I made these today for my daughter. She said that they are better than the store bought ones, and now I have no excuse for saying we don’t have any. Thanks so much for sharing your wonderful recipes with us.
Thanks for this recipe. I'm confident that your recipe is far better tasting than the store bought. I'm looking forward to trying these for myself. Take care ✌🏾
Ms. Suga so amazed how easy you make things seem, but as you mentioned after many attempts lol 😆....Will try myself & see, thank you! Your hair looks good coming down the side like that & as always love the flowers ....keep up the awesome work that you do. I appreciate You Ms. Suga! Bravo 🌟
To make your own cake flour put 2 tablespoons corn starch or arrow root in measuring cup then measure APF on top of that found this at "the kitchn" . I wonder if we grind the APF in a nutra bullet scence cake flour is a finer grind than APF I made these and everyone says there way better than store bought.😊
Hey I just wanted to let you know I tested out this recipe. My first batch of cookies were a lil over baked and crisper than the store ones. The second batch I made I under baked and when cooled they were soft and sweet from the frosting. Definitely a great recipe and very close to the same sugar cookies in the store but way cheaper and way more in quantity. Whether a lil over baked or soft the flavor is spot on and delicious! I give this recipe a 10/10.
Never had them, you never have steered me the wrong way, even with the potato chips in the chocolate chip cookies!! The salty chips made the cookies so bomb!! Very addictive.
I used just the 1 egg and rolled it into balls, refrigerated them while my oven was finished preheating, they came out Great, I don't like frosting so I dipped half of every ball into sprinkles and pressed them with the flat part of my measuring cup, Delicious, I did take out 1/2 a cup of butter and added 1/2 a cup of sourcream, because I didn't want to use all my butter, Thanks for the Recipe :)
Unfortunately whole wheat is a more coarse and heavy flour than even all purpose flour (which I also don’t recommend because it’s heavier than the cake flour I do like to use here). While you could swap a bit in, I think it would really affect the texture and take away from the light cakey texture that makes these so much like their store bought counterparts. However, if you aren’t worried about that or going for that authentic taste and texture, you could probably get away with strategically swapping a bit!
The cookie itself is absolutely perfect. I over whipped my frosting, but the flavor is delicious. Only thing I’d change is that sprinkles are required, not optional. 😂
It helps emulate the taste and texture of the frosting on the store bought cookies! I talk about it in more detail (and how you can leave it out) on my blog post 💜
Unfortunately in this recipe it does make a pretty significant difference in the final texture. You can substitute it and I talk a bit more about this in detail on the post on my blog, but cake flour is really best here.
For authentic taste and texture I recommend cake flour. All purpose flour, when substituted correctly, “works” but it doesn’t have the same lightness to the texture as the store bought cookies.
This one does use baking powder. For best results, I don't recommend changes to the recipe. They actually use a lot of extra artificial ingredients in the creation of their cookie so this is a just a remake of theirs, not the exact recipe. :)
I never use unsalted butter. Would using salted butter, and omitting the extra salt, cause the cookies to spread, instead of rise? Will it change the texture of the cookie from soft to crisp? These are my son’s, (and now my grandson’s), absolute favorite store-deli bought cookies! They are just getting waaay too expensive!!!!
I actually have an article on using salted or unsalted butter. It doesn't change how cookies rise or the texture; it's more about controlling the flavor. Here's the article if you are interested. :) sugarspunrun.com/salted-or-unsalted-butter-substitutions/

I'm so glad you enjoyed them! :)
Your videos never fail to make my day or make me hungry. Love it!
I use a yard stick cut in half and roll out the cookie dough between the two pieces to get perfect, even 1/4 inch thickness.
Nice!
Thank you so much for your time ❤ I really like your recipes. You make things so easy . And I love your personality Mary Christmas.

Allo ! Love your channel ❤ , i am about to do those cookies for easter . Question can i freeze them ?
I hope you love them! You should have no issues freezing these. :)
Love these! Thanks for your hard work testing this recipe! I can’t wait to try 💕
Hope you enjoy!
Wondering if rolling into log and cutting from log would be easier for me ( since i dont have counter space)
It may be possible to do but you’d probably have to chill it a good bit longer. I personally haven’t tried it.
I have made many of your recipes, you are my go to teacher
I love hearing that 🥰 Thank you!

