

I like it very much! The looks of the body, the lightness and the engine are stunning, but the lack of sidewall on the tires just looks wrong to me. A lot of restomods have that problem in my opinion. I know handling sucks with a higher sidewall, but these are just my thoughts about it

Singer have obviously invested time and effort into the development of this 964 conversion. The journalist could have pointed out however, that if you are able to do a run of over say 30 cars, the costs of scale should bring the costs down to say Retropower levels... Obviously, if the punters are happy to let go of an extra 800K, then bravo Mr D !
Scale cost savings only really apply when you have at least semi-automated assembly lines and tooling. There are minimal scale savings when a/ most of your workflow is done by human craftspeople (who deserve to be well-paid for their efforts!) and b/ each car is delivered to a customer's personalized specification.
My good friend Scooter is a Porsche enthusiast. He has three Porsches in his garage... one is a restoration project, one is his personal vehicle, & the 3rd is his father's. They are beautiful cars and look like from the future! 🚗
Am I the only one who kind of hates backdating? This Turbo is certainly waaaay better than previous overchromed Singers, but I kind of like the stock look of the 964 Turbo. It reminds me of the aerodynamic look that my dad’s old 944 Turbo had, which was a product of the same era. I just don’t get why anybody would buy a ‘newer’ car just to make it look old.
Singer has always started with 911 blocks, but then used various engine builders to re-build (re-imagine?) those engines. Originally Ed Pink Motors, and later Cosworth (including for those bonkers DLS powerplants).

This is the direction top gear shouldve taken for the show after the main trio left. May not as been as popular but wouldve educated a lot fo us.
My good friend Scooter is a Porsche enthusiast. He has three Porsches in his garage... one is a restoration project, one is his personal vehicle, & the 3rd is his father's.

Am I the only one who kind of hates backdating? This Turbo is certainly waaaay better than previous overchromed Singers, but I kind of like the stock look of the 964 Turbo. It reminds me of the aerodynamic look that my dad’s old 944 Turbo had, which was a product of the same era. I just don’t get why anybody would buy a ‘newer’ car just to make it look old.
I'm glad Singer is using 911 engines now. Weren't the first ones Cosworth?
Singer has always started with 911 blocks, but then used various engine builders to re-build (re-imagine?) those engines. Originally Ed Pink Motors, and later Cosworth (including for those bonkers DLS powerplants).
