    I get tired of medical providers telling people to reduce stress.
    As if we can control stressful life events or somehow decrease their effects with some stretching & deep breaths. 🙄

    I have lost 40 kg (88 lbs) in the last 6 months. I was prescribed Metformin for insulin resistance with no other symptoms of pre diabetes and I had been “dieting” for 45 years and just gaining weight. With NO lifestyle or diet changes I lost 8 kgs between November 2023 and March 2024. I then went on to cut all starchy carbs and add in intermittent fasting 18:6 and have lost a further 12 kg since March. I also started walking in a swimming pool as I have severe osteoarthritis in my knees which is having a wonderful affect on my posture and fitness. I still have a long way to go but at last the weight is coming off using diet tactics which didn’t work before I took Metformin. I don’t know WHY the Metformin has made such a difference, but from the research I’ve been reading it seems to aid gut health and thyroid hormones. I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s about 15 years ago but I have struggled with my weight since my mid teens, I also have lipedema (which has also improved a lot since Nov).

    14:11 Can we please stop degrading the name, Karen? This trend really needs to go. Just say, “Irrational lady, or overactive, or crazy,” … anything but Karen. I feel so bad for anyone named Karen. :/

    What about Gluten and Dairy? Does it play a role in affecting the thyroid? Also, I've heard intermittent fasting and HIIT workouts put more stress on the body, is that true?

      A great presentation filled with much information that cross-references other sources, but I was so very surprised to not have heard any mention of gluten and dairy and how it adversely affects thryoid! Also, you mentioned night shades, but didn’t advise on deseeding tomatoes.

    This is absolutely one the BEST and most comprehensive video about issues with thyroids, especially on losing weight! You finally helped me to understand WHY my body is not burning the evil visceral fat I have put on. THANKS. Everybody with issues with thyroid should watch this, starting with doctors!!

    I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s 5 months ago. Listening now to all the information I realize that it could have been picked up years ago. But like I have now often heard, the basic bloodwork testing on the thyroid function is done, but shows no abnormality and then it is just left there. Luckily I have found a docter who really listened and I was able to make the necessary lifestyle changes. I feel like a new person, but still experience tough days, luckily knowing about it now, makes it easier to deal with and work through it.

    I’ve recently started hrt and my, almost lifelong, anxiety and depression disappeared. I have hashimotos and I wonder if it all stems from a hormone imbalance?

    Hypothetically asking "what if a hypothyroidism patient loss weight abnormally e.g. lossing 5 or 10 kg body weight in a week including his/her health deteriorates at the same time with the sudden weight loss"

    I am told every single time there is nothing wrong with me. I watched a couple videos and ask for a few specific test. Those showed I have hashimoto's they told me to take selenium, that's it. I am exhausted. I am 49 and haven't had periods in 7 or 8 years. I am always cold and my inflammation is through the roof. I feel like I can barely move anymore. I hate it.

    • @alinaa3642
      @alinaa3642 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. This is how I ve got my brest cancer 😢

    • @denisemoye495
      @denisemoye495 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Estrogen dominance is not an excess of estrogen, it’s an imbalance between estrogen and progesterone. You can have really low estrogen and symptoms of low estrogen but still be estrogen dominant and still have estrogen dominance symptoms. I’ve always thought I had estrogen dominance but also I now realise I had low estrogen. It’s only now I’ve started hrt that the anxiety and depression has disappeared, I’m hoping my thyroid now improves. The first thing they should do when we go in with a possible case of hypothyroidism is check for deficiencies, underlying infections/virues and a hormone test. But no, they just dish out thyroid meds and antidepressants. Such a backward system.
