In my opinion, if Reiza now reworks their multi-player, they can enter the pantheon of the sim racing gods. Total respect for how much work they've put in to the sim since its release
What are the stated issues with multiplayer? My friends and I run lobbies all the time and I haven't had a single experience that has turned me off. I know that the overall player base for multiplayer is pretty small/non-existent. Just genuinely curious, I hear this as a consistent criticism of the game but I can't figure out what the fuss is about. Does everything fall off the rails once you start getting up to a full grid of human drivers (netcode, game performance, etc...)?
AMS2 wins us offline singleplayers on its side. And... No matter what famous youtubers or iRacing users try to sell, we are the vast majority of simulator users. The biggest buyer group.
Well I would doubt that. If you look at raw player numbers listed on steam survey and others the online users are still the majority + AMS2 is still not the most played sim out there. Hope that reiza understands how important a good online mode is as they could become a good competitor.
Yep I got the game over the holidays, and I immediately noticed the new content was far superior to the old stuff. But to be fair, it's the same way with AC.
I drove the GTE Vette and it was very fun to drive around Le Mans. The demo is over and you now need to buy the DLC's which there are 2 of them. $9.99 each.
I absolutely love AMS2 Reiza has been doing a phenomenal job. Yes it 100% still has its flaws and issues but it is far and away my favorite single player racing experience
You made the comment about bringing it to console, and I agree. I think that if they included all of the DLC and updates, they could get $40-60 out of it and call it like "Automobilista 2 Gold" or something. But moreover, I think sim racing games going forward should have a bigger focus on console releases, since the new consoles are actually just mini PCs anyway. And for the love of God, take notes from Gran Turismo 7 for UI, player progression, and car collecting. Give players a reason to win races and collect the cars they love. Don't just dump them a bunch on us at one, and then make us buy more with real money. TLDR: I love burritos
Immer wieder eine Freude Michls Review zu sehen. Habe mir AMS2 jetzt im Sale geholt und die neuen DLCs werden definitiv gekauft, zu sehr haben mich die Freeplay Tage angefixt. 🤩
Not being a professional sim driver/racer, I must say I had quite a lot of fun battling against the AI drivers at Le Mans! I set the level to 90 and I liked the way they tried to overtake me anytime they had a chance or defend, without being as reckless as Forza Drivatars 😅
Thats a bit insulting to AMS2s AI to measure it to Forza AI. Its one of the worst in the track racing genre. Stopping on long straights. bunching up nonsensically into every turn 1. Incapable of passing the player car, or most any other car at full racing speed.
AMS might be able to do what AC did. Now with excellent content, graphichs and mods I see no reason why it could not be the one to take over the crown in the future.
I dont have AMS2 yet but have been interested for a while now. The new content is impressive and once my pc arrives I really look forward to getting on AMS2, which will be a nice change from console only games.
AMS2 is great fun, lots of different cars and tracks and the best solo racing against AI. But make sure you try Assetto Corsa with the appropriate mods. Out of all of the sims, AC just feels the most rewarding to drive. Just don't confuse AC with ACC. I don't think ACC feels nice to drive. At least not on my cheap setup.
I have both AC and ACC on disc. Unfortunately, for now, I use AC more because Kunos has not been updating ACC on console, so a lot is being missed. I do enjoy AC as even the first release is indeed realistic and quite challenging! The only thing I don't look forward to with ACC is having to figure out setup and tuning. There is a lot to do, but whenever I get my pc, I will work on figuring it out.
I've driven both, and the difference in physics and handling between AC and ACC is noticeable. ACC, in my opinion, is more difficult, and that's a good thing.
Amazing update. Although I am missing the amount of cars that could fill a track like Le Mans, I think once spread out the 32 amount is too little. I am a nordschleife fan and a race is like a time attack there after some time. I really would love the max amount of cars to be increased. That would make it my favorite singleplayer sim out of all, easily. The driving mechanics went from sort of Project Cars 2 copy-ish to having their own feel. GT3 cars are lively but very stable through corners, exactly how they should be. One of my favorite SP racing sim for sure, I don't know if anyone could improve from iRacing in terms of online racing.
Literally the only thing this game is missing is a great ONLINE RANKING SYSTEM. That's it. It's got everything else. The driving feels great, the VR is impeccable, tons of cars, tons of tracks, it's a good looking game too. Now it's got le mans track... Just missing that multiplayer ranking experience. Racing with the same level players is the thing that would make this game THE best racing simulator. KEEP IT UP REIZA!
AMS 2 just need to copy what rF2 did with multiplayer career mode. Then its an auto homerun! After that nailing the physics. Cause content wise it’salready great.
The game works so well, in VR especially. It's easy to drive and forgiving. I just wish it had a multi-player base. Until then, I'm gonna have to stick with where the people are racing. But maybe they can get something together soon.
Great video Michel & Team. AMS2 is such a great game and I love how the team there are constantly evolving it. It's also great value for money. I need to get this pack and do some races. See y'all on stream soon! :)
What i like about AM2 is they really take their time and deliver meaningfull updates. Graphics and sound out of the box are the best you can get. Car and track collection is really nice. What i'm kind of missing is a mode that excells you as a driver and gives you exercises depending on the errors you make. And a good implementation of a multiplayer. But they better take their time again and provide high quality features than risking their current state with rushing it.
Yes AMS2 is great and I love it single player racing with AI etc..... thou I keep finding myself going back to AC for the extensive range of mods & fictional tracks that are available
I'm guessing the next endurance pack will have the Lambo and Apline LMDhs, the Oreca and possibly Ligier LMP2, Ligier LMP3, Aston GTE, Aston GT3, and Lambo GT3. I think the American Racing Part 4 will contain the Ford GT3, Corvette GT3, and hopefully the Acura GT3, LMDh, and DPi along with Road Atlanta and Sebring.
I just started with AMS2 and have so far only played on Road America (my local home track) with the Porsche 992 GTE. Don't really know what I am doiung yet but it was so much fun. Looking forward to exploring more of this sim.
Did you spot the bad normal map tiling on the M4 Carbon Fiber at nighttime? You can only see it at night because of the way the lights hit it. Needs a fixin.
According the the small patch that just came out this morning, "Fixed lighting on carbon material cars in secondary light sources". Never saw the bug you mentioned, but think that might mean they fixed it?
Wow! And Endurance pack with AI driver swap! 😂😂😂 Make no sence to me, fix the online multiplayer for god sake.. stop the content ore ams2 will be the hotlap simulator for ever!