Can I add whole wheat flour? I like to make my cookies more healthy... And thx for sharing 💚 my colleague 🥰

@@SugarSpunRun thank for full answer🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
These were so yummy me and my family ate them all in one day
So beautiful!!! Love the colour pink 😙
Makes them so bright and fun! I wanted to do blue but my sister insisted on pink, I think she was right 😂
you never miss!
These look amazing! Definitely going to make! Thanks for the recipe🙃
Hope you enjoy them!
Do I have to use cake flour? What happens if I use AP flour instead?
Cake flour provides the best flavor and texture, so that's my recommendation 😊
Wow th thumb nail is so delicious thanks for sharing 👍 😋
Enjoy! 😊
Hi Sam! Great recipe! Do you think they could be cut into hearts for valentines day?
I'm not sure they would hold their shape perfectly. :(
Hi@@SugarSpunRun ! I tried making them heart shaped and they kept their shape pretty well! A little harder to frost but pretty good!👍 Thank you!
I really love the chocolate cookies of this brand. Do you have a recipe for the chocolate ones?
I do not at the moment. Is the cookie chocolate, the frosting, or both?
@@SugarSpunRun the cookies are chocolate and the frosting is what ever holiday it is. I’ve seen them for Valentine’s, Halloween and Christmas
I have never seen a Chocolate Lofthouse cookie in stores. Various bakers have come up with recipes to make at home
The cookie itself is absolutely perfect. I over whipped my frosting, but the flavor is delicious. Only thing I’d change is that sprinkles are required, not optional. 😂
🤣 I'm glad you enjoyed them! :)
My favorite cookie. Thank you for sharing!
💞👼🏻💐
I hope you love them!
Thank you for this recipe and delicious cookies😍😋
Enjoy 😀
these cookies really do go *Insaneo Style*
My favorite store bought cookies!
The best!
Can I put your sugar cookie icing on these cookies?
Sure thing! :)
0:47 i thought for sure this was foreshadowing a mixer breakdown...
Lofthouse cookies may be my favorite cookies.
You’ll love these then!!
They look amazing. I had to pause and rewind, I was like... did she just say cakeflour?🤨lol I must try this recipe now
Haha yes! It’s one of the key secret ingredients here! 💜
Could you tell me how far in adance these can be made?
I would say 3-4 days. :)
These look amazing & might have to try these but can i ask what the karo syrup does our add to the frosting? Thanks!
It helps emulate the taste and texture of the frosting on the store bought cookies! I talk about it in more detail (and how you can leave it out) on my blog post 💜
Can’t wait to try these cookies. Do you have to use cake and pastry flour?
I do really recommend it for the most true-to-the-original texture. I tried with all purpose and it just wasn’t as authentic.
Is all purpose flour a good substitute for the cake flour or will it cause a big difference
So good Sam as always thank you stay bless nd fml
I’ve been told that the lofthouse cookies do use baking powder and baking soda. Does this change anything from the current recipe.
This one does use baking powder. For best results, I don't recommend changes to the recipe. They actually use a lot of extra artificial ingredients in the creation of their cookie so this is a just a remake of theirs, not the exact recipe. :)
Biscoff cupcake please
Love you 😘😘😘🤗🤗🤗🤗

Is it okay if you don’t have cornstarch cause I don’t have any 😭
The cornstarch helps with the softness of the cookies, but if you don't have any on hand you can just use flour instead. :)
Could I Skip Chilling my dough..? I'm Just Lazy.
Definitely not the best idea. Your cookies will probably end up really spreading in the oven
@@SugarSpunRun Alright, thanks for letting me know!
I laugh every time when the standmixer sad song plays 😀
I cry. 😭😭😭😉

Not down with sprinkles because they're so artificial in every single way, and they cheapen stuff....but the cookies and icing look real nice...
You can always make your own! I hope to record a video of how I do soon!
I don't have cake flour or corn syrup in my country💔💔💔💔💔
Try this recipe instead: sugarspunrun.com/soft-frosted-sugar-cookies/ 🥰
Those Lofthouse cookies are so tasteless.
Let me know what you think of these in comparison! ☺️
