Chapeau Fede really pleased for you you’re in the modern era, disc brakes next 🤣. I’ve still got rim brake bike so might be worth investing!! Happy cycling 🚴
Nice! When I got back into road cycling after a long gap, friends recommended that I got Di2. I’m so glad they did. I just added a Bluetooth module, so that like you, I can program using the phone app. Enjoy. 😊
Well, once again your mechanical skills were put to the test, well done!! And, as many have said, including you, it will be difficult to return to the mechanical group. I am very happy that you liked it and there is no doubt that it is an added pleasure factor while cycling. Abraço 🚲😄
I'm seriously tempted by this. I have a 2021 rim brake Canyon Ultimate, like yourself, and was set on upgrading my groupset from 105 to Ultegra due to wear and tear - now this comes along. So although it seems to be pretty much neutral weight wise, getting an extra gear would help an awful lot of the climbs.. going from 11-30 11 speed to 11-34 12 speed with a more even gear spread. Very tempting indeed. The only downside is the aesthetics - that front derailleur looks pretty bulky and ugly. Thanks for the review! That bike looks beautiful - I love the fact it has a plain, stealthy look with no branding or stickers everywhere. Very neat indeed 👌
I have this system installed on a Colnago Concept frame the only issue is the system is designed to fit Shimano and other established manufacturers cassettes and chain rings so you have to adjust the indexing for all the sprockets if you use other companies cassettes or chain rings. There are 2 hex bolts on the rear derailleur which need to be adjusted this is not done on the app this has to be done manually so in case the controller messes up it can’t shift down pass the first gear or the bigger top gear.
I guess that having a successful TH-cam channel, and being a great ambassador for cycling has it's bonuses. Thanks for sharing your experiences with this groupset, and I look forward to any updates. Rim brakes forever 😄
the beauty about this wheeltop is that we now have cheaper option for mechanical disc brake fully wireless! really curious for the longterm review since some store also start preorrdering for this product. Grazie Fede, enjoy.
Awesome- my experience with going wireless is, before you do it you think nothings wrong with mechanical. Once you do it- you’ll never go back to mechanical. *Updates to wireless… *waits a further 4 weeks for it to stop raining in the UK!!!!
Absolutely, electronic shifting definitely feels so much better! Might keep the mechanical on the Canyon as it does have a weird 53/36 set-up, but it would feel agricultural 😂
Hi thanks for review, I have purchased as well and love it. One question have you worked iut how to calibrate gears using the shifters? So far done it with the app only
I’ve got one on my bike. Slight niggle though is that I adjust the screw when I’m in The lowest gear (36/30) so the front derailleur doesn’t rub, but when I’m shifting in the big ring it doesn’t trim in the middle gears enough, so get rubbing on the front mech. If I shift down to 9-10-11 trims. A bit annoying and not been able to solve it.
I am not sure how to fix this, luckily I have a very minor front DR rubbing when I cross chain when in the big ring, I then move to the small front ring and it is all okay. I did not touch the screws, only adjusted the rear indexing with the app.
Interested to see how this works over the next few weeks Federico. A point about the weight of the two group sets, you’ve took weight off the handlebars and moved it much lower down on the bike, that is a good thing in my mind.
It's a great groupset, my experience is exactly like yours with the front derailleur, its almost impossible to stop the tiny bit of noise if in big-big gear combination but I guess we shouldn't be cross chaining. Wheltop say they optimized the groupset for 12 speed, maybe the slightly narrower 12 speed chain would cure this? I've bought a 12 speed chain and cassette to upgrade but haven't fit them yet.
I bought the previous Velobuild frame in McLaren Prost-Senna colours, but I had the workshop to complete it. This silver one I put it together myself, I have a video here th-cam.com/video/T-qspaK6xac/w-d-xo.htmlsi=dLrFxP0L1npn1qn6 and here th-cam.com/video/vGxhjmzdnEk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=6MpNsXG6Td2NNAFH
Federico, i am about to purchase this groupset. My concern is i have a fairly basic phone and i am not up to speed on the latest tech. How would i go setting this up? Brian
I would say a smartphone is required to run the app and do the set up. From the manual there should be a way to do it with the levers, but it seems quite a task. See the manual here to see if you can understand. With the app you can see it much better. cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0589/9655/5828/files/EDS-TX_instructions.pdf?v=1707117217
This is a Velobuild VB-R-068, inspired by the old Specialized Venge Vias. Got the frame for less than £500, really fast in the right conditions. I have a few videos on this one and the same previous larger frame in red and white McLaren colours.
@@BeachDaddyLB They also do a Dogma replica, but that looked too much like a copy with its distinctive shape, while this one is more a generic aero bike.
Hi, I bought the groupset EDS-TX and installed it on my racing bike (LOOK Optimum 765+). During the initial calibration I made the mistake of not reading the instructions first. I started the initial calibration when the front derailleur was on the small sprocket (and not on the large sprocket as in the description) and at the rear on the largest sprocket (and not on the smallest as in the description). Now nothing moves like that anymore correct! Is it possible to somehow reset the switching group to factory settings or something similar? I would be happy about any tip. Many thanks, Frank
@@frankhauer1436 hi, I believe you would need to do the set up again, moving the front derailleur to the big ring and move the rear derailleur to the small cog that they call 1st gear. I would also remove the chain and reinstall when the rear derailleur jockey wheel is under the smallest cassette cog. From there you would do the indexing again moving towards the larger cogs.
They mention a long life expected, I will check in real terms what it means. Mechanical groupsets are lighter, so staying on the same weight is a good result with the convenience of fully wireless.
