regular homes? these are craft shops in my point of view I love seeing love towards old craft such as clockworkers considering they are either rare or extinct in many places rather see those then shops or jobs sets that are way too oversaturated
not gonna rush to buy this one because I've learned to wait and get these for 25% off, but it's one of the most beautiful modulars ever, the look warms my european heart
In Europe (Switzerand) you can get them up to 50% discount as 'regular' prices in Stores after a few Month. Found lastly one with 75% dicsount in a outlet shop, no brainer to buy it 😅😅
Ideally, Lego would keep the GWP sets out and IN STOCK for at least a month so everyone can have the opportunity to get them. Though, I don't think Lego is ever going to do that because that just makes people not want to buy sets for them since there's no FOMO.
I skipped on the last few but this one looks stellar! The Natural History Museum definitely needed to be taller to look good with other modulars. Thanks for the review!
A gorgeous modular with a decent PPP? Who would have thought? This is right up there with the Parisian Restaurant in terms of curb appeal. A huge step up from recent sets like the jazz club and natural history museum. (The discussion of access reminds me: Jang, have you seen what Funwhole is doing with their latest modulars, where whole rooms slide out for access? Brilliant.)
To touch on what you said, I also used to love the gwp system when it was bags of random fun parts that were widely available, but I agree it has been devolving. Lego’s greed is slowly killing my interest, it’s been sad to watch.
This is kind of a breath of fresh air for the modular series. It doesn't feel inherently tied to a specific era, looks classy, and blends well with the majority of the line. Overall, I'm excited by this one, but completely agree about the GWP program.
Very nice! I don't usually have much interest in modulars but this looks like a good set, and the chimney sweep reminds me of that iconic scene from Mary Poppins💜
This new modular is very nice, but I really wish Lego could bring other stuff to their modular series that goes beyond what they usually release. I mean, we get cafes and restaurants all the time. I wish they could bring some supermarkets, some places selling fruits and vegetables, things like that. Perhaps even a shopping mall or something. Their modular series also misses other kind of things like squares, plazas, parks and so forth. All those things complement well a city, they're part of city life. Not to mention they also don't have a road system that fits their buildings theme. They have their new roads for regular city stuff, but so far, for old base modulars they're still lacking it. The regular city roads don't actually fit the modular bases unless you modify it. As far as I understand, those constructions are based on New England America, cities like NY and Boston in the 50s, 60s perhaps, isn’t it? Most like it would be necessary a stone cobble street sort of thing to match the context.
I love watching your reactions. When they revealed the stair opening to the bathroom I could see you making the connections in your brain. And then the joy when you realized that the doors connected the rooms in such an interesting way. I don't buy these. No space for a city, but your videos really allow us to experience these sets in a fun way.
I love how potentially Lego’s first foray into British architecture (which isn’t a castle, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace or Big Ben/ Elizabeth Tower) is a full on classic British Pub.
Thanks for speaking out against the FOMO GWP's. That sort of thing really saps the fun out of a hobby that should be relaxing and joyful. And it's neither relaxing nor joyful to feel like you're being manipulated so someone can get your money.
For the Endurance, I either had to try to get in the queue at midnight Friday to try and get a lifeboat, or line up at the Lego store in the mall right when they opened on Black Friday….. neither prospect was very enticing to me, so I just decided to forgo the lifeboat and get the set later when it’s convenient
This is peak Lego Modular Building design. It's a new style, it's got a unique colour palette, It looks good by itself and it is absolutely full of cool parts usage. Honestly, I think this would look really good next to the Green Grocer and Café Corner (though it would be obvious how much more detail it has)
It looks an awesome set, I don't really have any modulars but I feel like this might have to be a must purchase! Being British I love the fact that it is not another North American themed building. The attention to detail is so good. The printed piece in the flat with the sunflower lanyard is so important to people with hidden disabilities. My daughter has autism and relies on her lanyand when out of the house!
Totally agree with Jang's opinion about the direction Lego has gone with gifts with purchase. Also, the thresholds to get them have kept rising to ridiculous levels. Nowadays I'm rarely enticed to buy something just to get the GWP, instead I'm now relying on my local Lego Exhibition (Bricks in the Six held now anually in Toronto) where I've been able to buy some at decent prices.
I live in Asheville, NC and this reminds me so much of the tutor style buildings in the Biltmore area that was flooded. I want to get multiple sets to build some homage mocs for buildings like the Grand Bohemian Inn.
Judging just by the photos, and video, this one is an instant classic. Such dense details, but still space to pose minifigs. I can't wait for this one to come out! And agree 100% with the GWP program - buy set X the moment it comes out and get set Y for free "while supplies last". The last 3 were all tied to the set X - and that causes people to visit Lego's horrific and mismanaged website at some late hour in hopes to snag the set. It's sad. This GWP and the botanical gardens GWP both seem awesome and a pure miss for someone who likes both of the big sets and can't get the small GWP that goes well with them. The lifeboat and Cerebro, for me, were easy passes as I didn't like those GWP sets, but I am sure many people do/did, and had to fight with the website and buy the big set to get a chance to "win" the GWP. It should not be like that, and TLG should know better and do better.
