But so far it looks like a flat front tire and maybe a fuse problem.. They didn't care, and threw it away..Free project 4 me...

    Hey Pat! Loving the series. Just got an mx650 to mod myself. Your videos have helped a lot in determining which direction I want to go. Do you think the lower BMS is because that pack uses LifePO4? I have been eyeing batteries from BTR Power but I have always heard it’s best to get lithium ion as opposed to lifepo4 (which I know is still lithium but seems it’s usually meant for deep storage as opposed to ion for power sports)
    Also if you haven’t ordered a 72v battery yet I have a couple links to suppliers using LG or Samsung Cells and they let you select what BMS Amp you want. I priced out a 72v 40AH with 60A BMS Samsung Cell and it was $850 a 72v 31AH LG with 70A BMS was $700.
    Can’t wait to see more videos ! Your tire video was one of the most helpful for me by far. Subscribed!

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you sir! Regarding LifePO4 vs Lithium, there are a lot of opinions on which is better and why. BTR offers both, but honestly I chose this specific battery simply due to BMS Amp output rating (for the price), which is why I was a bit disappointed. They've been very helpful and refunded me for the battery anyway so really no loss here. Hopefully I have better luck with their 72V battery. Shoot me some links to the battery options anyway since I am building another bike soon and may go that route if I can't fix this battery later on. Hope you didn't go too big on the rear tire like I did! I'm probably gonna stay with 3.0x10" rear next time around. I noticed my 3.5x10" rear tire still rubs a bit when my tire expands going 40+ downhill.

    • @xxVGMxx
      @xxVGMxx 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@PatOutdoors I went with a 80/90-10 Rear tire. The 3.5x10 sits 16.5” tall which is causing your rub. The 3.0x10 sits 16.5” tall as well which would cause same rubbing issues. The 80/90-10 is 15.5” tall so it fit stock setup with no need to move the motor back like you did and it’s just slightly less wide than the 3.0x10. A 2.75x10 would fit stock as well as its height is about the same as 80/90-10 but it’s not as wide as 80/90-10. That’s awesome to hear they have great customer support like that! Note that these batteries yes will be a little wait on shipping but I have done a lot of research and these should fit in the stock mx650/mx500/sx500 bottom tray as they have sides less than 203mmx155mm which is the bottom tray length and width.

    I have this controller but it does two things that I am not a big fan of. I was wondering if you knew any fixes for them. I have an 1800w motor, however, my top speed is only 28 mph with a 13tooth sprocket. I should be getting around 32-35, do you know why I am not? Also the other thing is that when I get down to around 60-70% battery or less, the low voltage cutoff on the controller cuts the power to the bike everytime you accelerate fast. Do you know a fix for this?

    • @PatOutdoors
      @PatOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m using a 52 volt battery and a larger diameter rear tire, hence why I have a higher top speed. What’s the voltage reading when it cuts off power? Most 48 volt controllers cut power around 41-42 volts
