I'm highly considering applying for the exchange program at my uni, currently studying in England at Sheffield Hallam and Queensland is one of the options that I have if I was to apply, so this video has really helped me get a better understanding of what it's like since I've never been to Australia before. Thank youu!
You’re welcome! It’s a great choice for an exchange program! I know Sheffield Hallam - that’s a good uni too. I think you’ll enjoy Queensland (it’s much warmer and sunnier than Sheffield 🤣)!
Hi mate, I'm a high school student that was deciding if QUT was were i am meant to be. This video really helped me to solidify that it is a great choice to make moving into 2020. Great content and authentic commentary. Thanks!
Thanks Nick. Really appreciate your kind words. If you know anyone else looking at unis, please share the channel around - that helps me heaps. Best wishes at QUT. Great uni. Good choice.
I studied international bussiness and information managemet in 1996, it was short time course but still I have green dream and pink memories with Brisbane and QUT. I LOVE all.
Hello Rob, great watching your this video series, its very informative. Thanks for your fantastic work. Depending on different circumstances can you take interview of international students regarding their experience? It may help international students a lot.
Thanks 🙏 I don’t really have a method for choosing interviewees on campus. I just keep an eye out for people who look friendly and relaxed 😎 Maybe in future I could do a series specifically for international students but for now I’m keeping it really broad so it helps everyone.
Griffith has the top nursing and midwifery program in Australia. Number 2 in the world. Gold Coast campus is great and right next to the very modern hospital. Plus great lifestyle on the Gold Coast!
I NEED HELP: If I’m interested in media (interactive and visual), games, animation, is QUT the best? Or is Griffith University or RMIT better? (Or any others) I want to know more about the teachers, course, future career path and real truthful review! Thanks!
Hey Rob thanks for the amazing video I really loved it I'm stuck between UNIVERSITY OF CANBERRA And QUEENSLAND UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY I don't know what to choose I'm going to do IT and Systems as my course do let me know your valuable feedback
Personally I’d be choosing QUT because I love Brisbane as a city. Cost of living is lower and the climate is great. QUT has great industry linkages and applied programs. The positive for UC is that it’s a uni that has really improved enormously in recent years - I believe it is the Australian uni that has progressed the most in global rankings in the past few years. Canberra is quiet and clean, cold in the winter. I love it. It is also where many companies servicing Governemnt are located, so if that’s an interest to you it might be a good option.
Hi Rob, thanks for your video, i really enjoy it. I just graduated and Im looking for an uni to study master majoring in civil engineering. I chose uts and unsw as my priority choices. But after watching this video, im really impressed. Can you give me some advice? UNSW is my first choice (of course) but how about these 2 others unis? UTS or QUT?
ALL of these are excellent universities. UNSW is maybe the most "prestigious", but both QUT and UTS have very strong programs. It depends if you want to be in Sydney or Brisbane. Both have their upsides. All the unis you've chosen are great.
Hi Rob, great video. I've just finished school and have to decide between a Bachelor of Science at QUT or UQ. From your experience of looking around each, what university do you think would be best? Thanks
Both are excellent choice tbh. On campus life maybe better at UQ, but QUT is a very practical, applied uni so that has its advantages too. I really like them both.
Hello Rob, Thanks for another awesome video! I was just wondering as someone interested in a degree in law or criminology which school would you recommend UQ or QUT? Thank you☺️
Oooo, that’s a tough one. Many things to consider in that decision ans both are really excellent unis: UQ super reputable and strong with research, QUT really great for practice real world programs. Either is a good choice depending on what you’re looking for 👍👍👍
For me, Asian business and sustainable business stand out at Griffith, whereas innovation and entrepreneurship, and advertising pop at QUT. I must say, I was blown away by the facilities at QUT Kelvin Grove when I visited a few months back - definitely feels like they've invested a lot in the student experience there. If it were me (and for clarity, my interests in business are digital marketing, entrepreneurship, innovation and management), I'd probably choose QUT.
Hello Rob. I am really glad to see you doing videos on different unis. I have something to ask you plz reply me. The question is I am planning to study IT/Software Eng. Which uni will be perfect MQ or UTS in terms of early employment, research, part time job?
