- Finally, the time has come to fulfill about a billion requests from last year - that's a lie. But some of you wanted me to model a rifle, so now I'm doing that in episode 56 of the 10 Minute Modeling Challenge.
In the bonus material, I export the object as an FBX file and import it into Unity 2020. I modified an existing project to use the Unity Animation Rigging package to hold and aim the weapon.

If you want to use the palette style UV coloring method, I go through that in both of the above linked videos.
Additional info:
I've been modeling in Blender since about 2015 but more recently in the past couple of years. I've been making games and assets in Unity since 2011 and I'm currently working on a multiplayer RTS game that I'll be happy to announce later this year.
I use a Canon Lumix GH5 camera to record my videos with the Olympus 17mm F1.2 lens as well as the Laowa F2.0 7.5mm compact dreamer lens. Sometimes I also use a GoPro Hero 8, a Insta360 One X and a Sony rx100 mark vii. For audio I use a Rode NTG shotgun microphone connected to a RME Fireface UFX II sound card.

Well, coming from someone self-taught and someone who has learned off videos I can say your videos are extremely helpful as tutorials for the intermediate to advanced people. Like me for instance, I know majority of the hotkeys etc, so when you do stuff I know exactly what you did. For me they show me other artists workflow and help me ether improve or not. Like the simple thing of usnig a palette for low poly modelling is something i picked up from you. Something that tremendously improved my workflow. thanks for all the videos you do and thanks for the help with certain things!
Okay I know it may be annoying to always say the 'e to extrude' stuff but that genuinely really helps me learn how to work smarter and faster.
So excited for this. I really need help on make guns in blender.
Low-poly particles for a challenge maybe?

I'd like some tips modeling those :D
Why would you need to model them? Take a cube, make it change color and size, add some rotation and thats all.
@@markedforstrike Well it's not about "modeling" them I guess. More about the whole process.
Either way, not all of us are Blender Pros y'know. It's nice to watch someone experienced do it with tips and tricks.

I watch ur videos in double speed, it's from my highschool days (2016-2017) I had a lot of anxiety so I watched all my favorite youtubers in 2x to save time. the habit kinda stuck...kinda hope u see this, comment if you do, It'll make my day

I really like the format of this video, your pacing is good and instruction is informative. I have had to slow down other tutorials before because I'm not the fastest typist and because I'm still learning. some of the terminology used by the presenter is alien and I have to research it to carry on.

I can't for the life of me figure out how you inset the scope like that.. I just get a regular kind of inset with it seperated like two instead of one hole. I have boundary checked.. anyone?

Reminds me of a Quake railgun... which is odd, cause none of the Quake railguns look like that.
it looks like it shoots LIKE a railgun I think. hitscan, single shot. Maybe even a sustained beam :D like the pulse rifle / link gun from ut

Technically you could say this fires without a trigger because spacegun, but forgetting to add a trigger almost makes you lose the one challenge you said you couldn't fail hahahaha.

Hey, this is probably a very dumb question, but how do I put the colors directly on the model while building it as your doing here? Great vid tho, hope you can answer my q, cheers!
Forgot to make an actual trigger. You just made a spot where the trigger should be. The tactical grip usually goes in front of the trigger.

what is your matcap??
In Unity3D if you don't want the material that comes with fbx then make sure to select that model and disable the material import for that model. Otherwise unity will keep on creating materials for your model and won't remove them.

Can you please release the "forward" part ? It's always good to see live errors and thinking process, cuz likely, even with the perfect tutorial, as a noob, i'll do mistake, and maybe you'll tell me what i did wrong in the forwarded part :)

Dude I'm waiting for your unity tutorials for so long but every time you came up with blender..
I've been following along with jimmy vegas' videos if youd like to check them out. He goes through all the basics of unity, explains intermediate/advanced concepts pretty thoroughly, has free assets so you wont be left in the dark, plus he has multiple series about making different types of games start to finish. (Not that imphenzia isn't awesome too, I just tend learn more modeling/rigging/animation stuff from him personally)

Just finding this channel, a couple of questions.. is there a plugin he is using for Blender to give it that nice ambient occlusion effect while in 3d mode in Blender? And is there a plugin used for the color pallete to quickly assign texture colores that easy??
He has a video about this effect and palette setup, this is not a plugin.

If you go to the first videos on this series he goes into his setup for the materials so you can get the materials to look exactly like his.
