The more I watch these videos, the more I realize the key is to have a well organized tow truck.
It definitely helps.
Organization is a detail many drivers miss, But it saves a lot of time when you have a truck heavily equipped, for some it doesn't matter because they don't really carry much, but when you have two big ass boxes fully stocked from top to bottom plus fender boxes and shit then it becomes quite the time saver. I know my truck is setup with all recovery rigging and tie down straps on the passenger side, all floor dry on the passenger side, All tools (impact, jack, skates, hammer, leaf blower, etc) is on the driver side, trash can is also on the driver side, I have an airline on both sides with the hose in the driver side box, and all my tools are put in the same exact spot everytime. Makes it so i can carry 1000 pounds of equipment and never get shit lost, yet my other drivers who ignore organization can carry only 100-200 pounds of shit and still waste 5 minutes digging through trashed boxes to find shit.
Organization is efficient and speeds up the process.
@towtruckaj Well you should ask or tell them to get organized with their stuff, or shit, as you call it. Quite simple.
@@towtruckajDo you drive a nice new truck? Do your employees drive old worn out crap? That would make a difference in pride! Customers also see that. I worked for a very big company, most drivers didn't care, they just wanted a get a paycheck. Pride comes from within. Respond if you want to. Stay safe, peace brother.
Appreciate seeing you strap down all four sides. I don't believe my state requires four, so all the rollback operators usually only strap a front tire and the opposing rear. Like left front, right rear. Hate seeing it.
DOT requires 4 points of securement.
Most operators are just lazy.
I would like to see all states require tow vehicles to have red and blue lights. I deal with so many people not moving over just because we have just amber lights
As one of the first female tow truck drivers the technology now fascinates me. Imagine there being very few rollbacks. All of the tow vehicles were slings only.
And the griping when you told a vet owner, we can't tow that. It's fiberglass, it will get destroyed. Or those fancy little air dams they put out without letting towing companies know about them. They also needed one of those very rare rollbacks.
Great Job Dustin, unfortunately for me I’m still dealing with one of your viewers from yesterday’s video with the lady who had a flat tire. The person is being so confrontational it’s ridiculous. But I know what I meant by my statement and unfortunately he can’t seem to let I go.
Best bet is to just stop replying. Can’t argue with yourself lol
@@Towtruck_Dustin keep up your great work.
That's the buc-ee's I went yesterday
That’s awesome. I stop by there whenever I’m over that way.
A lot of work but a great job
Thank You!
bellissimi video, complimenti, sei simpatico e carino, bravo.
Hey, Dustin, would silicone spray work better for your bed and tires to get the vehicle off the bed better, just asking?
Not sure it would be any better but it would work.
You may wanna remove the trailer ball before it catches on an oil pan or worse.
Hey Dustin! How was your Thanksgiving?
It was great! Got to cook/eat some great food, and hang out with family for a little while.
How was yours?
@@Towtruck_Dustin Awesome! I went to my aunt's house for Thanksgiving
Nice Lexus most likely stolen cause of no plate
How much you want for the Lexus lol
It’s gone already lol
If these were abandoned, how does the company get paid? How long do you let them sit before you can get a salvage title and sell them or scrap them?
Any vehicle in impound must sit for 45 days, before we can get the title, and the title is whatever status it was before. So if it’s a clean title before it went into impound, it’s clean when we get it.
In most cases, the owners or lien holders come for the vehicle and pay the charges. If they don’t, the vehicle is either sold as is, or scrapped, depending on its condition.
We can also take the registered owner to court for the fees associated with the impound if needed.
@@Towtruck_Dustin Glad to hear you have some recourse to recover your fees and storage. Stay safe out there Dustin!
YOU ALWAYS Explain WHAT YOU ARE DOING WISHT IS GREAT THANK YOU 😁✨💓♥️🇺🇸
Thank You! I always try to explain as best I can.
Great job Dustin hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving 👍🏿
Thank You!
I did. I hope yours was great as well.
I must say of all the wheel lifts I've watched on TH-cam this was the only time I've seen safety chains used.
It’s a good habit to get in to. That one time you need them and don’t have them on will be expensive.
Many people don't use them and many people get stopped and ticketted by dot for it, And thats getting off easy because should you refuse to put on safety chains and you lose a car and it kills someone then you will be going to prison for manslaughter.
@@towtruckaj Wel I know all that . Till he used them I didn't know they even had them.
I ordered one of your hoodies and shirts thanks you for what you do to another brother in the tow life stay safe out there man
That’s awesome! I appreciate that!!
Dustin, I always enjoy the private property impounds, rollbacks can be used to two two vehicles rather the sending two Wreakers
This one worked out well, where I could double tow. Glad they didn’t have flat tires and stuff.
Great job Dustin, enjoy your content!
Thank You! I’m glad!
@Towtruck_Dustin, what is your favourite car to tow?