Both good options. Both unis have good industry connections and research programs. UTS is right in the CBD and Macquarie is in a fast growing part of Sydney (where there are a lot of big IT companies). Part time jobs are available near both universities ✅
Hey Rob! I really appreciate the good work you've been doing , this video helped me apply to QUT for my Master's in IT. I'm waiting for their reply and if everything goes well I'll be here in 2021.
Hi Rob! Thank you so much for your videos, it really does help out a lot. I am planning on doing a MS of Business, with an emphasis in HR in Australia (preferably Brisbane). I've been going through my options, and I'm down to QUT and UQ. As I see in the video here, apparently QUT is more practical than UQ. What are your opinions on this, or which uni would you go to if you had to choose? Thank you!
Hi Natalia, I love Brisbane. My favourite city for students at the moment - great lifestyle and the city has so much going on! You’re looking at two great unis. Both have strengths, one (UQ) with research strength and reputation, the other with a reputation for strong industry linkages and practical teaching. Both unis are EQUIS accredited, so education quality is strong. For campus life, I’d probably pick UQ. I love the campus and there’s just SO MUCH going on. However, if the academic program at QUT interested me more (eg if the subjects interested me more), I wouldn’t hesitate to choose it over UQ either.
Personally QUT for me, but that’s because I love Brisbane as a city for students and the campus is bigger. Deakin could be a good option if you’re looking for a smaller campus and city, where the pace of life is a little slower, and there is less stress
Which one is better for Computer Science / Information Technology, QUT or Griffith? I am an international student who is thinking of studying in Australia.
Thanks for this video, really helpful, just wanted to ask is there's any kind placements qut offer in business fields after you are done with your studies?
QUT has really great industry linkages and extracurricular opportunities. I’m a fan. More info (though not a lot of detail) here www.qut.edu.au/business/study/real-world-learning
Thanks you for QUT video clip. It helps me a lot to choose which university is good for me. I live in Springfield lakes that is very close to USQ Springfield campus. I am Australian citizen. I want to study civil engineering next year. What do you think QUT or USQ for me? I mean which uni can help me improve my skills and knowledge to be a future civil engineer?
There are a couple of engineering disciplines at Springfield but it’s only a small campus , so depends what you’re looking for in the whole experience. QUT is a really great uni and USQ has its strengths too, so I’d look at them both as whole packages and how they align with what you want overall.
Hello Rob. I'm hesitating on choosing between UQ and QUT architecture in major, and which uni would you recommend? And why? Thanks! I heard that QUT is a more friendly college compared to UQ for the students, and the graduates from QUT in the major of architecture are easier to get employed in architecture firms.
Both good architecture programs. I don't think either one is "more friendly" than the other - there are good and bad people everywhere! It all depends on trying to meet as many people as possible. QUT considered more "real world" and practical, and UQ more research focused as an institution. But in terms of getting a job, you should be able to compare the two universities on compared.edu.au to see how they stack up in that regard.
Hey, Fiona. I eventually enrolled in QUT because, for architecture, UQ is more theory-based while QUT is more practical. Plus, QUT has a legitimate workshop for architecture and related majors to craft their models. Regarding job opportunities, I haven't graduated yet, so I wouldn't know. However, I did hear from a friend who graduated from UQ in architecture. During her interview, the interviewer said she would rather hire someone from QUT than from UQ. For all these reasons, I chose QUT in the end.
Hey rob I'm trying to decide between the University of Queensland (UQ) and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) for my Software Engineering degree, and I'm looking at factors like education quality, support services, and the social scene. When it comes to education, I've heard that UQ is renowned for its strong academic programs, and QUT has a more practical, industry-focused approach. Any insights or experiences from those in the field would be greatly appreciated. However, it's not all about the classroom for me. I'm a pretty outgoing person and want to have a vibrant social life during my university years. Can anyone share their thoughts on the social scene at UQ and QUT? Are there active clubs, student events, and a friendly atmosphere that's conducive to making friends? which university would you recommend?
Hey Rob, im graduating this year and am choosing between a bachelor of nursing for QUT or UQ. I then plan on doing a graduate diploma only available at QUT. I'm a little worried about UQ's workload but it seems to have a better reputation to employers. Which uni would you recommend for my bachelors, and do you know if it affects my ability to gain entry into a diploma at QUT if i do the bachelors at a different uni like UQ?
