Yeah the whole entire ordeal is so strange, like apparently it goes with season 1 to 3 in France but in some localization ones it goes to season 1 to 2 causing season 1 to have so many episodes than season 2.

Nah, the Mexican voice actor does it better, his voice doesn't only fit Diddy way too well, but he can keep his Diddy voice when he sings as well. Check it out.

It seems like they're the only ones who can sing in this (Counting K. Rool as well)
Really shows how far singing talent has fallen by the wayside, when actors get cast in musicals and can't even hit notes.
K.Rool has the issue of having to sing in character like Diddy, but he's much better at finding a balance between the two whereas Diddy leans way closer to character than good singing voice
Worse than characters like Klump and Dixie sing well, but few see

Yep...the DK show was the first show to be amimated with motion capture, and the computer generated effects in the 1993 Super Mario Bros movie actually were groundbreaking, and revolutionized computer effects by creating tools that were used in many other movies afterwards.

I know Vinny will never read this but I hope that one day he learns that emo's progenitor band in Rites of Spring released their seminal work in 1985. Nirvana is NOT a fucking emo band lol, but emo definitely predates this. The Promise Ring's Nothing Feels Good, considered a kind of touchstone in the genre of that era, was also released in 1997. Emo hit the mainstream in the 00s but it existed before then.

I found a comment on an article on RetroJunk on this show from the late Erika Strobel, who was one of the head writers, she explained that the show's French producers were really insisting on the songs and the Canadian crew had no idea why, but she felt the song writers did a great job regardless. She also said that had there been another season they would have done a Christmas special and that the original writers for season 1 had to be fired and their scripts rewritten because they kept putting in really dirty and apparently racist and sexist jokes that weren't appropriate for kids. She also said that despite the show's mixed reputation, she loved working on it and had there been another DK show she would have tried to write for it as well.
Heres one of DIC head writers explaining why some DIC shows had music:
"they could add songs (...) and collect extra residuals from ASCAP/BMI (the group that pays song royalties - DiC makes deals with songwriters to split or sign over the rights to their compositions - exactly the same way that they force the writers and story editors to sign over all rights to their stories.)"
Maybe thats also why the songs are in DK too?

I really hope when he wraps up this series by looking at Season 3's songs, he also reacts to Alex Henderson's animations for Pirate's Scorn and Return to Krocodile Isle.
I've been genuinely waiting for this. The first video was also my first exposure to this and I was pretty blown away.

I think this show's music is actually amazing. Not every song's good but most of the vocal performances are great. Even annoying ones like Diddy or K. Rool manage to sing on key without losing the voice.
I never even knew this show existed apart from the cream pie meme until i saw Vinny stream part 1 but damn some of these songs are fantastic and in all honesty for the time the animation isn't that bad.

So glad Vin reacted to all the songs I grew up with. Didn't grow up with the last season where they changed the model art/animation which I'm curious if he'll react to those also. But for as weird as hell the lyrics are in some of these songs there are some super underrated hits and I'm glad they get more and more recognition.
If I had to rate the singing voices I'd probably go:
