The problem with iron it is a radical oxidant so not good for the body. One of the first discoveries in anti aging research was that borderline anemia is associated with life extension. Food for thought. NAD+ and CoQ10 are great for energy. B12 shots rock! My next door neighbour and good friend is a Registered Nurse RN who gives me regular shots. Folic acid is great for CFS too.
Iron infusions are great. Only issue is one potential side effect if it goes wrong - permanent discolouring / staining of the skin which is considered a serious complication that requires you to acknowledge with a tick when you sign a consent form for the infusion.
Yeah, iron infusions can have downsides. That's why it's important to talk to a (good) doctor about these sorts of things, and whether the procedure is right for you. From what I have heard, that reaction is pretty rare, but it's good to be aware of potential complications. I mentioned iron infusions so that people will know it's an option. Ideally, your doctor should tell you what all your options are, but some doctors don't. You have to ask them yourself.
I have chronic fatigue but it’s due to RLS and OSA. However, I too have found Iron and B12 helpful ! B12 is also helpful if you’re on anti RLS drugs. It seems to “restore” my nerves !
I been extreme fatigued for years. Drs. Just prescribe me antidepressant and say depression can do that. The last dr. Got me blood work and came back defitiance in b12 and iron. So far got only one b12 injection and slow release iron pill. Im hoping this is my answer cause i never had one day of energy in years. So far onky one injection and 2 weeks of iron pills. Im still super tired so far. Hoping that will change soon. I get a b12 injection evrry week the first month and then once a month from there.
Oh, I forgot to mention, "Spoonie" is just a colloquial term for anyone who has a chronic illness. It's based on a blog written by Christine Miserandino and it's a way to explain limitations of chronic illness using spoons as units of energy. Google search "but you don't look sick" to read more :)
Great summary! Thanks!!
