    I've this headlight, after 2 months low beam LED chip was damaged by overheating. For my luck i was about 30 km from home when came dark night. This ride was crazy a lot. Leds was working, but light beam was awful. I read about this problem from many users. After that my light was replaced by importer. Now i modified IT for adding switch to manually turn on low Beam led ,only standing light works by auto. This helps to save low Beam light for the moment when they will be needed for sure.. The issue is lampf! Info on dashboard- but its better than dont have good lights when you need drive in dark night.

      Mine has a 3 year warranty 😉

      Warranty in China ? I dont know , but i dont have any known people WHO sends back anything back to china and gets warranty feedback. My luck was i bought by guy WHO reselling IT in Poland. First he told me i've damaged voltage regulator in Moto, but i send him video shows test of voltages on my Moto. Then he sends me new light, but old damaged he leave for service parts- dont sends to china.
      There is other new model headlight with active coolling system by fan- but dont looks that cool like this one.

      Hmm The few things I had and broke down was never a real problem, I got my money back. But you have to be patient 😉 Maybe i was lucky 😂

      A switch is a good idea maybe i’ll try that.
      You cane switch the low beam off will standing still. This is done by pressing the right direction indicator light off switch for five seconds and then the right indicator light on switch for five seconds. The low bam will then switch off till you are going to drive.
      So somehow there must be away to switch it of permanently I only don’t know how??

      @@rinusjanssens5523 5 SEC pressing off works until you will start ride.... How you wrote... Only using switch with contactor you can turn it off. We can use many options to dont have lampf error, but it will be more complicated - for ex. Auto turn on with Twilight sensor or similar ideas. I have always wire with connectors to emergency connect contactor socket pins if contactor will have malfunction

    Hi from Texas, Thanks for making this Video. I have been thinking about getting one of these LED Headlights for a while. I’ve never found a Video anywhere showing one working, and the Brightness of it. The Price of the Headlight Assembly on EBay is from $140. To $170. In the U.S. That’s a whole lot less than the OEM Part from BMW. Now that I have finally been able to see it working Thanks to you Old Mechanic, I think I’ll go ahead and pull the Trigger on getting one. 👍👍

    Dear TOM
    LED lighting, in my opinion, is also more beautiful, a Chinese product gives high value for money, BUT if yours original lamp is not broken I would not replace it. (1). All LED bulbs, if they are not super high quality, and therefore super expensive, their lighting will be very weak. (2). The Chinese plastic cover will become yellow and dim within a year. (3). The lifespan of all LED bulbs, even the high quality ones, is dramatically shorter compared to halogen bulbs.
    So if your original headlight is intact, renew it with high-quality halogen bulbs, which are also cheap, and you can enjoy a strong and reliable light beam for a long time. I recommend the Philips +60% series.

      @TheOldMechanic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't say anything about how long these led headlight will last. Ofcourse I keep my original headlight, with my Osram nightbreaker bulbs.
      About the amount of light this new Led headlight produce, I would say, wait until you see the final comparisin between the original and this LED headlight, in the dark. I am sure that you will be amazed..😉

      To make a comparison, you have to turn on both lights at the same time, next to each other. It is possible with the same battery, but it is better that you prepare another good battery(12.7v) for this comparison.
      In any other situation, the camera will twist the results, because it automatically adjusts itself to the lighting, and then even a weak flashlight can appear as if it illuminates well.
      The camera also sees different wavelengths than our eye.
      The vid can't prove much.
      From your experience, tell us what you see, not what the camera sees.
      Regarding the lifespan, this is found in the technical specifications of each bulb, the LED bulbs have about half the lifespan compared to the high-quality halogen bulbs, and the bulb you are used, Osram nightbreaker 200 bulbs, is a very high-quality halogen bulb. There for I predict you are going to be disappointed.

    Will it trip the Cambus? Due to the lower wattage and amps drawn from the system?

    Old Mac, I wish I could put an LED head light on my old Kawasaki motorcycle. I been waiting for a while for someone to make the aftermarket one. So far no. One day Ol Mac. That light will look great on your motorcycle.

    Hi OM,, i’am using this one for all most a year on my 2011 gs and it works flawlessly. I used the original rubbers instead of the ones that came with the headlight. Only thing is that the low beam is always on with the drl. Did not fint a way tho use only the drl at daytime. With high beam everything is on. Maybe there is a way to make different settings with the motoscan app so I’m very curious what you can do with it after installation…

    • @TheOldMechanic
      @TheOldMechanic  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I don't think that there is a way to turn off your low headlight, as that comes on automaticly after you start the engine. And there is no switch to turn that light on or off.

      Now after this time of use you can determine , if IT still have enough light power as at start with new lamp. Maybe you dont run over night.... I dont see any lownbeam issue until must ride by night without supportin LED halogens.

      @@rinusjanssens5523 Hmm yeah I knew that, but I didn't consider that as a good option. Maybe I can dive into that looking at the Motoscan app and see IF in the 'secret' settings there still might be an option to use Rinus 👍
