I just started carnivore for my severe mental health conditions. I’ve toyed with it for a while and have already seen DRAMATIC improvements. Im down three medications. I’m buckled down now and in it for the long haul. I have a story and I can’t wait to tell it. I’m SO GLAD you both are on board and sharing this information. I’ve lost so many friends including my best friend who left this world this past Halloween. I’ve been chasing help at all costs for 5 years, hundreds of thousands on treatment plans, medication, residential facilities… i have only gotten way worse since I have tried to find help. Polydrugged. Our mental “healthcare” system has beyond failed us. Thank God for Dr. Ken Berry sharing this science… it’s saved my life.

When you first started doing it did you have any symptoms? When I’ve tried it in the beginning I go through a lot of pain and I’m wondering if that’s because bad bacteria are dying off. Thank you

@@jdown442 with anything I do, I go “low and slow.” I give myself ample time to acclimate to lower levels of carbs. I’ve been gradually decreasing for about a year. First anything with gluten, waited a couple of months and went to whole foods only, now at doing ketovore with the aim of full carnivore but I go so-so slow and listen to my body and my brain. No pain, actually huge pain relief. I have psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis and my last shot of Skyrizi was last May and I have spots but I’m healing and I’m never going back on a biologic again.

I was in a severe depression and getting sober. My Dr. Had me taking at most 19 pills a day... I got sober on my own and then felt a drastic improvement I wanted to come off meds. He asked why. I told him. He said he felt they were working so he wanted to leave everything as it was. Well I took myself off everything one at a time. And then never went back. Now 41 sober and rx free!!!!!

@@SuperZimpatico No, but you need a doctor who understands what a healthy diet is in the 1st place. Most doctors don't know squat about nutrition & the proper human diet -- that's why there are so many Vegans out there. And most doctors will tell you that the Carnivore diet will give you heart disease, which is a lie. Without access to a knowledgeable doctor, it's hard to make the switch to Carnivore.

Just bought your book! 📕 I am SO excited to start this journey! Couldn’t be better timing! I’m 39, history of mental illness for most my life, misdiagnosed with depression and anxiety. Just found out a few weeks ago that I’m actually bipolar 2 and adhd. And it makes SENSE! If I really think about it, these diagnosis make sense for everything about me in my life. So many emotions with this at my age being diagnosed. I have been SO SCARED of starting lithium and/or lamotragine! I told my psych Dr I needed to really think about this bc these meds are no joke from what I’ve researched. I have NOT started them! I’m also 6 months sober from alcohol! Have struggled with alcohol for 20 years off n on. I finally feel I am in the perfect place in my life and READY to start my healing journey! I am on day 2 of carnivore! Pray for me! I feel like God led me to this carnivore diet when He did for a reason! To spare me from years of pain and agony from going on heavy drugs! THANK YOU BOTH! I cannot WAIT to read your book! Tears of joy! This path just feels right!

UPDATE! I am over 2 months in of eating carnivore with zero cheat whatsoever! I have consumed a few plants here n there but I am mostly all animal products. I eat OMAD. I bought a GKI keto meter and I test my glucose/ketones often. I am in a constant state of high therapeutic ketosis. I. FEEL. AMAZING. The first few weeks was pretty rough just with the adaptation period, not sleeping, RLS, etc. BUT…then it got SOOOO GOOD!! I sleep like a baby, I’ve had NO mental health issues whatsoever! Not been depressed in the slightest, no anxiety, no bipolar episodes! SOOO much energy! I also started doing ice baths! This is the best I have ever been in my 39 years of life. I WILL NEVER GO BACK! Carnivore is my medication and new way of life! Thank you Lord!!! Please stick with this you guys! IT WORKS!!

100% T&P from the VA, I have had a slow and steady decine in mental health for about 18 years. I've tried medications, DBT, CBT, written exposure therapy, guilt/shame counseling, exposure therapy and many different meds. NOTHING WORKS in its entirety, nothing. For 18 long years seeing therapists, group therapy, medical professionals, and pastors never once was I approached with this by any professional, and these people have master's, and doctorates degrees.. im baffled, is my next route, I won't live to see 50 at this rate.
I'll report back in a few months, see what carnivore or at least deep Keto does for me.

Thank you for sharing your story. I'm so happy for you that you are willing to try different eating to see the result for yourself. I don't know what you have been eating while having problems you have been describing.
I had a friend that I wasn't able to convince to come back to eating meat and fat again Over the 25 years I had seen her mental decline as she went vegetarian first and then strict vegan. OMG, her mood swings, panic attacks and paranoia made her very difficult to be around as she was so antisocial. She decided to be vegan for health reasons, and totally lost her mind. She couldn't keep a job, no one could stand being close to her any more and she was so suspicious of other people's malicious behaviour towards her that she ended up all by herself. Veganism 'consumed' my friend's brain and her sanity. It was a tragedy for anyone close to Elena to watch her decline. At the same time, I am very happy for you that you are willing to test for yourself a different type of eating and see the results. I hope it's going well for you and that you might post an update on how things are for you now. All the best to you!

