AMS2 already the best SIM, only getting better and better!! Good race!
Tru Marc. Looks like AMS2 is incredibly addictive. Thought I was done with sim racing, but Owen has definitely created a longing to get back into sim racing with all the amazing videos, that's for sure!
Ams2 is a very fun sim, I think it offers the best offline racing, the AI is great fun to race against. I had been driving it exclusively since the 1.5 update, until this week when I hopped back into rF2. That was something of an eye opener! Ams2 is good, possibly the best for visual appeal, and AI racing, but compared to rF2's astounding FFB I think it's slightly lacking. That said if I want to hot lap I'd choose rF2 but without doubt for offline racing Ams2 is excellent. It's a great time to be a sim racers!
Nice! I’ve been having some fantastic races lately offline! Easy to jump in get on track and have a really challenging battle.😊
Love this BMW. Raced it often in PC2 on Oulton Park. I now have it as well in AMS2. Great car in VR.

Ai is getting serious! try the porsche cup cars, monza 100%/high just did 10 laps, every other lap there was a car in the gravel or an bumper bouncing down the straighrt! And it was the Ai hitting the Ai or losing control! Should be an "open lobbyAi" setting LOL
The car's audio sounds different than I remember. Sounds a lot meaner especially in deceleration & down shifts. I don't know if that's accurate but personally I like it😁
ive been sim racin for about 7 yrs mostly on ps4/5 (forgive my pezantness)
but i finally come to pc a few months ago and it took me while to choose the sim on pc and i decided on ams2 a couple of weeks ago and its by far my best racing experience and the ai are the best out there 🤪
Add a VR headset to that rig of yours and you'll be smiling from ear to ear. Or more specifically, like Owen.

@@truckdriverdecremebrulee what is this witch craft! Vr is but a dainty bonnet upon your delicate head, no more than a feather in weight and discomfort! I'll stop that now it will destroy my image as a northener of dulcet tones and questionable IQ LOL If you get a chance try it, easiest way to describe it is you go from looking through a window (your monitor) at the game to being in the game.....Not for everyone but try it if the chance comes up :)

@@truckdriverdecremebrulee Say, isn't that similar to a Track IR? I have one, built one from store bought LEDs years ago to play mostly X-plane flight sim and it also works incredibly good for racing sims as it offers 6 axels of freedom. I'm still to set mine up as I've been really pressed for time.
The beauty of using a TrackIR is that I get to play on my 4 metre wide 1080p projection screen, with an amazing sound system (7 channel surround, pair of 12" subwoofers). And with that you get incredible screen quality, unlike the one the Quest 2 and 3 provides, which isn't superb.
But yeah, the sense of immersion of a true VR headset can't be matched. But it's great to have both systems for a different taste depending on your mood (and if no one is home, as the entire house shakes with that sound system)
An issue with the AI that bugs me is when you are requested to give back a position, it takes ages for the AI to do that even if I slow drastically down and by the time the car behind does overtake, it is usually 2 or 3 more cars that do that together because they would all have been piling up behind.
So... just like in real life. Yes, sounds like a sim that adheres to every aspect of racing, even the annoying ones
Too real, sneaky sods! Adapt and overcome, ie expect them to do that and do your best to stop them.

I've spent a couple of hours pre & post patch watching AI behaviour at SPA on overlapping situations in multiclass races through monitoring. [P1 - GT3 - SCV8]
Pre patch situation has been immersion breaking at times with the P1 getting badly stuck behind blue flagged cars - sometimes for ages. I'd say the success rate for a fluid overtake back then had been around 30%.
So there was a massive advantage for human players in those situations.
Post patches' success rate is above 60% with the non-immediate overtakes resolving within a lot more reasonable amount of time.
If you treat the lapped cars with respect then you are left with only a minor advantage.
What cars are you racing here? I found GTE, GT3, and most formula cars to end up being quite finnicky last i played but this looked much better balanced than what id last experienced.
Havent played since le mans was released from being burnt out tbh, starting to get that itch again though.
Just gt3's mods and standard. Scratch the itch!

