    Man, everytime that I see your videos I get jealous. I'm a Brazilian fan and I'm always showing your videos to my friends who like the idea of customize their motorcycles, but here is really hard to do that, there's a lot of burocracy and parts are really expensive or hard to find, but someday I hope that I'll be there building custom bikes and riding without caring about being robbed in each street signal that I stop. Btw nice video!

    that's why i grease up my axles now. my xr200r is the same way but my swing arm lets the axle slide back. my tires are way worse 0 nobs and hard rotted😆

    Using a sealed bottle as a fuel tank will create a vacuum as the fuel drains and starve the engine of fuel. If you poked a hole in the top of the bottle you could have road a few miles without a problem 👌

    Well you rode it . Right on !. I bought a honda cm250c 1982 for 100 bucks. This bike kinda looks bad been in the guys back yard for a long time . Only has 16000 on it so i think the motor will be good. Missing some parts like shifter peddle , brake peddle, and the carburator. I am really excited to restore the bike as a tracker . Just wondering if you could help me along the way. This will be my first build. Where is a goodd place to get parts online........Thanks!

    Good job! I'm fixin one up myself but it's in slightly better condition than yours was. Nice music too!
    I just finished up making a tool box and tools and mounting the box so the tools come out on the
    muffler side of the bike. I have no idea where the tool kit was originally and one needs a tool kit for
    removing the spark plug and adjusting the chain tension and general roadside repairs. Your vise
    is quite interesting too, never seen one like it. I'm going to lube up the axle shafts with grease to
    stave off corrosion when I get that far.

    My brother had one of these as his first bike. We called it the "Tough Shit" 185. It blew up within 3 hours of owning it, and it had a huge hole in the headpipe, no brakes, handled like a pregnant whale, and the suspension was just for show. It was terrible.
    We loved it.

    I'm willing to bet with a petcock and gas in the tank it would stay running longer, assuming there is no vent in that bottle you were using there would be a suction effect that would not let the fuel gravity feed like it should

    A better way to check the wheel bearings is to wiggle the wheel from side to side, if it wiggles its bad. Thats how i found out that mine were bad.

    Multiple heating and rapid cooling cycles (ice water or that super cold spray stuff, forget what its called), and pb blaster left to soak for a day or a few applications - likely would have freed that rear axle without damage.

    Hello, I’m in the middle of restoring a 1981 TS185, all has been going well. I may have more questions for you down the road, but my first question is what air filter did you use? And could you possibly provide a link for it? My air box is completely missing and i don’t want to fork up for one

    I just restored a 78 pe250 in a little better shape but I broke the rear brakes because I didn't notice that big bar in the back. The nut holding it on the hub was loose and fell out while I was riding then the hub moved and snapped the cable. Epic fail. Gotta love drum brakes.

  • @jordanprato151
    @jordanprato151 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great job man! Kind of hard to tell what is idle and what is with throttle but It seems to be idling high. Even though two strokes scream it should be pretty timid at an idle and more of a rumble as opposed to already screaming -it should be probably idling at half that rate. Because it is idling so high, on top of the revs, it basically wants to wheelie when you engage the clutch. I know there is no tachometer and as silly as it sounds "listen" to a few other youtube TS185 start ups for something to go off of. You are probably idling at 3000-4000 rpms and most bikes suggest 1200.
    Hopefully the running issue is more of the water bottle not flowing well as opposed to something else. Can't wait for more!

    • @GoldGuyRides
      @GoldGuyRides  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah something is definitely wrong with the idle, I'll get it sorted out!

    oh my god i cant believe that you install that rear bearing. after you hit that pity rear axle. you should replace it i think.
    and you should put some grease on the new rear axle, so it can run smoother, and it will be so much easier to remove it next time ;)
    after this, just try to remove your rear axle, you will find some rust and it is hard to remove because you didnt put some grease on it LOL
    it such a great idea to put 2 rolls of tape to make the seat settled :D
    btw you have some big bike on your garage. what are them?
