I actually tried this recipe and they turned out good. They had a similar taste and texture but I think there was a little bit too much salt. I’d rate it a 9.5/10
These cookies are very soft and tender, so they are not good for rolling out and cutting into shapes. When scooped as shown in the video, they have a mounded shape instead of being flat, so probably not a good choice for decorating with royal icing.
Yogurt typically works well as a substitute for sour cream. I haven't tested it with this recipe specifically, but I think a thick/Greek style yogurt will work here. If you try it, I'd love to know how it goes.
Cake flour is a lower protein flour that makes cakes and cookies especially soft and tender. If you live in the US, Swans Down and Softasilk are two common brands of cake flour. You could also use plain all purpose flour in place of the cake flour. The texture will be a bit different but the cookies will still be delicious!
I just found your channel and now I'm going back through your videos and binge watching. I love the quiet, calm vibe so much.
Wow ! These cookies are so beautiful! ❤
The cookies look amazing 🤩
What a treat to watch!! :D

Thanks for the feedback!
Oh this was so relaxing.. 😍 I love how they turned out. Gonna try this recipe asap! 🥰✨🦋
Im a bit late but would i just double the measurements of ingredients to make 24 cookies?
Yes, double all the ingredients. This recipe scales very easily for multiple batches.
@@BakewithEllethanks!
Can you use regular flour and baking soda if you don’t have cake flower? 😭
You can replace the 1 ¼ cup (160 g) cake flour with 1 cup + 2 tablespoons (135 g) all purpose flour and 2 tablespoons (16 g) cornstarch.
Pretty 🥰
Does the butter need to be unsalted or does salted work too?
Salted butter in fine in both the cookie and the frosting.
@@BakewithElle thanks!
Am i able to use this recipe for the royal icing cookies to decoratate??

What is cake flour? Is it normal flour?
