I have been to Australia for 6 years (before the Covid-19). Which started in UQ in 2017. UQ is the most beautiful uni in Qld, it both did very well on the academic and wonderful environment, and that's why I choose UQ. Thank you for your video that I look back on my uni life, and I am so happy to see the new updates on campus.
I've watched your videos and enrolled in a UQ postgrad programme last year. Unfortunatelly, I haven't been able to be on the campus yet, but hope I can be there next semester! I'm quite satisfied with what the uni offers and wanted to see the campus more and this time this video has it all! Thanks always for making and uploading lovely informative videos🥰🥰
Glad to hear it Allie. I studied in Oxford some years ago. Very different experience to Queensland. People are more relaxed in Queensland and the weather is MUCH better. But the history and academics at Oxford are top notch!
thank youuu so much for your review about UQ last time. This time the review was really great as well. Happy to say that I am at UQ now and I never regret choosing UQ as my uni 🥰
Hi Rob! Thanks a bunch for the videos! I wanted to ask, where'd be the best place to stay (Toowong, etc.) if my campus would be in St Lucia? I'd be starting my undergrad there in July hopefully. Looking for accommodation😆
Yeah Toowong is a good option. The other option if you can find a place reasonably priced is West End or Dutton Park so you can walk across the bridge to the uni.
Hi Rob I have previously spent 2 semesters in Australia during undergrad, and am considering a graduate diploma as I can get some financial aid - and lack some IT skills to advance into the roles in the software industry I work in. I know UQ is comprehensive and there are other universities with a more distinct technology focus like Curtin, UniSA, and QUT where they have GDIP in IT options. But this time I want to try a Go8 and Brisbane is my top choice. UQ offers more course variety in their IT program aswell. 1: Do you think a GDIP in IT would not be a worthy investment? I am not looking to compete CompSci graduates but want grow more knowledgeable in a commercial role. 2. Should I toss away the more sentimental aspect of trying a Go8 environment even though IT is not necessarily their main discipline? Brisbane is my preferred city and also has part time options to work. Thanks for your work
Sorry, totally missed this question. This all depends on your priorities. IT skills (particularly in emerging disciplines like AI and cybersecurity) will alsways be good choices. I love Brisbane as a student city, so reckon UQ is a good option.
@@ChoosingYourUni Thanks for your input :) I might search for a job in Australia first and after moving there further studies so I don't move for studying alone
Thank you for making this video! I really enjoy it. May I ask, for computer science courses, which Unis is better between ANU and UQ? I’m really looking forward to these two unis but still can’t decide yet.
Thank you for your content, really insightful. May I ask, for MS in Mechanical Engineering, what university would you recommend? I'm thinking of FedUni and Flinders
Really depends on what you’re looking for from the experience but I like Flinders’ industry and innovation area at Tonsley. Great approach to engineering. Fed Uni is nice for a real Australian on-campus experience (though I like Flinders’ campus too).
Thank you for making a video about UQ! May I ask, if I want to study physiotherapy, which university, UQ (in Brisbane) or UniSA (in Adelaide), do you think is better in terms of the allied health course, facilities, and the learning environment?
Ah that's a tricky one. Both unis have good allied health programs - UQ has a better campus life imo (physio is at City East at UniSA, which is more or less just a building - not the awesome huge campus that UQ has) but UniSA is right in the heart of Adelaide. If it were me, based on my interests and preferences, I'd probably go to UQ if I could. I love Brisbane as a city (though Adelaide is great too).
Is it possible for a student to work part time to cover his living expenses, accomodation and others while studying here at the University of Queensland?
I guess it depends on what you're studying and how much effort that will take for you. Brisbane definitely has a better cost of living than Sydney and Melbourne, where balancing study and part time work is getting harder.
Thank you for the review your efforts are highly appreciated, what do you think of the bachelor of commerce majoring in accounting at UQ, I wish there was a person who has pursued this degree that I could get experiential knowledge and insight from
Love the video! I just want to ask what are the exams like at UQ or Australia in general (if the same). Is it like: multiple choice, essay, Identification or something? Also, what do you do if you fail your classes in uni?
Am in year 10 currently and tryna find possible unis cuz next year im doing head start where i can take a uni course in high school which goes towards ATAR, QCE points and extra credit for once i go to the uni and I was wondering if UQ has a good reputation with criminology and law degrees?? Based on post job experience and how well it is ranked- im tried researching but havent had that much luck:( tysm for this vid btw!!

Thank you so much.Your videos are very helpful.May I ask, if I am planning to pursue my masters in Data science which uni would better among Monash, Melb uni ,USYD and UQ?
Hmmm, all excellent group of 8 unis, research intensive. If you wanted a different option you could look at some of the technology institutions for a different pedagogical approach: UTS, QUT, Swinburne or RMIT
Hello, would you please recommend some on budget (Cheaper), universities which is best for Masters in education or Early childhood education? I saw these universities but those are really in remote areas. TIA ☺️
Regional unis will always be cheaper. Tbh there are also serious upsides of being in the smaller communities, like closer connection with your lecturers and easier opportunities to get placements.
I was at the uni about a month ago and not a whole lot has changed on campus. New rankings are out and the uni has risen a little, but not enough to justify a whole new video tbh
Thank you very much for introducing more about UQ :) May I ask if it is better to study Bachelor of Physiotherapy in UQ, USYD, or Monash in terms of the course, student support, facilitates, job prospects, cost of living, and living environment? Since I am more used to the urban life. Thank you so much.
These are all excellent universities and are similar in that they are all high-ranking, research intensive institutions. All have excellent courses, facilities and student support. Probably the biggest difference is between the three cities, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne - Brisbane the most affordable city (and the most liveable, in my personal view). Sydney and Melbourne much larger and home to more work opportunities.
I'm from the U.S. and I've become very interested in going to Uni in Australia, UQ being at the top of my list so far. The main differences I don't understand are 1)How do the colleges work? I see that you can apply to specific housing called colleges at UQ and they have their own websites, I don't really get what they are for or if they are the equivalent to dorms in the America. 2) Do most people live on/near campus like in america?
Hi, Rocky! Why don't you start to compare cities too since unis in Oz are everywhere? Like to connect the student life in specific city for example Brisbane, Canbera, Sydney, Adelaide, Victoria, etc. I guess this might be so helpful for international students to understand the quality of life they'll live in later on.

I’m guessing from those titles that one is more hands on (ag science) and the other more oriented around the management and business elements of ag. The question is which side are you most interested in? Both should have good career prospects (proof: Regional universities that teach a lot of ag have the highest starting salaries for graduates).

Similar universities and programs in many ways. I’m a huge fan of Brisbane right now - better climate and cost of living. UQ is really going strong too, so that would be my personal pick. But USYD is an excellent uni too.