Can’t say I have a favorite, but I prefer working wrecks, and doing recoveries. The type of vehicle doesn’t really matter
@@Towtruck_Dustin Alright
Hey brother! First time you showed a 2 car call. The stinger you have is better than what we had on our Hinos. I like it! The ratchets I used on the deck only had a big hook, also the chain type, but I liked the hook. Since we had a contract with AAA, I used the over the wheel straps a lot. I never got a damage claim, those customers are out there. What type of jump box do you have? I had a DSR DSJ-2212. It worked very well. Then I bought a DSR 109 that I put in my personal truck, for a back up. Never used it, since my truck always started. So I took it off work a few times. Worked awesome! I only showed it to the company mechanic, he said that was cool. No need to keep tabs on the battery. My 2212 is still going strong today, and it saved some of my customers and the company. A few times I drove a car out of a parking garage, and down to my flatbed. Saving the customer waiting for a wheel lift. Both dispatch and customers make mistakes.
I think I’ve posted a few other double tows, just not very many interesting.
I use a JNC 770 Jump box. It works great.
What ends up happening with the abandoned cars after you’ve towed them
It depends. Generally people come back to get them out, if they sit in impound for 45 days we can file for the title and they become ours.
Love the videos can't wait to see the next one ❤❤😊😊
Thank You!
Do you have to buy your own equipment or does your company pay for it ?
The company provides the basics. Anything that extra I buy. Most of the equipment on this truck is my personal equipment.
Wonder if the Lexus is in repo status?
Hey Dustan do you get snow where you live. We get snow on our hilltops here but clear everywhere else. Do you have much planned for Christmas 🎄?. Stay safe 😊
We get a good snow around every 10 years or so it seems. It generally doesn’t accumulate, and if it does, it won’t stick long.
Another dumb question. How long before do you keep abandoned cars before people have to pick them up or forfeit them? You said when and if, they come for them.
45 days. After that we can transfer the title and own the vehicle.
when i drove a tow truck one was a 56 Chevy w/ a holmes split boom and the other was a 70 Chevy w/ the same holmes split boom
Oh wow!
Thank you Dustin. Really enjoy your videos. Hope you had a great Thanksgiving
Thank You!
I hope you had a great Thanksgiving as well!
That’s a beautiful flat bed
Thank You!
@@Towtruck_Dustin yes my old international compares nothing to this but she gets the bills paid
I enjoy the private property tows. it's beyond me why someone would just leave and not come back for 2 late model cars like these in a parking lot?? Oh well. I hope you had a good Thanksgiving!
We do quite a lot of towing from these store where decent vehicles get parked for extended periods of time and they have them towed.
My question is why do people just abandon their cars like that? I mean someone can break into it and steal valuables or the car itself, even more baffling when someone abandons a car like the Lexus, I mean it could be them dodging payments, I have no clue
Some don’t have money for a tow, so they get it to a “safe place” and leave it there.
The Lexus, actually turned out to be a voluntary repo, but they got the drop off and pickup times messed up, and the property had it towed away before the repo agent came for it.
@@Towtruck_Dustin ah alright
I Really LIKE YOUR VIDEOS DUSTIN ❤😅😮🎉❤
Glad you’re enjoying the content!
FYI-if the Lexus is an F Sport, it should be AWD or RWD. My ES of the same year is Front wheel. The newer models are either front wheel or AWD/4wD with higher end F sport such as F 500 being RWD.
Cool 2xheader.
Awesome job, Dustin.. Easy peasy for you. Have a wonderful day and be safe😊
Thank You! You too!
You left a pin on the ground.
All the little details. You make this so interesting. I had no clue as to how involved this work is. Really like your videos, Dustin.
Hey Dustin. Do you guys use Samsara or Tow book. I tow down in Southwest Florida and we use both.
Awesome job Dustin
Thank You!
Dustin you are one of the best to ever do this towing thing, but we never get to see what you are hooking up to under the cars. We know it’s the control arms but we don’t see that it’s the control arms so the audience will know where to locate them under the car
It’s hard to record under the car. Not much room for me to see, much less get a camera under there and still do my job efficiently.
Love the vids :)
Thank You! Glad you’re enjoying the content!
i want that Lexus, thing looks really sharp
Hey Mr. Dustin great job on the 2 cars today Have a great day.👍
Thank You! Glad you’re enjoying the content!
@@Towtruck_Dustin and your welcome aways glad to watch your videos

Tk you very much for this video 📹 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
liquid dish soap works and its environmentally friendly
I used it on occasion, but have found it easier to store and use WD40.
Do you own this towing company
I don’t own it, but I’m our lead driver however.
I think Danny does.
Thank you

I Take pictures cover your Is but
People come back you did damage to my car
They can try, but if you document right you can prove you didn’t.
Plus having these videos help. Recording has saved my butt many times.
🤑🤑🤑🤑
Making that money.
The Lexus stinks of repo status
Found out when it was towed out of our yard, that actually dropped off there as a voluntary repo, but they got the dates mixed up, and it sat too long and the property had it towed.
They don’t like vehicles sitting very long. Lol
@@Towtruck_Dustin lol from NY to Texas they look the same
Hi again @Towtruck_Dustin. how many wrecks have you been called to? Also is it fun being a tow truck driver, picking up damaged cars and helping with the cops?