I was vegetarian, then vegan for 6 years and not only did I not lose any weight, during that last year I suffered 5 months on ongoing panic attacks.
My life completely shut down and I was living in a hellish nightmare.
I thought I was literally going crazy and wanted to die.
I snapped one day and went to 2 different fast food places and ordered the fattiest meat they had and ate it like a starving Neanderthal. I then started crying that I was a failure, threw up and guess what?
    My panic attacks stopped.
I went back to eating meat, but still knew I didn’t feel good because my gut health was awful and my weight wouldn’t budge.
I’ve been strict carnivore for a month now and I will never go back.
I wouldn’t wish panic attacks on my worst enemy, let alone months of it nonstop.

I wish I'd seen this on time so I could have asked my question live. I've suffered from a rigorous form of OCD for over 20 years now-, then medicated and on a cocktail of psychotropics since 2004 (I'll be 39 this August). Currently i'm on Pristiq and Rexulti. The tic-like compulsions began for me after I was put on those dreaded antidepressants-- I've made the connection. All I've gotten out of these meds is a hyper-appetite and obesity, and an unnatural biological dependence. I cannot come off them but I cannot get to a place of even remote mental normalcy. I've tried to get on keto/carnivore but can't seem get myself started. Honestly, I have little hope left. I don't think I'll ever derail myself to the point of being hospitalized, but I loathe the prospect of being saddled with this maddening dysfunction for the rest of my life. I've already wasted all of my youth because of mental illness and food addiction. My prospects for the future appear bleak. 😞

I'm 71 years old.. I suffer from complex PTSD and then probably on the spectrum... From age 24 ..I had major chronic depression..I was hospitalized 9 times and given a plethora of meds from age 24 to 55..with horrific side effects from some..one almost landed me in prison when my mom made a suicide attempt... I was acting so weird the police thought I tried to kill my mom... I quit taking all prescription meds.. shortly after that..... Doctors have no idea what some of these drugs do to your mind.. I had thoughts that I would never repeat out loud to anyone... Today and for the last 17 ish years I only medicated myself with cannabis..and unfortunately sometimes alcohol.. I did carnivore for 3weeks in November no alcohol..I felt great..but fell off on Thanksgiving..and been unable to get back..due to an "episode " of mental health crisis.. after being threatened...a trigger to my explosive anger takes over my body..it's very debilitating...I hope this program will motivate me to try harder...I am very tired.

I also have high Cholesterol its 270 but I have clean arteries and a strong heart no plaque at all and Im lean. Every Doctor I went to wanted me on Statins but they upset my liver and caused liver pain. I knew it was not for me. and I was only in my early 40's at that time. Now I am 66, and I have clear arteries no plague a strong heart and a sharp mind. Im not making the same mistake my mom did. My mom lived to 90 with a cholesterol level of over 350. Its a shame the statins drugs destroyed her brain. She would have had a happier life. I will not make the same mistake. Ive been eating a very low carb high fat/protein diet now and feel amazing.

For what it's worth to you.....I saw on a few different doctor/chiropractor TH-cam channels, that Acid Reflux is actually from LOW ACID! I think it's similar to how you have excess moisture in eyes, when you have dry eyes. My eye doctor says with dry eye you overproduce moisture.
      Dr. Berg indicated to
use large quantities of Betaine HCL. One channel says to do 1
Betaine HCL with each meal (middle to end of meal).
I started this about a month ago & still took the full Acid Reflux medicine
at a different time. After a week or so,
I bought a pill cutter & divided the dose in half. I'm still doing a half dose & will start taking 1/4 dose in a few weeks. It gone great!
If you eat something that causes esophageal pain - take a little extra.
Be very careful if you have an ulcer or if you're on an anti inflammatory (like ibuprofen).
      Ask your doctor.

@@carolinenachtrab4357 Yes, when the stomach acidity is low due to pills like that, the food does not digest quickly and fully in your stomach. It sits there and starts to ferment like a vat of grain brewing beer. Fermentation causes that bubbling up of the acid but it's not due to too much acid.

I have been on some form of a Beta Blocker and anti-anxiety medication since university years. I had a fairly normal career, am now retired (69). I can safely say that if it were not for these medicines, I would have been pushing up daisies many years ago. I am now 69, still on the beta blocker and anti-anxiety meds, but the LCHF diet has helped to reduce my dependence, and to reduce the medication. For the rest I am fine, 66 kg, BMI 23, BP 115/75. I used many different SSRI during my career, all were discarded as they gave me no benefit. I also had no problems going off these meds. Doctors still swear by the fact that these SSRI's are good for depression AND anxiety. I have never suffered from depression, and I can attest to it having zero effect on relieving anxiety.
