    Should have cleaned that chain and sprocket up while they were off. Also I thought those engines take 850ml which isn't a full quart. Best to always just use the sight glass. Fill it up till you see it come up to the top line, then run the bike for a 5-10 minutes. Shut it off and let it sit for another 5-10 and check sight glass and add from there if needed.

    If the cylinder is fine you could just replace the piston and valves. And then use a dremmel to smooth Down the head. And make a aluminium plate and weld it on to the case to stop the leak. To me it seems like a waste of money. But i dont blame you for not wanting to do the extra work especially when you have the ts 185

    • @saifsaid6705
      @saifsaid6705 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      It seems as though we are the last of a dying breed. I was thinking something very similar to what you just said. I try not to replace things unless they are missing or unsalvageable. Would have made for a far more interesting video, but as is the video was decent. Plus the people who gave him the bike for repairs likely payed for whatever parts were needed so I guess it makes more sense to go with the route that makes it easy for you if money is no object.

    • @mattcyr3342
      @mattcyr3342 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No way. That engine has small metal particles all in the oiling system. Youd need to pull it apart and clean cases. That head is fucked too. Cant just smooth out heads with a fuckin dremel all willy nilly. Dont spread hack fasle information.

    I can't believe you just let the engine hang there with nothing holding it when you were removing it, lucky it didn't fall, it would have defo needed another engine lol, tbh it would have been cheaper to split the engine and replace the casing and buy a new piston kit, a couple of valves and gained more experience. Small engines are a GREAT way to learn. Next time you strip an engine make sure you unwind or remove the Cam Chain Tensioner, it will help ALOT.

      I know what you mean, I'm saying that 4 strokes have no sense specially on competition bikes, and specially if they have small displacement. Lots agree but it's most a matter of taste

    This kid doesn’t deserve a bike if he even doesn’t take care of it. Just look at the chain!!

    No No No.... Looking from the "wrenching" you did, your boyfriends sisters, son is lucky you only replaced the engine and not did any actually work on it. Get a workshop manual. That is ALWAYS the corect way to start the work you are about to do.
