Hey, I am glad to see this on TH-cam. What a great job on your LS Swap. I am Clemon Prevost, a.k.a. Toy-Jet. I was the first to do the LS/911 conversion process in late1999 when I was told it couldn’t be done. I was the first in the world to Swap an LS in a Porsche 911 and 914. I am so glad to see that this conversion is being done and is still going strong. I am still having fun with my 1980, 1000 plus hp Targa. We both can thank a gentleman by the name of Rod Simpson who is a Californian who did the first V8 swap into a Porsche 911 back in 1968 Keep up the good work!!
I love the Porsche 911 V8 conversion and have followed them from the early years of them being done…Did you come up with a super strong axle and what about the transmission,,what’s being used..I’m in Canada and we don’t see the conversions here that i know of…I might be interested in purchasing a 911 already done,,let me know if anyone is interested in selling…Thanks.!
Holy crow, I have never seen a master welder like this. That welding helmet alone is like two months salaries, what an artist Josh is. And he enjoys it as I can see. That build is just wicked.
This is one of the best builds I've seen!! The guy doing the fabrication really knows what he's doing! The horsepower numbers were impressive!! Graat video!!
-Fun, new and interesting camera angles, 3 photos, 3 different scenes being seen of what is happening in one place. I have never seen that before.. and just the sounds of the shop things being hooked up pulled, and banged on,etc; no additional music to hold our attention-great. -BIG ASS tires on the back of this P-car. -Side rear mount inter-coolers, so beautiful and so functional =jewels. -I so love how exacting Josh is and to see his work being done right before OUR eyes is wonderful. -I like at 4:00 on the video Josh has a plug in one pipe close to his arm to stop the heat from toasting his arm. -One bad thing...no goggle. All of this very finely cut metal "dust" could get in his eyes and then he rubs his eyes and that is like sanding your eyes with 400 grit sand paper. I am not a big safety guy, but on obvious dangers for my eyes or my richard/balls I am safety FIRST. - Did everyone see the expando nematic pipe spreader. Wow. I got my moneys worth already and we are only in 7 minutes in. -Josh kind of looks and moves like Ringo Star (The Beatles for all you young ones out there). -Yes more. - I never watch anything Corvette on this chanel; just not interested. -I love Porsches but I am not a purest. Slice and dice the body all you want. Rennch videos has a Subaru flat 6 engine in an older Porsche body, so what. Would I ever want to put a Vet engine in a Porsche I might own. Too late in my life to care. -Love how you keep your Chanel getting better. Al this is the first time I have see the brother working the whole show. Good speaker and engaging. I normally do not endorse any LS swapped 911’s, but I must admit your build is pretty sick. It looks like lots of fun! Well done! 👏🏻 Greetings from West Chester,PA
If I brought in a 2002 911 what would it ballpark to build a similar setup? Labor, LS donor with a top-end refresh, leakdown and even pressured cylinders, whatever fuel delivery upgrades, and that awesome fab work on the plumbing - what are we in the ballpark of to do that?
Hi, full disclosure. I just ran into this video project with the recommended you tube suggestions. I enjoyed the whole video. You guys did a good job. It was a good production and I like the personalities. It's amazing what you can do these days. I am an old retired mechanic, it's great to see creative craftsmen and artists and thinkers and inventors create new ideas and you did it very cleanly and professionally and you weren't overly cocky about it. That was the best part. I subscribed
this is actually a dope build … i’m a huge porsche fan boy but i also love corvettes . So this is the best or both worlds. Can’t wait for it to be completely dialed
Beautiful in every way, love it. Numbers for sure, weight of car before and after, weight distribution, change %. Costs yes, that's paramount, side by side comparison with Lee's car will be very interesting. Put up a Part III video notice don't want to miss it! I love making my own exhaust systems, that guy is a pro for sure.
Great job! 👍 I got a L92 getting built to swap in my 996 this winter I initially planned to turbocharge it but i decided for my first porsche LS swap i would go N/A .. a lot simpler .. a lot less complication as you guys demonstrated Defenitly will build a turbo one at one point Nice work guys .. fantastic build ... I love your shop
