I heard a saying from another reactor and it fits all PTX music. "They serve the music, not each other and not the individual, they serve the song." that's what makes them great.
My opinion….a reaction video is not a place to come to watch the video! I think the entire point is to hear your thoughts! Thanks for sharing your appreciation of the talent that is PTX!!
From Daft Punk to The Prayer…just sitting or standing…they create a visual story by combining lighting, fashion, and cinematography with their amazing voices and intricate arrangements. So many different types of artistry! Just lovely! 💕
Great reaction! Pentatonix not only has the ability to communicate words, and harmonies, and emotions with their singing, they also have the ability to steal any verbal response from their listeners. It is SO HARD to get any intelligent words out of one's mouth after hearing/watching some of their music videos. People with a music and/or visual arts background stands a little bit better chance at saying something worth saying, but not much! I enjoyed your reaction videos and I look forward to seeing more!
You are spot on and I’ve often commented on this aspect of PTX performances (both live and recorded): there are geniuses at work both in front of and behind the camera. The cinematographers, lighting guys, arrangers (Ben Bram) deserve their share of the plaudits. For this one, in particular: Grammys for everyone!
There’s a 3-4 minute video out there somewhere that shows the making of this video. They created with snowy forest on a sound stage. It looks fantastic.
When Scott finished singing in Italian and you stopped, opened mouth and tried to say something, I laughed out loud. I knew EXACTLY what you were feeling. The first time I heard Scott sing his part. I was blown away. I don't think I had ever heard his voice sound so rich and GORGEOUS!! I have seen other Pentaholics say PTX does enhancements, not covers. :o)
Love your appreciation for these amazing people. Such talent to be in awe of. Leaves me speechless too but Im here to hear your reaction so talk all you want.
I have no artistic talent, but I like how the song starts with the melody and isolates Kirsten just before the vocals begin. The scene shows Kirsten as the high note verse begins and after she walks behind the tree, Mitch comes out the other side with the the first verse with his awesome high voice. Psyche!!!
And I love your reactions, Jeff! And no, you DO NOT talk too much. I watch your reactions specifically to listen to your comments and to see your face in amazement, shock or just speechlessness. I think this is their best arrangement to date and I can’t listen to it enough. Please react to some PTX Christmas songs 💕
Scott really showed his vocal range in this one-he went from low register operatic Baritone to the higher accompanying vocal at the end w/Mich building to the lovely high climb on the extension of “safe”..they all showed great vocal range and emotion, but for me, Scott really showed his range and his ability to once again singing in a different language so passionately. He’s sung so far in Korean, Japanese, French, now Italian and also Spanish along side Kirstie’s vocal. Matt’s warm bass, Kevin vocals and percussions added a powerful depth, Mitch and Kirstie added such a brightness with here harmonies-:-) A wonderful/beautiful arrangement and a mesmerizing video. I hope they get nominated for another Grammy for this one-heck, I still think they deserved one for Hallelujah!
Great reaction, Jeff! I feel transported every time I hear this song, and I get to see what that feeling looks like, because it's reflected clearly on your face. The naked voice is a powerful instrument.
Great to have you back reacting to PTX. They were on a TV show last week. It was a sing along tribute to the band, Queen, and they sang "Somebody to Love". I would love to hear your reactions to that one. Also, they dropped a new album called "Evergreen". I hope you also react to that. "The Prayer" is on that album. Are you going to be able to go to one of their Christmas concerts? I am. Can't wait. I really appreciate you spending so much time reacting. You can stop as many times as you want as far as I'm concerned. The vast majority of your watchers have seen this video many times. Thank you!
Hi Jeff! Great reaction, full of interesting thoughts and knowledge, an honest reaction. Every time I see a Pentatonix video I end loving more and more each song, and that happened with this song… now I’m hooked. Good job in your channel!
We're on the same page re our favorite ensemble, Pentatonix, who always bring their best to this kind of challenging music. I don't know if they are going to make a video of it or not, but my second favorite song on thier "Evergreen" album is "I Saw Three Ships" which they give their very best 16th century spin on, including the extremely complicated rondo percussion with the clapping hands. I can just see Mitch and Scott, dressed for success c. 1568, at the docks of Greenwich, looking out to sea on a gorgeous, sunny day in December. Don't think they'll need all that cinematography but everything about their presentation screams of the Elizabethan age. Please review it!
I’ve watched a few (all of your PTX) of your reactions. You were close to speechless in this one as were most of us when we heard it for the first time. This, in my opinion, is epic. They were made to perform this song. Thanks for the reaction
I notice from your intro music that you might like jazz. Their cover of "You're A Mean One, Mr. Grinch" might interest you. Also, there is a young jazz pianist you might enjoy, Joey Alexander. His studio rendition of "Favorite Things" is amazing. PTX does "Favorite Things" as well. Aaack! Too much to choose from!
A great reaction to this stunning performance. I’ve probably listened to this performance approaching 50 times, and I’m moved with every listen. Enjoy you Thanksgiving.
I love your reactions and please keep talking! We (well I) like to hear your thoughts and insights - it's what makes watching reaction videos interesting!
hello santa claus ops bearded haha... i love your gray beard.. huhuh. I hope that someday I reach your level and have this beautiful look haha this song was made for Mitch and Scott, perfect match. And this ending with Mitch's range change, incredible and unbelievable.. a big hug and (a maybe) kiss from brazil haha
I’ve been looking forward to your reaction to this song and it was, as always, enjoyable and informative. Thank you so much and please keep reactions to Pentatonix coming😀
Mesmerizing. I had to watch and listen several times to hear specific layers. So much there. Do you think that last high note was Kevin? He too has beautiful tenor with a crystelline countertenor. .
can I request that you react to 4th Impact . They are 4 sisters from The Philippines with amazing harmonies . They auditioned for x Factor UK in 2015 and their audition video has more than 182 million views on you tube. They can sing any genre of song. A few suggestion from them ......Bang bang ( jessie J - audition song ), I'll be there ( jackson 5), Leave the door open ( silk sonic), Never enough ( Greatest showman) or even Bohemian Rhapsody ( Queen). THEY WILL NOT DISAPPOINT.

So true! Great observation
and you dont listen to their music, you can feel it.
This is my new PTX favorite! The harmonies are exquisite.

Beautifully worded comment btw!
No, they are walking around in awe!
Mitch is a natural contra tenor, so rare, they all harmonize so well with ridiculous range as well.
Your moments of silence spoke volumes. I am speechless every time I listen to this. Thank you for appreciating them the way I do.

This IMO is their best ever. I keep having a new favorite of their music. No weak link in this group. A Grammy I hope.
This has to be another Grammy winner.
I think it's worthy of a Dove Award as well. This is absolutely inspiring.

I love these beautiful people. They are so talented.
This video is ethereal. In my opinion this is their best thus far. Grammy worthy for sure.

I know what you mean....I miss being in a choir. I just wish the a capella choir I was in was more like this. :)
Stunning. Absolutely stunning.

I reacted to it last year. SO fun! I'll check to see if I left it off my PTX or XMAS playlist. Check those playlists to see if it's there.
This is such a masterpiece 💜🌺

I’ve been looking forward to your reaction to this song and it was, as always, enjoyable and informative. Thank you so much and please keep reactions to Pentatonix coming😀
Josh Groban sang this with Charlotte Church to close the Winter Olympics in 2002...says Google.

I think so!
There is a BTS video for this that might interest you.
My question is, has David Foster heard this?? Does anyone know? I’d really love to hear about his reaction if he has!

We definitely need more baritone Scott..... Italian or not.

Can’t see what you are playing everything is shadows
