I'd be upgrading from the S750H, which sounds great for movies (in my mind), but mediocre for music... It'll be either the Marantz or the X1800H for a little bit of savings. Yes, I think that would be a great system! Plus, with the Cinema 70s, you always have the option of powering ALL of your speakers with external amps, if you decide to upgrade speakers later on down the road. Options are best! 😁🎉

I'm not too familiar with the Bose Acoustimass systems, but I imagine if you still like the sound of those Bose speakers, they do allow that system to work with another receiver. The AN-1000 would go well, I would think.
Pioneer all the way. It’s more updated, supporting HDMI 2.1, 8K/60Hz, 4K/120Hz and Next gen gaming features that the Sony doesn’t have since it’s many years older. 👍
Hi. I have the sony hta9 which I like but feel it lacks quality. I am thinking of upgrading to the new sony 3000 receiver. Have you heard both and would the receiver with good speakers be much better and worth the upgrade. And why does receiver do spacial 360 mapping if all channels are wired.... thanks
I’ve tried several times to acquire an HT-A9, but to no avail. 😭 But with that being said, a traditional wired system will still be superior to a soundbar since you’re dealing with speakers that have larger woofers, especially when it comes to a subwoofer. Soundbars are popular since the setup is quick and convenient, but still don’t have the overall power and fidelity of a wired system. But most these days would rather settle for convenience than put in the extra effort of dealing with speaker wires. 🤷♂️ With that being said, if you still want the convenience factor, a Sonos system is one of the best on the market today for both movies/TV/music listening (Sonos Arc, 2 Era 300s for surrounds, and Sub Gen 3). But if you still want to go down the traditional route, the AZ3000ES receiver can still do 360 Spatial Sound Mapping since its software based, and performs a series of tones and measurements to create a 3D bubble of sound based on where your wired speakers are located. Pretty cool tech. 🙌
I have the Klipsch Reference 5.1 Home Theater System with 2x R-625FA speakers, which blow my mind, and a very large open room. A Yamaha TSR-5830 powers the speakers. Soon I will be getting an 80+ inch TV. Do I need a pre-amp? What receiver would you recommend?
I don’t think so, IMO. Those speakers will be perfectly powered by the AVR. 🙌 If and when you upgrade speakers that can handle more power, you’ll want to invest in a preamp. 🤘
@@ealanosborne Thank you for your expert opinion! I don't feel like I lack any power but I'm not an audiophile or expert. The system can definitely be turned up to the point of overwhelming. Maybe five channel isn't very popular but I will say it's a much better balance system. Seven channel is not a very balanced system. I would say if you had a five and you wanted to upgrade. You should go to a 9.4 which is a much better balance and more agile system. You can run 9.4 very balanced and have a very solid soundstage. Or end up with a 5.4.4 which is extremely balanced for not a whole lot of money. Also when it says it is 90 watts per channel it is running stereo two channels driven. It also is 90 Watts at very very short time like a millionth of a second. If you have seven channels and you think it's running 90 watts per channel you're out of your mind if you're lucky you're probably getting 35 or 40 watts per channel.
Good to know! I’m trying to get my hands on an AV41 in the next month or so. I’m hoping that happens, since it’s been about a year and half with my IOTA AVX17. Running a TH-cam channel, I’m itching for some change/an upgrade, you know? 😁🤞🤞
What could be enough power for B&W 685 S2 in front with an AS 608 Sub-woofer in a average size room? (2.1 I lean more to music and was thinking about the Marantz Cinema 60)

The only drawback with the Stereo 70s is that it doesn’t support Dolby Digital or DTS, only 2-channel PCM signals. True, if the subtle differences (Marantz’s words, BTW) that an HDAM amp provides is important to you - mainly for music listening - then sure, you might want to look at the Cinema 60 or above. But that’s only if you’re using the internal amps. The 70s’s 50 wpc rating isn’t enough in my case, so that’s why I use external amps exclusively with it. I think that’s the point of the 70s, too, essentially being a less expensive, slim version of the 60 that most who buy it will end up using external amps, so HDAM doesn’t apply anyway. I’d rather save some money and use external amps than rely on the internal amps of the 60.

I’d rather save some money and use external amps than rely on the internal amps of the 60.
Does that mean you like them. I’m trying to decide on an upgrade. At this moment I’m between Onkyo RZ-50 and the Cinema 60. Trying to hold off until January but I can hardly wait.
@@lesliefortier6595 I do like the Cinema 70s very much! It’s perfect for my open concept living room, since I can’t go all crazy with a 9.2.6 system (for example) with the layout of my living room. 5.1.2 works just fine.
@@ealanosborne Is the power sufficient for a KEF speaker system including Carina II’s, LS50 and C100? I’m trying to settle on one thing without the expectation of adding on outside amp. Cinema 60 would give me double the power and slightly better quality due to HDAM. I will not be buying either until I find a deal I like. Thanks for replying.
I do like listening to music very much. That’s how I became an audiophile. Mostly jazz and blues! Thanks again
When will you review Nakamichi Dragon?

Hooray!! 😁
There really is no Atmos with 7 channels. You need 11. 7 for the bed. 4 for the ceiling.