Wow, they absolutely nailed this! It's gorgeous. I have just started looking at Funwhole and actually received the Book Cafe, and it looks awesome, but if I get another modular, it may have to be this thing! I have always thought modulars were awesome, but the aesthetics of this one are really exceptional.
At first glance most beautiful modular ever. It makes me sad, because I recently sold all my others, to have more space for my Lego Star Wars collection. Well you cant have anything you want in life, so sometimes you have to make choices.
This looks a step above their other buildings imo. The design is very very well done! I'm into cyberpunk right now but this design is so good I still might pick this up.
It's been a long time since a modular had the same charm and detail as the Parisian restaurant, but this one has it. It's beautiful and full of delightful details! I've still never bought a modular building but I could see this being my first, it is lovely.
If they'd offer the GWP sets for actual purchase as well it'd solve almost all problems with the GWP program, while also filling in a missing low-price-point section of their catalog.
Great set. I think your worry about GWP FOMO wont apply to this. They are doing free with any purchase three days after release so that tells me there’s plenty of stock. Boat GWP was highly specialized for a niche group of collectors, therefore the small production run.
i like the very english vibe this gives off, though it's suburban feel makes me wish for some mid priced modular designs, parks, telephone boxes, cars, houses, smaller shops
I skipped the Natural History Museum, but I might pick this one up. Fact is that LEGO is getting more expensive and I don’t exactly have a lot of space to put large sets like this. Kinda the reason I went back to collecting Hot Wheels.
I agree, sometimes those GWPs can be pretty predatory. I know they got me good with the D&D set (but I do in fact use the mimic chest for its intended purpose of holding my dice set when playing so I'm happy I got it). Luckily this one I think is relatively skippable (unlike what happened for fans of the Endurance), so I think I'll wait until I can find it at a discount or if there's a GWP at some point I'm more interested in.
I'm worried about how far Lego is gonna go with the GWP stuff, like are we gonna get some paid program eventually targeted at adults so you get early access AND some extra special "GWP" sets or something ontop of this? Doesn't feel like a stretch honestly. But otherwise incredible looking set, do not have the room for any of these modulars but I appreciate them all from a distance! lol
It's going to be challenging to match it well esthetically with my Lego modulars, but it sure is beautiful and will work with my Pantasy Baker Street modular for a British scene.
My only complaint is the handcuff chains on the front corner. They don't look great attached like that. That's a bit nit-picky though. It looks excellent. I also like the gold party hat in the GWP
From the moment I saw the leaked pictures of this I thought “that looks like a few funwhole sets I’ve seen that can’t actually be it” well, I am glad I was wrong and that companies like funwhole have pushed Lego to step up. Now they just need to fix their damn prices. Especially after seeing those HORRENDOUS 2025 Star Wars set prices
Love this modular, the GWP is also very nice. I'm not in the modular collecting, using all the space I got for a castle lay out XD. I've not heard about the GWP being a problem like you describe? I don't have space to build a whole city and for that reason I never really look at City sets, but this one caught my eye with its detail and angles, I really like it. I will not buy it though for mentioned reason. I did however budge on the Endurance, I always wanted a nice Lego ship and this one really speaks to me. It looks great. This is what people who are building a city need: more regular homes.
regular homes? these are craft shops
in my point of view I love seeing love towards old craft such as clockworkers considering they are either rare or extinct in many places
rather see those then shops or jobs sets that are way too oversaturated
Buddy I don’t know if this is a Lego comment or a life comment… both need more affordable housing!
Lego city is finally alleviating the housing crisis in Lego city
It's been years since the last time a modular managed to capture that same old charm, imho. This one goes straight up among the greats
Absolutely! Best modular in years.
not gonna rush to buy this one because I've learned to wait and get these for 25% off, but it's one of the most beautiful modulars ever, the look warms my european heart
In Europe (Switzerand) you can get them up to 50% discount as 'regular' prices in Stores after a few Month. Found lastly one with 75% dicsount in a outlet shop, no brainer to buy it 😅😅
on release this have nice gwp with it
Yup, this might be my first modular set. I just love how gorgeous it looks.
Totally agree on the FOMO. It’s not the culture Lego should be cultivating
Ideally, Lego would keep the GWP sets out and IN STOCK for at least a month so everyone can have the opportunity to get them. Though, I don't think Lego is ever going to do that because that just makes people not want to buy sets for them since there's no FOMO.
Thank you for speaking out about LEGO’s deplorable GWP practices.