AMS 2 slowly becoming more menacing to other sim and more fun for us
Ok, but numbers are still far below Disney Speedrun and fraction of Assetto Corsa.
Slowly, but they deserve sooo much more
In my opinion, if Reiza now reworks their multi-player, they can enter the pantheon of the sim racing gods. Total respect for how much work they've put in to the sim since its release
Agreed! I just hope they aren't much limited by the madness engine.

iracings koolaid is expensive and bitter imo
@@pequenobenderoffline is just as important
I highly doubt it's the "vast majority" but okay man...
The super low price during the Winter sale was pretty helpful I would assume.
I would be upset if I paid full price. The game is still very buggy and some classes AI don't even work on any track.
@@truantray The content is indeed mixed in terms of quality. I wish it was more obvious which content was the “best”.

Ich kann es kaum erwarten, AMS2 zu spielen, wenn mein PC ankommt. Das Spiel sieht gut aus.
I hope they add the Peugeot LMDH to the game. That car looks so cool
Love this channel
Ferrari 296 GT3 and Hypercar Ferrari 499P.
Haven't raced on AMS2 since early days. On iracing most days. Might reinstall 😊

Can confirm the new endurance pack dlc is fire.
I think Reiza’s ability to make the game look beautiful and run optimally even in VR is what sets them apart from every other developer.
I can’t wait till they bring more REAL GTE cars both modern and early-mid 2000s

Better than horrible numb understeering acc that's for sure
It just needs a good multiplayer base and community and it can be one of the best on the market
I was hoping to see the complete set so we can have WEC style races; especially that peugeot without the rear wing
Something to note in regards to 16:00, as of today, there are now high-beams, so you can properly flash, though you have to do it manually.
having B-spec AI bob taking over (when tired or in need of a break) on endurance races is great, Like in gran turismo 4

AMS2 appears to one of the only turn key VR experiences on PC.
we need some RX1e Rallycross cars and some cars from AMS1
Because it's the best sim around. As simple as that.
Bro there is no 'best sim around' and you know that. All have pros and cons.
Hahahah, that was a good one.
Need to set assists to authentic in the game settings, lmdh do not have abs or esc
You can see at 3:50 that ABS & Stability Control were off :) -Michel
Just needs some built-in multiplayer leagues
So I wanna drive new lmdh cars should I get this game or wait for yhe lemans game

It's amazing to see small mod creators from the the first rFactor less than a decade ago transform into producing one of the the best sims out there.
The Sauber C9 running against LMP1 cars with the AI turned all the way up is actually a challenge,
Really hope they also bring lmp2 and maybe lmp3 (and please come to consoles)

On a Quest 3 and 4090 it's amazing.
