Last I heard the driver suffered a medical emergency which caused the wreck, and someone was at a desk behind the wall. Both were recovering last I heard.
"It still has electrical power." Lol. That reminded me of the scene in Planes Trains and Automobiles where John Candy brags to the state trooper that their burned out car still has a functioning radio.
Your videos make me want to switch jobs and go towing since I've had an interest in it for a long time, I've just never made the jump to try. Good job getting that truck out of the building though! Keep the awesome videos coming!
That’s how I was for many years. I was established and didn’t really need to switch it up, but made the jump and haven’t looked back. I love what I do.
Dustin, I though about changing my career to towing and recovery but my fear is that I am older and being on the edge of late 30s going into my 40s I don't know how long I could do towing and recovery
I feel the same way since I'm in my mid 30's but at the same time, where I currently work I love delivering and picking up machinery. So towing is something I'm highly considering switching to. Worst case scenario I just go back to what I know if it doesn't work out.
What is a HGB? Grass is so slick in the rain. But you need rain. We do in Arizona too. The driver must have been shocked when that building came up, and probably embarrassed too about being so negligent and reckless. He only had time for that, this is going to hurt, thought.
23:12 I’m curious as to why do you prefer strapping it higher? I don’t know too much about towing but it seems like an awesome career that’d i be interested in
hey man great video that's crazy how the truck ended up in the building like that i watch ron Pratt and one other tow guy thank you all for what you guys do 😀
hay Dustin stop into dollor general and get a can of dg lubercent to lube up your ratchet. that stuff works great and I always keep a can with me in my utility bed.
Hey brother, one of those calls where a wheel lift is better than a flat bed. You already know my opinion between the two types of trucks. Lol. With a flatbed 25,000 pounds pounds or more on soaked ground, compared to a wheel lift 15,000 pounds and up. Both only have 1 set of dual tires in back. The loading on the drive tires on your flatbed would have dug trenches! Hats off to fire, police and EMS, all needed and much applause 👏 🙌 👍. Be safe
I had to watch this video again. Since it involves something very important. I have towed, but, before I was a electrician for 18 years. I don't know building in Texas, not a bit. This looks like a "older " building. Probably been worked on a lot. From the video Justin has, it's a 3 phase, typical for commercial. Hard to see in the video, but, 4 lines from the pole to building. Might be single phase now, since one meter socket, doesn't have a meter. Fire department might have removed it. The truck just missed everything. We as people want to help, just be careful and cautious if we come across a situation, that could be like this. Most common electrocution deaths 110/120. The person gets grounded. 3 phase plays different I doubt it was 277/480. My point is, when in doubt, walk away. Call for help and assistance. The old saying, bad plumbing can get you wet, bad electrical can kill you. Be safe. God bless!
This definitely had the opportunity to be a very dangerous situation outside of the damage already caused. Which is why we worked closely with the fire department to make sure it was safe before we removed the vehicle. They had already shut off all the breakers.
Hey Brother I am a tow truck driver out of Nashville. Just wanted to say that I appreciate the quality and content of your videos. I look forward to all uploads. I learn quite a bit from you. I have one thing I'd like to ask if you could try is to allow the camera to see where you hook j hooks when you are pulling the vehicle onto truck.
Thank You! Positioning my body in a way to see everything like that is quite hard, and my ultimate purpose there is to get the job done, and filming second. I’d rather miss a few shots than tie up a hand holding a camera and wasting a bunch of time in a dangerous spot.
This is why our company does a “home for the holidays” thing every major holiday, where we tow people home (locally) for free, no questions asked, if you’re under the influence.
That did have me puzzled as to how he got into that predicament . But when you said he gunned it in those rd conditions, say no more. So close to Christmas, and being so wet for awhile seems people are going a little crazy. At Christmas time here in Australia it is much the same 😮. Take care Dustan look forward to the next one. 😊
I had a boss ask me one time "should I put damage free Towing in our ad?" "I said yeah sure because all the damage we do is free"😆 Anyway I enjoy the videos but after 20+ years on the job now retired I sure don't miss it Stay safe out there
This truck doesn’t have a locker, or 4 wheel drive. Taking an 18,000 truck into a wet, muddy area is asking to get stuck, or get a damage claim for tearing up someone’s property.
Dustin do you have any accident rotations that need a different kind of truck other then your regular Rollback you drive, does it make a difference if the wheel lift truck has a streight boom or a foldable wheel lift truck doing a wrench out like this one with the pickup inside a building
There aren’t very many situations that “need” a different truck, other than some special recoveries, but it can make it easier. The wheel lift has no effect on a recovery if you’re not using it to tow the vehicle.
When I was in the towing business, most towed truck brands Dodge and Chevy. Most towed car brand BMW. I'm not brand favorable. My Ford has 265,000 miles, been towed once. My Jeep has 187,000 miles, never been towed.
I could have, but that would have taken a lot of rigging. I could have attempted to pull into the grass, and probably made it. But why not use the right tool for the job, if it’s available.
its just so surreal seeing my hometown in these videos
Awesome teamwork! Fire, Law enforcement! Everyone!
Fast and efficient! People should not be working near live wires in the rain. Thanks for sharing! 😊

Oh, did Seri have her baby?
It's "HEB" and it's a grocery store of Texas
HEB is a grocery store, and yes, she had her baby
Can’t imagine the call to the insurance company of the truck in the building 😅 good work!
We're rollin' in hot!!
I do to going to fast or his breaks went out on them and my thoughts and prayers are always with them I just hope that they are alright
It was a medical emergency.
23:12 I’m curious as to why do you prefer strapping it higher? I don’t know too much about towing but it seems like an awesome career that’d i be interested in
Because it pulls down and against the way it wants to roll, and when you strap all corners, can’t move anywhere.

The truck looked not too bad...at least the part that was sticking out of the building. But, the front part is not good.
It was pretty crunched up. But could have been a lot worse.
@@Towtruck_Dustin That's a goner, right?
Your flatbed do have DAF lock so you could just come on the wet grass or 4Wheel drive
This truck doesn’t have a locker, or 4 wheel drive. Taking an 18,000 truck into a wet, muddy area is asking to get stuck, or get a damage claim for tearing up someone’s property.
@Towtruck_Dustin but I have a wreck truck heavy than your own and I going on wet grass with it without sticking or damaging someone properly

@@Towtruck_Dustinwould Donny's wheel lift truck or been a better truck to tow it to the yard or did it have to be hauled on a flatbed
It could have been wheel lifted to the yard, but it’s always safer to tow it on a flatbed, especially with a hard front end collision like this.
@@Towtruck_Dustin oh just couldn't tell if it would be safely towed on Donny's wheel lift truck

Why did the fire department rip the wire to the battery?😂😂
I didn't see where the truck drove through the building it drove into the building not through it 😂
Did the business sign say drive thru? Hope the driver is ok
Last I heard all involved were recovering.
If you didn’t have a wheel lift available, couldn’t you have just setup on the road and ran winch, chain/straps to the truck?
I could have, but that would have taken a lot of rigging. I could have attempted to pull into the grass, and probably made it. But why not use the right tool for the job, if it’s available.
There's a guy with another towing channel I sometimes watch who pretty much never properly secures vehicles to the deck.
Unfortunately it’s fairly common for guys not to use proper securement.
How did this one happen? how did it get to the building lol
