This was my favorite out of the 3 Mario Bros cartoons. Like you said it stayed true to the game more than Super Show did and more than the Super Mario World cartoon. My favorite episodes. Sneak Lying Cheating Giant Ninja Koopas, Do The Koopa, 7 Continents for 7 Koopas(how I learned about the continents of the world by the way) and Super Koopa.

Technically The hammer suit was in SMB3 cartoon in the episode reptiles in rose garden. Mario and Luigi used the hammer suit to sneak on to Bowser’s Airship which was heavily guarded with sledge bros. :P However I was disappointed that Mario or Luigi didn’t throw a single hammer while they were in the hammer suit :(

Another known episode is the one with special guest stars Milli Vanilli. Princess and Cootie Pie were both fans. Princess, Toad, and the Marios went to their concert in the Real World. Koopa crashes the concert and takes the lip sync duo away to his castle in his Doom Ship. The original broadcast had "Blame It On the Rain" in the concert scene. For the DVD release, Dic replaced the song with generic background music. Koopa's dialog was edited. On the DVD, his mouth moves. He says, "_____ __ __ ___ ____? Blame it on the Koopa!". The original dialoge referenced the song. He said, "Blame it on the rain? Blame it on the Koopa!" A little bonus fact. The Princess was voiced by Tracy Moore, who be the first voice of Dic's English reversion of Sailor Moon. She also did other Dic shows like Beverly Hills Teens.

It's impressive how well this cartoon has aged, it has its flaws but it really is the most solid of the Mario cartoons