1:59 I like that you said hoover because that’s what we call it.
Stofzuiger here in the Netherlands, direct translation would be Dustsucker 😋
I think it’s incredible. The chimney cleaner guy reminds me of an episode on this old show I used to watch called Laurel and Hardy.
Laurel and Hardy ranked up there with The Three Stooges when I was a kid.
I don’t collect Modular’s but my god this one is gorgeous
I skipped on the last few but this one looks stellar! The Natural History Museum definitely needed to be taller to look good with other modulars. Thanks for the review!
4:36 what sort of psychopath puts their books on the shelf like that?
LOL.
@@knightsofn1 one that doesn't read but wants people to think they're clever
Can’t show spines for copyright. But i agree. If it’s a legal risk, just put something else on the shelf rather than make unrealistic situations
😂
It is an instant classic, seems like its been a while since we got a real quality modular on the level of paris restaurant.
I think this set looks fantastic, one of the better modulars to come out in a while 👍
A gorgeous modular with a decent PPP? Who would have thought? This is right up there with the Parisian Restaurant in terms of curb appeal. A huge step up from recent sets like the jazz club and natural history museum. (The discussion of access reminds me: Jang, have you seen what Funwhole is doing with their latest modulars, where whole rooms slide out for access? Brilliant.)
I love that slide out design and door opening side system they have for some of their sets like the theatre one!
To touch on what you said, I also used to love the gwp system when it was bags of random fun parts that were widely available, but I agree it has been devolving. Lego’s greed is slowly killing my interest, it’s been sad to watch.
Ditto. I didn't even buy any Lego this holiday season, it was all Funwhole, Cobi, Pantasy, etc.
This is kind of a breath of fresh air for the modular series. It doesn't feel inherently tied to a specific era, looks classy, and blends well with the majority of the line. Overall, I'm excited by this one, but completely agree about the GWP program.
Looks EPIC like the angle of the set great detail awesome minifigs great preview jang
Just when I think I'm out they pull me back in
Actually looks good for the price. Might have to make this my first modular.
Living in Oxford this feels straight from home, love to have a proper England modular.
It may be the only modular I will buy with the exception of the Parisian Restaurant that I already own. Really impressed
Very nice! I don't usually have much interest in modulars but this looks like a good set, and the chimney sweep reminds me of that iconic scene from Mary Poppins💜
This set seriously reminds me of a cafe corner & Parisian restaurant vibe! Definitely brings back a 2000s Lego feel!!! I love it.
This might be the first modular I've been truly tempted to buy, what a beautiful set!
This new modular is very nice, but I really wish Lego could bring other stuff to their modular series that goes beyond what they usually release. I mean, we get cafes and restaurants all the time. Most like it would be necessary a stone cobble street sort of thing to match the context.
This is a return to form for the modular line after a few years of wandering in the desert.
Yes. This is the finest modular since Assembly Square.
Thanks for the nice review! I’m not even a modular collector and I think this is beautiful & unique!
I love watching your reactions. When they revealed the stair opening to the bathroom I could see you making the connections in your brain. And then the joy when you realized that the doors connected the rooms in such an interesting way. I don't buy these. No space for a city, but your videos really allow us to experience these sets in a fun way.
It's a pretty cool building, nice looking too, anyone collecting these modular sets over the years must now have a big city block at this point!
I'm not sure if I will buy it.....but I LOVE IT!!!!!! It makes me happy :)
I love how potentially Lego’s first foray into British architecture (which isn’t a castle, Tower Bridge, Buckingham Palace or Big Ben/ Elizabeth Tower) is a full on classic British Pub.

Another really good modular.
One of the best looking modular buildings in ages! I'll almost certainly get this one.
Who arranges their books like that?!😂 Madness in the LEGO studio houses..
As a fellow brit, having a nice pub is great! Might go for this set as well.
Wow… I’m amazed by how gorgeous it looks… okay I definitely will be buying this one.
Not a modular building collector, but I admire them from afar. and this one has a lot to admire!
I really like the facade but I wish they didn’t put an angle on the building and maximized the footprint.
Oh this is fantastic and I need. I have always wanted a tudor home. Didn't work out but now it will. !yes
Totally agree with Jang's opinion about the direction Lego has gone with gifts with purchase. Also, the thresholds to get them have kept rising to ridiculous levels. Nowadays I'm rarely enticed to buy something just to get the GWP, instead I'm now relying on my local Lego Exhibition (Bricks in the Six held now anually in Toronto) where I've been able to buy some at decent prices.
i think we're entering a new era of modular's with this one!!!
this is my new favourite looking modular building, really is a great execution and nice variation of style and colours.
This is simply wonderful. My first ever day-one purchase I think
Great that you’ll buy and review it. Thanks so much Jang!
