    I've owned the Yamaha Rx-V385 since late 2019. It is AMAZING for the price. The built in DAC is top notch. Built in EQ etc etc etc.....I love the sound for music and movies. When you add in Yam's reliability you can't beat it. PS: I'm Canadian (Canadian $) and was lucky I bought mine pre inflation for $297 CANADIAN $ including all taxes from an actual store, not online....LOL

    I don't understand why super-budget AVR's mix 5-way posts with spring clip. Might as well have all spring clip and make the chassis smaller if possible. If anything, you more need the large binding posts for the surround channels to use larger gauge wire for the longer distance.

    I have a question I have a 5.1 system that was working fine at my previous house I set it up in the new house and my rear satellite speaks crackle a little when I first start a show or movie but it cleans up after 1 minutes or 2 it all so does it if a pause or extended time the only thing I've change in the system is the two rear speaker wires are from a new wire roll that a thicker gauge wire.

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      How thick is the gauge? But regardless, crackling usually has to do with connection, so it may be stemming from the speaker wire itself, or the connection.

    My “listening area” is just under 150 sq ft. If I were to start over I’d grab that Anthem, Polk Reserves, Emotiva XPA5, Apple 4K TV, and another Sony 800m2 (just to stir the pot - y’all know what I mean 😉). Quality over quantity. I doubt I would miss the heights much. Pricey, yet simple, setup. But it would check all the boxes. Cheers everyone! Enjoy your weekend!

    hi, I'm very confused, I don't know which receiver to buy, I have an LG OLED C2 83 inch and a 5.1 Polk Audio Signature Elite, 2x es10 2x es20 1x es35 1x hts10, what do you recommend? ps I live in Belgium! I would be happy if you could help me, thanks

      That seems like a great system already. Were you planning on upgrading at this point? Better AVR? More speakers? You already have an EXCELLENT TV, so that’s a great start!

    Another good choice with pre outs for front speakers is the Yamaha RX-V6A although it is a 7.2 unit.

    Avr s670 h or avr 760 h ?please grt

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Those two AVRs have different channel counts. The 670H is 5.2 channel, and the 760H is 7.2 channel. If you want more channels, and Dolby Atmos/DTS:X support, go for the 760H. 🎉

  • @dragonstone6594
    @dragonstone6594 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

    is there an Dolby Atmos AVR with only pre outs?

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yes! It’s called a preamp processor, and they are usually really expensive. Although the cheapest one you can get at the moment is the Emotiva BasX MC1 for $1,099, supports Dolby Atmos and DTS:X, and supports to to 13.2 channels.

    • @dragonstone6594
      @dragonstone6594 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@ealanosborne Thanks for replying. One would think it would be cheaper to get an AVR with only pre outs since the manufacturer doesn't need to include any amps inside. They don't even disclose real RMS numbers for all channels driven with the included amps, which really bothers me!
      And also there's a bunch of good cheap powered speakers out there that could be used with that kind of AVR, to get into a surround sound system for a lot cheaper.
      For example, if the 670€ Yamaha RX-V6A was, lets say, 200€ cheaper by excluding the amps. You could pair that with the Edifier R1280T that sells for 82€ a pair, get 4 sets, and the Edifier T5 sub for 135€. And have yourself a full Dolby Atmos system for 930€.

    • @ealanosborne
      @ealanosborne  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@dragonstone6594 No kidding! I’m also scratching my head with why they haven’t made preamps more accessible to general consumers. Maybe that will start to take hold with more and more people interested in building out a home theater instead of spending money by going to the cinema. 🤷‍♂️
