Awesome video Great history lesson 9:36 As a Jewish lego fan, I found this pretty interesting, I didn't know before that that was the origin of fish and chips This modular is beautiful! I love the tudor style Definitely one of my new favorites The hat store and clock shop are amazing and unique shops, the pub is great With a hat store I was hoping for new hat molds, but it doesn’t seem like there will be any. I wish it wasn’t a corner building, we need a 32×32 one building modular that fills the baseplate. Hopefully next year
These history lessons are rapidly turning Brick Fanatics into my favorite LEGO channel. Thanks for giving so much background on these sets! So much deeper than just talking about the product itself, and makes me appreciate the set even more!
@@brick_fanatics but that guy never posts anymore! He had a kid and let his youtube channel languish cause he wanted to be a "present father" or something stupid like that.
You missed the history of chimney sweeping (and why it is associated with the brtish.) after the great fire of london british chimneys were made smaller and narrower (to prevent chinmney fires) this alongside the switch to coal during the industrial revolution meant that chimney sweeps were very common in Victorian times.
As to alcohol in LEGO sets, they did do "Barrel Escape" for the Hobbit, a scene completely centered around wine, and they even had one of the elves with an unmistakable "drunk" face. I feel that one's way more on the nose than this one. Cause even if a Pub's main function is beer, it's not its only function (I'm not a drinker, but when I'm in Britain I have to go to a pub for fish and chips at the least)
Wonderful to see this depth of direction in a set towards real history and the UK, Britain, England. Especially that Lego throw so much in every way towards America, exclusives, comic cons, cheaper sets etc
Tower Bridge came out in 2010 and Big Ben/Elizabeth Tower in 2016. Several architecture sets as well. I hope they keep them coming! I have an entire British/London LEGO display with the Beatles Yellow Submarine set as well!
This might or might not be the best modular, but your review is the best of the several I’ve already seen today! I also enjoyed your history about Shackleton in your Endurance review.
Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge and passion about the inspirations behind this set. It’s a wonderfully unique and insightful take on the usual Lego reaction video (which I enjoy as well)!
Great video. I like how diverse the last few modulars have been but it does create a situation where they look rather awkward sitting next to each other. The museum and tudor corner look odd together and then there's the garish red and yellow Jazz club and then the very Spanish style boutique hotel. Altogether a rather crazy street
First impressions: it's an absolutely charming set, which is going to fit in really well with the "historic European city" layout that I'm working on. I really enjoyed your history lesson too btw - which is the other thing I appreciate about this set. There's the "real life" social history side, but the name of the establishment also harks back to a certain fan favourite set of the 1980s. It makes you wonder whether there's an "in-universe" story behind its origins!
Cool, but a few problems with the build if that’s the real history…. Firstly, the kitchen area should really have a coal fired stove and fryer. More authentic that way. Second, the clock on the exterior of the second floor, while nice, really is too big to fit on a 2x2 plate with octagonal ring. Either that, or the ring needs to be smaller on that ring plate. Not really a knock on the set, I just wish I could fit it to the ship wheel clock in the dinning hall on my Lego Ocean Liner, the LRPS Bricktannic! And third, where’s the fishsticks element? I mean, clearly that’s bacon on the plate, not fish, so where is the fishsticks element? Also, why are there no potatoes? Anyways, those are just my nitpicks. Enjoy the set everyone. Oh, and to all the British people watching this, I am so sorry for what Starmer has caused, and if I could do anything to help, I would. Sadly, I’m an American, and we have a Declaration of Independence which says that America is not British. So, in other words, we have no authority in your elections. Again, sorry. Rockatoa, Brickticks out! Oh, and remember, for the disabled, it’s really embarrassing and insulting to be disabled, so maybe don’t point it out, OK? In fact, try not to draw attention to it period. The disabled really hate it when people point it out. Totally embarrassing.
This might well be the last actual Lego set I will buy because they are becoming so ridiculusly expensive. A heartfelt Thank you for lecturing me as a german about british / english history, didn´t know how little I know about that time.
My history teacher said that the Italians brought fish and chips to Britian or he might mean Scotland because I live there but this modular looks very nice and one of my favourites they have made, can’t wait to get it! :)
I remember the first time I visited a pub to buy some lunch with my kids and the waitress almost jumped out of her chair to stop me from entering the pub 😂. Great to see Lego bending their rules here
After the Notre Dame, would love to see the mosque of Mecca in Lego form. There have been some fake-Lego brands that have tried it, but nothing beats the Lego designers take on things.
I have mixed feelings about this set! On the outside we have 2 separate buildings, but the apartment on the second floor is in both?! Upfront we have a green/orange and then blue/grey, and one apartment is split into those two buildings? Doesn't make any sense. That orange brick I would do either blue as the rest or green as the bottom pub.
I like your history lessons. Keep them coming
Awesome video
Great history lesson