I live in Asheville, NC and this reminds me so much of the tutor style buildings in the Biltmore area that was flooded. I want to get multiple sets to build some homage mocs for buildings like the Grand Bohemian Inn.
Best modular since the diner
This might become my first modular. I find it really charming
Judging just by the photos, and video, this one is an instant classic. Such dense details, but still space to pose minifigs. I can't wait for this one to come out! And agree 100% with the GWP program - buy set X the moment it comes out and get set Y for free "while supplies last". Great design and attentional to detail, exactly what a Lego set needs!
Thank you for reviewin this so early!
I really like this, also it’s one of those sets which really feel at least for me like a moc. Also interior is amazing love the detail
Feels like a classic one, good stuff
Really neat build and it seems reasonably priced too.
It's been a long time since a modular had the same charm and detail as the Parisian restaurant, but this one has it. It's beautiful and full of delightful details! I've still never bought a modular building but I could see this being my first, it is lovely.
i like this set idea, also love the stairs on side of it.
I’m excited for this one. Love the color. Love the greenery on the building.
The GWP is nice too. Anyone else think of Tom Servo when they saw it?
The blue building reminds me of the alternate build for the Cafe Corner with its shape and colors
If they'd offer the GWP sets for actual purchase as well it'd solve almost all problems with the GWP program, while also filling in a missing low-price-point section of their catalog.
I like it! Can't wait to see you build it.
I've never bought a modular, but this one I might have gave to get, especially being British it reminds of a nice corner pub in London
I'll have to get this one, it should go well with Assembly Square
Just the outside look is amazing edit: haven't seen the inside yet
Great set. I think your worry about GWP FOMO wont apply to this. They are doing free with any purchase three days after release so that tells me there’s plenty of stock. Boat GWP was highly specialized for a niche group of collectors, therefore the small production run.

Yep agreed about the FOMO and also the pricing situation. But the set looks fine.

It's going to be challenging to match it well esthetically with my Lego modulars, but it sure is beautiful and will work with my Pantasy Baker Street modular for a British scene.
Thank you, Jang 🙏🏻
That brand new Lego modular building looks great. I don't know why, but it somehow reminds me of the Mark Twain house in Hartford, Connecticut.
Very nice set, will be in my city in the future.
This gives me 70s 80s vibes. I really like it and the price is not bad. I want it. Would be my first.
My only complaint is the handcuff chains on the front corner. They don't look great attached like that.
That's a bit nit-picky though. It looks excellent.
I also like the gold party hat in the GWP
I love it. Great price
I wish Lego would do a traditional mansion!
I love the Bacon and egg 🍳 🥓
A British pub in lego I love it
Love the look of this. I know a pub when i see one lol
Better imo! Only Boutique Hotel has been a 'green' for me in the last 6
From the moment I saw the leaked pictures of this I thought “that looks like a few funwhole sets I’ve seen that can’t actually be it” well, I am glad I was wrong and that companies like funwhole have pushed Lego to step up. Now they just need to fix their damn prices. Especially after seeing those HORRENDOUS 2025 Star Wars set prices
Great modular
very beautiful build and the price is surprisingly not insane
Love this modular, the GWP is also very nice. I'm not in the modular collecting, using all the space I got for a castle lay out XD.
I've not heard about the GWP being a problem like you describe? What is going on there? Also website worked just fine when I ordered the Endurance. Maybe there is a difference between the national versions of the website?
I do am of the opinion that GWP should come to the store as regular sets after a period.
It klooks great. Best modular since the French Restaurant in mu humble opinion 5bookstore was great too tho). I don't really mind about the plain side since it is the "connection" side with other buildings.
Looks good to me and I like the choices for businesses like the clock maker and the hat seller.

I don't have space to build a whole city and for that reason I never really look at City sets, but this one caught my eye with its detail and angles, I really like it. I will not buy it though for mentioned reason. I did however budge on the Endurance, I always wanted a nice Lego ship and this one really speaks to me. I ordered it 8 hours after the sale gone live and just received it, including Shackletons lifeboat, the record player and the train. It's also the first time I bought something directly from the Lego website. Did I just get lucky or have they maybe increased their gift sets quantity?
Seems inspired by FunWhole! It's great!
Dropping truth about the status of GWP's these days.
This looks very british and I love it!
I've felt like the Natural History Museum was too compact. Something with that collection wouldn't have been about the size of a house.
Have Lego not made the GWP for modulars redundant now by making all the modulars exclusive to Lego stores? I used to wait for the modulars to get a price reduction in non-Lego stores before buying, and so they did the GWP to incentivise you to buy it from Lego for full RRP, but now they are exclusive anyway they don't even have to dangle that carrot.
4:29 that’s an unusual way to store your books…
First one in a while to tempt me. £50 more than the last one I bought, so that sucks. But I do need a corner to finish my display…
