I used to watch this show as a kid... I really liked it. However, I have never watched it since as I dont want to ruin my memories. Even so, it had some decent songs >_>

Hate to break it to you, but decent songs? No the songs were as awkward and terrible as the rest of the show. Which is of course part of the charm.

As a Canadian from Alberta, I used to watch the heck out of this show when it aired on teletoon. It was cheesy sure, but at the same time, I totally loved it. There was something about it that it had a unique charm that kept you wanting to watch it episode after episode. Great show. ^_^

I dunno about Caddicarus as I've never seen his videos, but Dex has a very Normal Boots comedy style. He'd fit right in on that site along with PBG and Jon Tron.
That's exactly what I thought when I first found Dex through, well, The Dex. They really do have similar comedy and it's pretty awesome.
Well, you should watch one of Caddys videos and compare.
But I'm not here to advertise him though, but I would love to see a video when they do something together even though the chance is low.

For a 1998 show, Keep in mind that back then, rendering a 3d animation would take hours.

Donkey kong country actually aired first on French tv in 1996. In France we also had another donkey kong show called "DKtv", Donkey kong and various other characters from the dk universe were like tv presenters introducing other cartoons.
Should do more of these :D I like your approach to this kind of shows, Dex (especially about the DK series)

To those of you still confused about how DK's hair grew back, the banana Diddy gave to DK happened to be a banana from the tree that grew after Bluster poured the magic potion on the ground. So in other words, the random tree actually *does* have relevance to the plot.

I watched this show when I was a kid and I remember really liking it. I recently found it again on the site where I watch anime but never got around to re-watching it, but now that I've seen this video... I don't think I'll be re-watching it anytime soon

I love the sound effects, I also remember watching this show. It's pretty good when it comes to the cgi at the time.
I think I heard somewhere that this cartoon was originally made in France. Does that explain the cartoon's weirdness? Also, for a TV show in the late 90's, this was pretty good CGI. The only things that had better CGI were movies, which had a bigger budget.
This was everything I wanted it to be and more. And I think I need a gif of that Dex smirk.

I remember loving this show as a kid when I was obsessed with the Donkey Kong Country games. And to be honest I still love it, its super weird... but Im okay with it.

this was awsome, i watched it from start to end.
11:29 bluster kong is thirsty yet asks for the potion instead of water. then he pours it on the ground because he hates DK. but this is the first episode and he says he hates him after only seeing him once and not even being bothered by him.