Scrap Life Garage you earned my subscription with the handle and the v8 Porsche, I used to do stuff like this back in the 70's-2010 and also built from scrap many times.
I'm not usually any fan of contaminating a 911 with a USA made V8 engine but in this case the planning and execution is so clean and professional and the results so impressive, I'll give this one a big thumbs up. I'd expect similar results if Porsche's engineers decided to do the same thing.
Go with G force gears! I just had rpm transmissions build my tr6060. I went level 7 and added the faceplated G force gears. It will hold anything you throw at it.
We've ( my son and I ) have a built K24 swapped 91 MR2 that I'd love to run against that thing around the track. It's already one of the fastest cars I've ever been in and we haven't even turboed it yet. That Porsche is wicked btw!✌
I live in Australia and i wish we had guys with as much talent as he has, instead you get things fabricated abd have to go back 8 times till it is done right! Your the man !!!!
Wow, what a factory type installation. Very impressed. Why not a DCT transmission or are they fragile also with all the torque. With DCT no worries missed shifts. Plus maximum acceleration with computer shifting vs human.
Gday fellas, I freakin love this!!!!! A twin turbo V8 in a Porsche. BEST TH-cam vid I’ve seen in years, bar none!!!! I’ve got to get me one!!!! Cheers 👍👍👍🍻🍻🍻
When it comes to heat & cooling ,figuring out a way of adding extra (plate size/Porsche surge fans) cooling fans ,pretty much 'everywhere' to have the heat either pushed or extracted...(on demand with well placed heat/temp sensors & gages)..i met Chip Foose once with other people carefully listening to him talking about swaps & builds ,and one thing that stuck with me when he said..'guys ,no matter what kind of build or swap you're fabricating ,the true success to any reliable engine set-up is HEAT CONTROL no matter what..so you must go over the top when it comes to controlling ,water/oil/ engine & exhaust heat in that bay..!!
I had a guy put on a very nice set of custom headers on my 75 Nova. Then my starter went bad, so I went to replace it. He also welded the collectors to the 3-inch pipes. Needless to say...he was lying on the ground in my driveway with a saws all.
It's a Dynojet and STD, so compared to a 650 hp 992 Turbo S, it's about 930 hp to the crank. and 790 to the wheels. Not bad. The clutch will be fine. It's rated for 700 lb.ft using SAE and a load based dyno. If you measure by that, you're making about 650 lb.ft, not 754 lb.ft.
Great video , but, there's no follow up video and you didn't talk about the bottom end of the LS motor and I'm not sure why a twin turbsky as opposed to a supercharged LS. There was a comment about not enough clearance for the supercharger but I'm not seeing that.
Love the Porsche I love the silver one swap more than I love the purple one do comparisons do-it-all beautiful build.. do the price reveal this has been an awesome one to watch I love Porsche.....
Today awe inspiring! This was like watching the Mona Lisa being created! Totally amazing! I can build an incredible amount of power building an engine, but I don't have anything on you Josh when it comes to welding and fabrication! My hat goes off to you! GOD bless you! You are an amazing artist! WOW!
That guy is an artist with the pipes 👍🏻
Yus
Thanks!
He is……
artist with any fabrication..... top notch!

@@jahse7814 The only way a Porsche can sound good is with a Chevrolet motor!
im a porsche purist , my next 997 is getting an LS3 swap once IMS fail. THIS IS THE WAY, IVE SEEN THE LIGHT.

why he just made it better and reliable
That's a relief - what ever would they do without your approval?
Amazing! That's how every Porsche should come out of the factory, with a v8 high horsepower reliable low maintenance engine
Don’t know what Josh is getting paid for this fab work but from the looks of it it’s worth it.
Josh knows his SH%T!!! 👍✌️
NOT ENOUGH, jk

Initially I thought nooooo sacrilege but what an awesome job. Absolutely mental. 100% sick 👍🏻
This video is freaking epic! Love everything about this build!

Soooooo badass, can't wait to see it once it's finally dialed to make passes.
I love the crackling exhaust note!

The coolest part of driving a Porsche is the distinctive sound. From the docile, almost funny hoover sound, to the wild flat-6 roar. Why change this ?

Best turbo sound ever 😅 best clip sound ever 😊 have fun!
