Alright, here we go with some good ol' APC. This has to be one of my favourite APC songs, the perfect song to release on my birthday morning :) Tabs are in the description and an isolated guitar version of the cover can be found on Patreon. You can also vote on the next cover on Patreon, TOOL week coming up :)
Well done. Personal meanings aside, this is one of APC's classics and very dense with harmony. It's impressive to be able to pick out all the individual lines. I particularly like the - what sounds like - four part vocal harmony in the last section, and how it's the only song to reference 'a perfect circle' - who knows which came first!? Either way, a beautiful tune well played. Happy birthday from the UK.....
Amazing cover as always. I learn almost everything I know from your tabs and covers, so I was a bit disappointed that I had to learn Judith from someone else. All of that is to say, I'd love to see more APC from you if you ever decided to, your tabs and playing are the best I've found. You and Cameron Winters are the reason I can play any guitar at all! Thanks for uploading and helping people with *accurate* tabs, hope to see you come back to it!!
Thank you very much! This is my favourtie song, always wanted to learn how to play. The live version of this song is even better, the solo kills me everytime
I wish you a really happy birthday! I am pleasantly suprised with apc. I absolutely love this band but have never heard this song before :/ I think it would be cool to hear The Package its one of my favs.
Thank you so much! To be frank, I didn't listen to Mer De Noms for a very long time. But suddenly it clicked, especially with songs like Judith, Orestes and The Hollow. I'm still not getting warm with second half of the album, but it's amazing nonetheless. Thirteen Step will forever be one of my favourite records :)
@@MaxNiessl I absolutely agree. Most stuff i know and love is from 13th step and its one of my fav albums of all time. The rest apc albums i think need way more of my attention so i can get my opinion on them. The song that grew on me a lot recently is blue. Amazing song.
Love this one..On the spot as always!! Been trying to emulate the tone on my Helix, but since I'm a noob I cannot get the same tone when using the chorus/flanger combos (specially in the second half of the song)...Guess I'll be doing a lot of tweeking on my tone now (and skip the part where I actually get good playing the song!)
I never realized this song had two guitar sections, and now I realize that this song is a duet. Two things forming a collective whole, almost like... A Perfect Union of Contrary Things
Hi Max from Australia, loving your videos . Would you be able to do another tab of this song from the Stone and Echos live concert from red rocks ? Billy extends the solo part for a couple of minutes with some really nice playing which you might enjoy working out if you don’t it already. Thanks
hi sir, very nice cover and tabs format you got there, I took the tabs you posted on your site for this song and it sound a lot better than the free tabs on UG. Ive been trying to do parts of this song for days now, especially the one from 2m26 to 2m52 (in your video) and I cant get the tone I want. I got a line6 floor pod multi effect pedal and I tried only using the flange/chorus option but it didnt turned out really good. I recently tried adding a little reverb and it sound a little better, but I feel like im far from getting the right sound. any idea what amplificator setting I should use? for now I put the ''bright'' option to like 1 out of 10, almost no reverb, 3/4 middle and treble and low bass. I didnt put any distortion (and my amp isnt the best for that, got an old yamaha fifty210 , good for reverb, but not so much for distortion) I really have no idea what to do next or if im going in the right direction, any advice would be super appreciated
Hey man, sorry to be “that guy” but for the main riff, Billy frets the F# string on the 7th and 8th fret during those two chords. Check out the MTV pro-vid for that, they have a great close up of him playing it.
@@moviescolin Will definitely do that from time to time. I've just inspected live footage where he doesn't play it with the bass notes (at least I think). Should have known that there is MTV footage :D
A Perfect Circle was never an alternative METAL band, so no. Eat the Elephant is a great album and a natural progression for their sound. The criticism comes usually from people who never "understood" A Perfect Circle's music.
@@Kornholic Yep, I agree! It's a phenomenal record, especially on Maynard's vocals. I miss Billy's vocals a bit on there, though, and it doesn't come close to Thirteenth Step for me. Still a great album :)

Couldn't agree more. One of the best APC songs, live especially. Happy birthday mate! Keep these wicked vids coming ;)

My favorite song. And Happy birthday.
Happy Birthday dude
Thank you so much for what you do .. guitar covers with Tab bad ass :)
A Perfect Cover
Haha thank you, bud! :)
I think that this and "3 Libras" are the best songs on this record.... But this is the absolute best song on the whole album. Great job man
Thank you, dude! :)
And Brena 👌😍
Sleeping Beauty is great as well, I’m also like Thomas
Judith too
I used to play this when I was 15, 33 now and I can finally play it CORRECTLY thanks to you! Happy Birthday and keep 'em coming!
Thank you! That's awesome :)
So many beautiful harmonies
Would love to see some more APC. Gravity is one of my faves, but any of their stuff would be awesome to see tabbed and covered.
One of the best APC songs hands down. Great job! You have a great taste in music.
Thank you! I agree :)

Thank you so much, man! The last part of this song is so powerful. Kinda makes me cry and feel numb. Amazing piece :)
The song came first that's how they came up with it,
My favorite song of all time. I've never heard it like this before. Truly amazing work.