Well personally my favourite LEGO channel is a little one called BrotherhoodWorkshop, so...

Great video, thanks for the detailed assessment. As a fellow Brit, I will 100% be buying this!

Love the little dive into the history behind the lego set, gives it a lot more life!

I now want to know the history of golden battle droid legs in British architecture.
the chimney sweep should have been a child

Amazing set and great history lesson.

I guess Lego are doing a ‘British’ series now with Endurance, the red phone box, Titanic, London Bus, half of Concorde…
And I'm totally here for it!
Half of Concorde

As a Brit, I've wanted a modular British-style pub ever since the Diner, never did I think we'd actually get one though, let alone this good-looking!!
This might or might not be the best modular, but your review is the best of the several I’ve already seen today! I also enjoyed your history about Shackleton in your Endurance review.

This is great - so much more than a basic Lego review. Love it!

As a Brit, this is just a Lego Wetherspoons set and I love it
This was such a nice video to listen to while munching. Thank you for the super nice history lesson!
Your combination of great reviews and very interesting historical background is both unique and greatly appreciated. Thank you for your efforts!
This set is gorgeous, though I have zero connection to England. I love this series of in-depth, historical commentary. Keep em coming!
Great video lots of knowledge

Thank you!
Absolutely gorgeous modular this year. I can’t wait to add it to my collection.
1:47 Only thing missing was a Dart Board.
I was hoping you would zoom out with a beer and chips hehe😊
You could have mentioned Timber Framing with Wattle and Daub for the origins of the painted beams look.
I love the set and your channel
I don’t have any of the Modulars but living in a town with a lot of original Tudor buildings I’m very tempted by this.
I love your history lessons keep them up
that was really neat! Thanks.

Best modular I’ve ever seen

It’s so nice but imagine how cool it would look if they did jettying on the Tudor styles level
You're just an enormous genius, as always.
Not as enormous or genius as you, Maui
Thank you for sharing the history. My family immigrated here to the States in the 17th century
Very cool set!
There's a link between this and the Lego Castle Tavern in the name
Great overview and history lesson ☺️ this will be a day one for me 🇬🇧 best set of 2025🤔time will tell
My history teacher said that the Italians brought fish and chips to Britian or he might mean Scotland because I live there but this modular looks very nice and one of my favourites they have made, can’t wait to get it! :)
How dar you... I really want this more after the history lesson. It is such a nice design
Looks great
I’m in love with it. I sit around drinking beer and eating fish and chips all day. It vibes well.
I haven't bought a modular since 2017.....that might just have to change.

Or the Haggia Sophia
Or dome of the Rock
Both would be somewhat religiously neutral, while showing off cool Islamic architecture
Wonderful
this will be my late Christmas present
British afol here. Had my chimney swept a month ago, and I live in a (faux) Tudor house.
Lego Wetherspoons!
They get around the “not for kids” thing by making it a 18+ set. Same for Red Bull on the F1 18+ sets
This corner could be the beginning of Coronation Street
I can *hear* this comment
I dont think they went for a full on pub i wash they had provided beer pumps and barrels etc
Another cranberry juice, Sgt Angle?
Pub and suggestions of bacon. Will this set be available in Middle East?
Just a comment :)
😁🍻 😁

This entire video is so Bri'ish
