Just a suggestion : take white pillowcases put them over top of your pillow and then put your normal pillowcase on top of that! Then, you can change all your whites like every couple months in the washer (with a little bit of baking soda ) and then, put them back on the pillows so if you use the pill white pillowcase as a cover it really saves your pillows and it’s more it’s cleaner and more hygienic
They still will yellow, just not as quickly
Put pillow in sunshine for as long as it takes. It will bleach the pillow. (Cloth diapers that were hanging in the sunshine always came out totally white.)

Hi, Thank you for the video.
It reminded me it's been awhile since I washed my pillows. I put Persil and water in a spray bottle and pretreat the stains for an hour or so, then wash with detergent, and a half cup each: washing soda, baking soda, and Borax, with a cup of distilled vinegar in the rinse, and laundry balls. However I do like taking them to the laundromat to use the big giant washers and dryers there, quick and easy, prewash, and second rinse cycles too.
Your method does sound quicker though.

I just threw away 4 pillows because they had turned yellow. and spots. Some of them were in the attic in one of those bags you use the vacuum on to remove the air so it compresses it down. The pillows and with throw pillows which were white with black braded trim had turned yellow. I did was the the throw pillows with bleach but threw the others away.
How does OxiClean compare to LA’s Totally Awesome Oxygen cleaning? Does it work as well? I’m not sure if they’re the same thing

Can this be used on down pillows and/or down blankets?
No, I washed 1 down pillow and it got sooo heavy when wet that when my washing machine went through the last cycle it seemed like there was cement in it. It took a whole week in the direct sun to dry it. I ended up throwing it out. I now take it to the dry cleaners.
How do you clean the molded foam pillows?
Gross they go in garbage
Will this work for a memory foam pillow cover that is badly yellowed?
I just use bleach n detergent for my memory foam covers if you don't wanna use bleach, detergent n borax works well too

I don’t think you can do this to down and feather filled pillows. Only polyester filled. I will try the scrub on my down comforter to get out body oil stains on the ends of the comforter.

Why, yes you can, Sandy lee b! But if you have to rinse yourself in the bathtub, you may have used just a little bit too much Dawn whatever part of the day it is you've chosen to go whole hog! And remember to rinse that toothbrush before you put it back where others may think it's good to use. :)
I presoak my white with Iron Out
After 2 times in the washer the pillow padding will bunch up. So you can only do this once. please don't do this to a foam pillow.
You could just get a heavier fabric, pillow ticking. Not poly cotton. Ask at fabric store. Sew up a new cover and toss the old.

I use 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner and as hot the water as can be to wash the pillowcases that are oily. Smell awesome as well. Thank you for the great tips. 💛