@@triggerhappy77707 That’s so nice to hear! I will be back at some point in the future :)
Phenomenal Lesson. Your format including the guitar tab is the best out there. Keep up the good work!
Thank you, John! I appreciate it 🤘🏼
Happy birthday Max, and as always, AMAZING cover, keep it up!!
Thank you so much! :)
Thank you very much! This is my favourtie song, always wanted to learn how to play. The live version of this song is even better, the solo kills me everytime
My all.time.favorite APC song! So.happy right now
One of my absolute favourites as well! So powerful! Glad to see you happy :)
I’m in awe of your stuff man. Masterful playing. Thanks for all you do.
Thank you so much! Glad you dig it :)
oh man ive been wanting to learn this song forever. thanks man great job
Max, it would be interesting to see your cover for their song "Package"
I swear, APCs bass sounds so damn beautiful.
Happy birthday dude! Great job as always. Waiting for 3 Libras cover..

Thank you :)
Beautiful cover
Awesome job !!!
Awesome cover! Saludos desde México.
stunning....
Thank you :)
nice cover dude, Next one Magdalena
Thank you 🙌❤️
Amazing flow Max. I don't have a loop pedal so some parts can't be played alone. Nevermind, it's a very good song and i'm gonna learn it.
Man, Always wanted a coherent cover of this song because of how faint the studio guitar tracks sound.
Man, me too! Glad I finally learned this. And thank you :)

Excellent, great job 😉, "passive" of APC please? 🙏😁
Thank you! Passive is an amazing song as well :)
dude, really awesome do more of mer de noms please!
Thank you! :)
Good cover 🤘🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Thank you! I'm sorry, but I don't think this will happen :(
Any chance we can get some of the longer Iron Maiden epics? Would LOVE to see "For the Greater Good of God". Was killer live on their last tour.
Not _that_ much of Maiden fan, so I don't think so. Sorry :(
Man, I got the tab book back in 2002 or something and it looks like it was way over complicated than this... lol. Gave 16 year old me a workout!

Can you please do "By and down the river" by APC, no play along tab exists for it on TH-cam yet, only covers!
God
What pedals are u using or software to get these settings etc
NO WAY
Epic shit, bruh.
Please do The Hollow I beg you!!!
hey, how did you accomplish that beautiful sound? In my guitar I can't do it.
The Outsider? Soon? or Rosett Stoned?
Rosetta most likely, yes ;)
What gauge of strings do you use for a c# tuning on a Les Paul scale?
I’m not going higher than .11 string gauges, but if you’re serious about recording it should be .12 gauge I guess :)
Cover requests, Tool wings for marie part 1 and 2, Vicarious and Jambi. A perfect circle Weak and powerless and Mastodon Sleeping giant?
What chorus did you use?
I’m only using the built-in Kemper effects, so it’s no special chorus :)
The hollow next possibly?
Maybe sometime in the future :)
can u cover the outsider by a perfect circle ik u got it
Will definitely do some APC stuff. Planning on doing some drum related stuff by them as well :)
@@MaxNiessl SIIIICK cant wait to here u drum!
Dude max you have 10 soen songs but only one APC? You need to get right with Jesus dog. Please do 3 Libras and The Hollow PRONTO
Fuckin for real dude wtf is wrong with this guy
The noose and Blue

Damn, got that wrong! Will note that in the description, thank you :)
Max Niessl Haha no problem. I only noticed it because it makes the song much harder for me to play. Can’t wait to see what other APC songs you do :)
@@moviescolin Will definitely do that from time to time. I've just inspected live footage where he doesn't play it with the bass notes (at least I think). Should have known that there is MTV footage :D
No está en afinación standar verdad ?
Esta en do sostenido estandar (c#)
String gauge?
Up
I love you
Tuning?
Amazing! But the live version is better to cover
Thank you! The live version is awesome, but I want to provide tabs for the actual song :)
Go cover mastodon
JUDITH
MARIE, UNCONDITIONAL ONE!!!
my respeacts.
Remember when A Perfect Circle was one of the most interesting alt metal bands out there? Wtf happened on that last album?
I agree, enjoyed some songs of the new record as well, though. eMOTIVe was way worse :D
Eat The Elephant is great. Just cause there's no metal doesn't mean it's bad.
A Perfect Circle was never an alternative METAL band, so no. Eat the Elephant is a great album and a natural progression for their sound. The criticism comes usually from people who never "understood" A Perfect Circle's music.
@@Kornholic yeah i mean, they had some metal and hard rock elements for sure, but the last album is pure APC, just with more subdued guitars.
@@Kornholic Yep, I agree! It's a phenomenal record, especially on Maynard's vocals. I miss Billy's vocals a bit on there, though, and it doesn't come close to Thirteenth Step for me. Still a great album :)