Nursing is an accredited degree. What that means is that every degree needs to comply with Australian nursing standards for education. As a result, nursing degrees tends to be similar between institutions because they are obliged to cover much of the same content. That’s not to say there aren’t differences, there are certainly differences in terms of facilities, class, delivery class, sizes, student satisfaction and social opportunities, but overall, from an academic point of view, the content being delivered will be similar.
Hi Rob, thanks a lot for this! Was curious as to what the uni looked like from inside. By the way, which would you recommend for Design, QUT, Swinburne or USYD? If the quality of the course is relatively similar, I'd be more inclined towards choosing QUT or Swinburne as the cost factor is much lower.
That really depends on the overall experience you’re looking for. For me personally I’d probably choose QUT for that. But others would love the on campus experience (and prestige) of USYD.
@@ChoosingYourUni Thanks a lot for your reply. While a good on-campus experience matters to some extent, I'm more concerned about skill development and industry exposure.
Honestly, all three unis will offer you that in some way or another. I really like QUT’s industry linkages and design program. Swinburne also has one of Australia’s best work integrated learning set ups, so both those sound like they’d make good choices for you.
You’re welcome.would love it if you checked out my Vlog too: th-cam.com/video/-5ts8calRZ4/w-d-xo.html I’m filming all around Australia as i travel around 😁
Heyy Rob, recently I've been hooked by your youtube channel and I love it. Getting to much details about universities, I think that you could help me in term of finding univerisities perhaps getting recommentdations. I'm interested in Software engineering. Which uni could i look for? uni vibe would be a central point of my decision. also I'm not that rich to spend lot of money for tuition fee and I will have to work.
Then it depends to what extent funding is an issue for you. If you definitely need scholarships you will need to research universities widely and look outside the biggest most reputable unis, where scholarships are the most competitive.
@@ChoosingYourUni Amid the dropping number of admission, is now the best time to apply for uni? Go8 are in hot water bc of dropping international admission. They could give more scholarship to international student in the future. Should I wait a little bit longer to apply, somewhere in the end of 2020?? ex: Swinburne is offering scholarship up to 75%. I'm quiet skeptical about swinburne as in your video, it was quiet and it doesn't a good vibe which contradict to rmit or monash.
QUT has got strong industry connections. I like the look of this degree: www.qut.edu.au/courses/bachelor-of-communication-digital-media and the Masters also looks good. To me, marketing and comms is ALL about digital now. If you do go down this route, let me know (PM me on Instagram) because I know a tonne of good resources you should look into.
That’s a line ball decision for me. Two great unis. Good courses. Good student feedback. And my two favourite student cities, Perth and Brisbane. I would be happy at either tbh. Good choices.
Hello Rob. Thank you very much for sharing to us different videos of Australian Universities. Which one can you suggest if someone want to study MBA and Doctorate Degree among Griffith University,Queensland University,Queensland University of Technology and Australian National University ?
It really depends what you’re hoping to do later. If you’re more interested in research, I’d put ANU and UQ near the top. I also LOVE UQs campus and student life. Asian Business I’d look at Griffith. QUT ranks very well and is well known for its industry linkages. Basically all good choices imo
Hi Rob! Amazing video! I need help. I am international student from India and I want to pursue my master's in Engineering Management in Australia. I have admits from RMIT, UTS, Macquarie and Wollongong. UTS offers a dual degree program that is an MEM+MBA in 2 years and QUT offers a dual degree program in Engineering Management+Project Management in two years. Which of these options do you think I should go for? (In terms of location, job opportunity, internship assistance, etc) Thanks for helping out!
Those UTS and QUT degrees looks pretty good to me as a combination. They’ll be intensive though! I’d also rate the Wollongong and RMIT programs pretty well too 👍
I have got the offers from QUT, UoN and Deakin University. Which university could be the best choice for Architecture? Can I get some suggestions from you?
Please watch this video first, then see if you can be more specific and I can try to help answer your questions. th-cam.com/video/ZcuUhTYc1Jg/w-d-xo.html
All good unis and program imo. If it were me, I'd put QUT and Curtin over the other two just based on location because I love Perth and Brisbane, but the others have positives and strengths with their programs too.
