Beautiful. I want to make this. I love seeing these companion videos to articles I read on Serious Eats a while back. I've never had a Lofthouse cookie but since I like my cookies and brownies less dense I'm eager to make this. After marveling that cake could be baked like cookies I just spent ten minutes thinking about using other, less solid cake batters for this recipe, like the mixer-free Devil's Food cake, but I'm thinking it's a terrible idea and I'll end up with a super-thin sheet cake or cake pancakes. Probably need the mixer for this one, since it's a dense batter that turns into not-dense cake. I do love yellow cake. Thanks, SE & Stella. These videos are great and they make the recipes less intimidating by showing the whole process. It makes cooking the recipes look easy, fun, and attractive. Perfect.

First batch we got 33 and the other day we made 39, we don't have a fancy scoop so using a piping bag 😁 thank you for this!! 💕

My swim team used to have those before every meet. We called them chemical cookies.
