Your cooling fans are too small. Mishimoto "Raceline" fans. 2 if them move 3600 cfm (cubic feet per minute) I upgraded from those slim fans and solved my overheating problem. I live in Florida and drive hard with ac on. You can feel the suction from the fans a foot in front of the grilles.

The LS is a better engine anyway. Lighter and more reliable if naturally aspirated. Can make away more power also. Remember, the original engine for this car is not a Mezger, it's not a Turbo or GT car.
im 100% into it, ive wanted and RWB and ill get one evenutally! Which makes me INSAINLY happy to see it daily driven! my LSx powered 944 is probably the closest thing to a RWB 911 LSx i could have at this time and I LOVE EVERY SECOND!
fun note LSx engines do not have an issue with oiling, not one problem at all. ITS HAS to do with the geomatry of the oil pan for 911 swaps and the way the car moves and leans makes the oil go the opposite of what anything "conventional" would use. so an accusump stops the oil starvation because of "unable oil pan design" and sadly packaging. because in the 944 we hold more G's than a 911 and hotter lap times with a standard sump engines, corvettes too and sadly it really boils down to pan design and baffling which the 911 conversion pans jsut simply have not.

I love Porsches all around. They have amazing engineering and their flat engines are perfectly balanced with a super low center of gravity, but the size and performance-per-dollar makes wayyyyy too much sense with the LS. 911 LS swapped Porsches give the working class man hope!
PERFECT combination! The weight difference between the porsche engine and the LS is after swap is negligable. The build cost for Porsche horsepower is ASTRONOMICAL! LS power is CHEAP. and reliability is awesome.

Yes! There have definitely been a few before. Rutledge Wood's RWB as well comes to mind. I remember Will telling me he had many conversations with Angie during the build process whenever problems with the LS install would come up.
I think every single 996 tiptronic base 911 should be used as a hot rod platform for LS based V8s / GM V8s . I drove a base 996 911 auto when they were new and it was the most dissapointing car I ever drove . So underpowered feeling and boring . But they are still 911s with some potential . The 996 TURBO was awesome . Yes , it had the cheap feeling ugly interior that lost its way but at the time it was a monster street car for turn key usable acceleration with the level of traction. Considering how hated the base 996 is and the headlights treated like some kind of birth defect that somehow destroys its look for the classic shape and how awfully underpowered they were and the tiptronic Making it feel like a 6 cyl camary when accelerating . The whole throw out bearing thing and general cost of fixing cars that suck and the ability to fit a more classic front clip with round headlights instead of the fried eggs that people are so disgusted by which Is the tiniest of problems with them as cars but unloved they seem the perfect platform to hack up and be re purposed and given some dignity by giving them some performance with a great V8 .

@staLkerhu they commented on it understeering and being totally planted at the rear. This would imply extra or excess weight at the rear, the original would keep you on your toes in said driving conditions, being fun , exciting and a true drivers car.
The engine itself is probably similar in weight, if not a little lighter than the original. But of course the wheels and additional body work don't help the cause
RWB is a little too far for me but that car looks amazing. It's also small like my 74 Celica which is cool. Could have easily got into this instead if I had a slightly different path in life.

At the end of the day it's *your* car and there's no reason to appease to anyone else who prefers just another 911 with less power and significantly less grip. It has nothing to do with ego and everything to do with personal passion. And I can tell you that this car gets me *far* more intrigued than another stock 911, especially as there was no skimping out on the build. If it were just another stock classic 911 being driven around, I probably wouldn't have clicked on the video. Seen it many, many times before. And that's coming from a fan of 911's.

Not very impressive to me. I love 911s. I'd rather use a 5.2L Voodoo engine. High reving engine with a power band similar to a racing 911. Flat-plane crankshaft sound! Like a Porsche engine with 2 more cylinders and cheaper horsepower.

Air cooled engines require rebuilds at some number of miles. Not very practical.

Ls doesn’t have “oiling issues” unless you front sump them, in this case it’s because of the engine orientation