Does the physics updates apply to the GT3 mods as well?
yes, mods run on ams2 physics not pc2 physics same with Ai driving them

How you get content manager to work with the beta? CM can never find AMS2beta.
Just tried it, turned beta (pre release candidate) on, launched game, mods all there? try turning beta off, re hit CM apply button, go check mods are there then re seselect beta in steam.
As good as the updates are it really pisses me off when the updates uninstall mods even more so when it wipes clean my championship when using mods. Do you know if there is a way of preventing this from happening? Cheers!
No, it's the price we pay for all the free cars and tracks unfortunatly. At least it's just a "hit apply" buttong fix :)
How do you make the shadows look good in VR?
turn off all those sun ray effects and you'll get a good headroom to simply turn up the shadows :)

Hey I see your mod cars are your only opponents in a multiclass race. You can make it stop doing this by deleting the custom drivers. The game always put custom drivers first before adding drivers from the game itself. That is wy I never install them with exception for F1 cars since multiclass makes no sence with them.

yes 100% and max agression when making vids, I drive a bit slower when talking but don't want to just overtake everyone on the track

No they over take a re overtake constantly throughout the field and have done for a long time?
It really depends on the car and track combo, plus the last time I played the AI had the same issue f1 22 did where they were always op in a straight line.
They're better than they were before, they can actually do basic pit strategies now, but it also seemed super situational to even though overall they were much better at racing each other.
I did a race at hockenheim just after the hi tech's came out, it was great, did another at interlagos, they were pretty bunched up.
There are some other funny issues like AI's with v8 formula cars being as fast if not faster on power tracks, downforce punishing the player etc, when I took a break it was because a rave at Suzuka kinda annoyed me, I was keeping up with the AI in the corners but getting destroyed on the straights, same with brands hatch, amd it didn't seem to matter what cars I raced the AI always seemed less negatively affected by packing on more aero.
TL;DR in general, yes they're usually overtaking each other and the player, however it's also kinda inconsistent in my experience and they dont seem to experience the exact same aero penalties as the player lately.
@@unfortunately_fortunate2000 I setup monza yesterday, ai on 100% max agression, clup porsche race over 10 laps.....Lost about 6 Ai cars to accidents, not with me, with each other! out of the 6, 4 retired thought I was in an open lobby at one point LOL from what I saw of 2 incidents in front of me they would simply follow that close into a bend, lose it on the brakes and tank slap off the course or hit the car in front. There seems to be a randomness about the Ai at times, on the plus side cars with missing rear bumpers or smashed front ends were a lot slower on the straights.
@@hereward1971 funnily enough the track I have always had the most issues with the AI is Spa, they love to create pretty big wrecks going through Les Combes, or crash each other out going into the bus stop.
it seems to me like the "AI mistakes" might be a bit broken after the latest updates, I remember there always being to occasional pile up before but, something about how they now race each other ends up leading to more than spinning out on corner exit/entry, resulting in these huge crashes.
I remember when they announced that the AI will now make mistakes, I wonder if that has been turned up in recent patches or, if there is something else making them a bit crash-happy.

@@hereward1971 Actually the race was impressive with the other AI once it got started. So tell me does it matter that the AI are modded cars from PC2? This video as almost convinced me to install CM for AMS2.
@@robertyates6913 Ai and physics are AMS2, You can't tell the diference graphicly either. The funny thing is you'll see the Ai do the 1st corner trick too! no honour between Ai either it seems.
Im sorry but this is totaly unrealistic. You can cut 10s of any opponent in 3 turns. And draft, wtf is that? You gain like 100hp in any little longer straight. It took you 7 mins to overtake the entire field of cars. In reality you should be able to gain a few spots, if that.
101hp and it was 11 seconds in turn 3, actualy took 6 minuets to lap everyone........I am a driving God!!!!!!!!!!
And you can still outbrake 10 cars or more at turn 1 in a typical case (and another 5 at turn 2 etc.) as they all line up patiently and don't cover the line. Why can't they fix this? It's the most unrealistic thing about so-called AI racing and I say so-called because sometimes there's nothing even synthetically intelligent about them
