Many thanks Peter, was a great fishing session in the end and I enjoyed sharing it! Hope you are well and with the fine weather coming we must wet a line again!
thanks for selling the little Okuma rod and reel to me the other day looking forward to catching some grunters next weekend .. can't believe I stumbled onto your TH-cam channel
Hey Brett, this has truly been an eye opener for me.....thanks for the content. I grew up fishing for these beauties on lite tackle in Durban bay on the Centre bank.....we used to park at Royal Zulu and walk out at nigh on spring low then wade back with the tide....what a Joll. I never considered catching these fish on lures, non the less top water lures, since all you ever see of the grunter is it tail out the water so why would they feed on the surface .....rite??? well .....I need to try this so please can you do a video of the lure action maybe near the boat so we can see what it looks like and try mimic this magic trick you have going. Thanks again for sharing and Keep that stick bending.
@craigsaayman2427 glad you enjoyed the video, I enjoyed making it! :-) It's an old trick in the Southern and Eastern Cape. To many Anglers have laid credit to figuring it out...I have just kept on tying the method until I got it right. There is no specific lure techniques, some days they just want it drifting along the bank, other days a twitch here and there and then other days a slow 'walk the dog' action with pauses. You just need to figure out the best 'key' to fit the day! Give it a try, Anglers have also said that they can't raise a bite in KZN waters, but that's what I use to say about Gamtoos River! LoL Good luck n tight lines!! :-)
@@garethbenedict1331 not long to prime times at Swartkops. I see some good Garrick and Ladyfish have started already! Waiting for a few days of East a bit later in the Summer for those Kob runs to happen! Keep me in the loop if you see some good action. I'm living out at Gamtoos now, but will be keen to join that side again!
Hi Jan, i have many mates that snag plenty Grunter on Art lure on the Breede. It takes time to find the right spots...once you have that sorted the lure tactics play a small role. Its all about location, location and location! Good Luck!! 🙂
Nice Brett. Really enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing with us it's really appreciated.
