Thank you. I wasn't able to find many videos on this product, and the videos I did find cut out the part where it showed the wiring of the controller. This helps a lot.
Wish I’d seen this sooner. Ordered a wiring harness for 30$ when I could’ve just watched this. I also lost my Bluetooth dongle so that’s another 50$ and week of waiting. 😅
For those looking for an adapter wire harness we make it so there's no wiring but still super cheap to just buy a adapter harness with our volt meters or keys 🤙 awesome video dude!
Nice! You check all your hall sensors are matched up correctly by colors? All secure connections? You run auto learn? Set your # of pole pairs and voltage first..
The video helped me out tremendously. Thank you very much. One question about the charging. I want to use the same charging method you pointed in the video. I have to solder the female xt60 bullet plug to a female xt60 plug right? And what guage wire should I use. This would be my first time soldering anything. Once again thanks for your help you're the man!
Thank you! Yes Sir, there are a lot of videos on how to solder a xt60 or 90 check em out, its easy once you know how to setup your connections. I would use 14awg wire, little extra but you should never skimp on your wiring. I use it on all my chargers. Good luck!
Hi there, the FD are great when it comes to this.. you get a 3 speed switch and can customize the power on each setting... So right now on a fast build like this I do a 1.) 25% with rpm limit of like 3000 and a 2.) 50% with rom limit of 5000 and then 3.) 100% crazy setting. You can also limit the power overall, so if its a kits only bike, you can just set the max amps to like 40a, and it will be nice and smooth for younger riders.
See what pair is the switch with an ohms meter.. those 2 are positive, then the other is a negative to give you volt reading. If volt reading stays on when the switch is off. Swap positive wires.
Hi thanks for a great video just a question if it’s ok I’m wanting lights and stuff in my bike can I wire it to the controller like you said or do I need a converter thanks.
You need to provide + power to the orange wire otherwise it will not turn on... Its your switch to turn it on and off! Need to be able to do that for safety.
Thanks!! Just wire the headlight up to the + and - on the controller if you have a headlight that can handle the Volts of your battery. Put a switch anywhere on the + lead to turn it on and off as needed.
Hey! Yes the far driver controllers have regen! If this goes on a Razor, you'll need a welded free wheel and delete the chain tensioner to make it work right! 👍
The one on amazon is a little smaller FD controller, but matches the motor better. Really shouldn't be pushing these motors past 80a, which is what the amazon controller pushes. 100a on hotpaxx, you will need the heat sink and to watch your temps for sure.
Ah yeah, well it's rechargeable so not trash.. but it all depends on how many amps you are pulling for how long. If it's 20ah like this one, you can pull 20a consistently for an hour. This is on the smaller size for an ebike/razor.
A good 72v is best to get from someone reputable like www.amorge.com/. I haven't seen anything well rated on Amazon... most stay away from BTR for sure. If you go with a blue battery, make sure to get a battery tester and make sure its legit! amzn.to/4dSwIMF
Hi there! This is an amorge battery. You can email kenny@amorge.com for more details. Coamm are also really popular, lots of positive reviews amzn.to/3SZuQtP if you dont want to wait about a month, coamm are a good solution.
@@HonorPizarro yeah but you will have to turn down the controller to 30a... Or you can put 2 batteries together and do 60a which is where the fun really starts
Hey, very good and informative video! I am also thinking about buying this kit. Did you faced any issues with the throttle like the guy here did - th-cam.com/video/DE8XGz-5Q8w/w-d-xo.html ? Also, how does the throttle repsonce behave, is there any delay or is it instant? I know there is some setting in the app for it. From your video it looks it's pretty responsive, but is it the same if under load in the real conditions? Many thanks! :)
I had tons of issues... Never could get it to run right... I isolated it to the orange wire motors and returned most of them... Video on that here: th-cam.com/video/P7vKEJCD-BE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=eSxrkxkprbvsNbDM . I stick with black wire Vevor motors or the kunray KR5v, love those!
@@TackleThat wow that's interesting, why they are selling it if it's not forking in first place... So you are advising classic vevor motor with black wire (sadly I can't use kr5v) with this controller? I also thinking about Kelly KVD (not sinusoidal) maybe it would be easier to set, who knows
Just what I needed thank you very much 🙏!
Glad to hear, thanks for your support!!!👍
Thank you so much, I’m engineering my own e bike from scratch and haven’t found a quick concise guide like this. Much love!
Cool to hear, thanks for the feedback!!

And where do I get that battery is the other one doesn’t work
do all the adapters like the battery and the ring connector for the on switch come with the controller?
Not usually, but most sellers like hotpaxx.com sell one for you!
Is there a video how to connect the terminal block?
I sure do! Check ✔️ this out: th-cam.com/video/ZnRcU8Pa3eo/w-d-xo.html
How do you make that orange wire to get power(8:20)?
Hi there! Orange wire goes to a switch for on and off.
What heat sink is necessary
Check out the one on hotpaxx.com.. comes with thermal paste too!
Are there any other battery’s that I can use for this that have the same connections and that same cord
Not many, but any good battery comes with the pigtail for the controller too... You may just have to put ring connectors on it.
Does anyone have a link to the small red plug for the throttle?
(The positive lead for the controller)

You set the hall pairs to match your motor? Make sure all colors on phase and hall sensor wires match? 💪😎👍

I got the volt/key combo and has 3 wires g/r/b how do i wire that up
See what pair is the switch with an ohms meter.. those 2 are positive, then the other is a negative to give you volt reading. If volt reading stays on when the switch is off. Swap positive wires.
My throttle has the key switch wire blue and yellow connected will that work for this controller
It sure will!!
Where do you get that throttle
That was Hotpaxx.com, they have plug and play throttles and key switches.
Does this kit come with that red power wire?
I dont think so, but hotpaxx does sell it too.
so if i got this same kit it will just be a simple type thing like pluging in no wire cutting or soldering or anytinh like that right ?
That should be the case!
@@TackleThat ok thanks

I’m wanting lights and stuff in my bike can I wire it to the controller like you said or do I need a converter thanks.
Hey No problem!! If you get 48v or 72v ebike lights that match your setup, no need to step down the voltage.. that's what I do!💪
These are awesome! amzn.to/3WpkN2c
Would this controller work for the 72v 3000w my1020d vevor motor to?
Yeah for sure!!💪
Do you need the orange power wire or can it still work without it ?
You need to provide + power to the orange wire otherwise it will not turn on... Its your switch to turn it on and off! Need to be able to do that for safety.
Bro that’s a dumbass question 😭😭😭 it’s the only wire that connects to the motor that’s clearly visible on ur bike

What 72v battery do you recommend that is compatible with the controller?

dose it have regenarative charging the seller say no
Hey! Yes the far driver controllers have regen! If this goes on a Razor, you'll need a welded free wheel and delete the chain tensioner to make it work right! 👍
Thank you may I ask what is the speed of it
It depends on a lot of factors like your bike, gear ratio and riders weight.. but this can do 40 to 50 pretty easily on most builds.
Is the controller and motor kit from Amazon you used is similar to hotpaxx one?
The one on amazon is a little smaller FD controller, but matches the motor better. Really shouldn't be pushing these motors past 80a, which is what the amazon controller pushes. 100a on hotpaxx, you will need the heat sink and to watch your temps for sure.