Hey so I've been looking at QUT and UNSW to do my bachelor's in information technology (computer science), I just wanted to hear like which uni would be the best for me and wanted to hear a bit from you about the differences between the two unis. Btw amazing vid, thank you.
Thanks! Both very different unis but good in this area. I can’t answer which is best for you without knowing a lot more about your goals, interests etc but either one is an excellent uni imo
Hey dhane. I’m currently in the same position that you were on. Which one did you end up going to? I’m only choosing for my exchange program though? Thanks
You forget to mention that their business school is one of three universities in Australia that has Triple accreditation along with the university of Sydney and Monash
Hi Toto, that’s a bit too specific for me to comment on. That depends on what you mean by “is it worth it”? Do you mean the uni, the degree, career wise etc?
@@ChoosingYourUni yes sir ☺️ because l am an international student from India and I have to pay high amount of fees. So, lots of confusion about job and research opportunities affter the course. Indeed, still confusing is it good or bad choice . Please advise sir
Both solid unis with strong programs in this area. Similar in many ways: very applied programs. Melbourne and Brisbane are very different as cities, so I'd consider that as a factor.
Hey rob I am stuck between Perth and Brisbane , Edith Cowan and the qut for the public relations course please help me out in qut and how is Brisbane rob sir
I love both Perth and Brisbane. For PR I’d be very tempted by QUT in Brisbane. The uni is very dynamic and practical and industry linked. It’s in the heart of the city so lots of opportunities for internships etc.
Two excellent unis for health care and management too - both will provide you with a strong qualification. I wouldn't view one as being exceptionally above the other. Very different cities (Brisbane vs Adelaide) to consider. Check which campus the degrees are taught on and make sure the location suits you. Look to see if the degree programs include practical experiences and opportunities to build your professional network and leadership skills.
@@ChoosingYourUni that's the issue mate. I got info about uniSA.. but regarding QUT i didn't get satisfactory information from uni website! So I emailed them related to internships, projects etc and the answer that I got from them was to check with my visa counselor 😭😑.. anyways thanks man
Hey Rob I'm an international student from Vietnam planning to study economics in Australia, currently I'm picking between UQT and Griffith, can I have your opinion?
Both great unis, each with its own upsides. QUT has great connections with business and internship programs. Griffith has strengths with international relations and Asian business (if you’re interested in that focus). Gold Coast (Griffith) and Brisbane (QUT) are different student experiences and worth considering the differences and what best suits you.
Hey Rob, would you say QUT or Macquarie University is the best option for a 1 semester (3 months) study abroad experience? I am studying business administration so the academic focus will be management, leadership, entrepreneurship etc. Campus life and the area around the uni is important - especially to ensure an overall good social experience
If it were me I’d choose QUT. Awesome programs in that area, right in the heart of the city of Brisbane, warm weather and close the great travel opportunities up the QLD coast. You might also consider RMIT in Melbourne for that combo of courses and experiences imo
Hi Rob, I'm an international student from Malaysia and I'm going to study bachelor of accounting. But I am hesitating in choosing university (QUT University, Griffith University and Curtin University). Do you have any advice?
All good unis with different strengths. Perth and Brisbane are a bit different as cities, so you might want to consider that as part of your decision. I like QUT for its practical programs and industry linkages. Griffith for its link to Asian business. Curtin for its business school and campus atmosphere. I love Brisbane. It’s probably my favourite city for students right now. Perth is epic as a smaller city with a great outdoor lifestyle, beautiful beaches and more.
Hey Rob, really interested to study Public Relations in Australia and the only one I see is either Griffith or QUT. Are there other options I should look at? What’s the difference between the two? (I will be an international student from Malaysia)
Hi! You should be able to study PR at a lot of universities, you’ll find it “hidden” as a Major inside either a Bachelor of Marketing, Bachelor of Business or Bachelor of Communications degree. That said, QUT is a fantastic program in this space.
Hi, I would like to know in terms of prestige, networking, job opportunities, social life, beauty of the campus and subject matters for Computer Science and Information technology, which is better between UQ and QUT? I am an international student and I got an offer letter by both of the universities. Before I accept the offer letter, I would like to know more before moving to Australia. Thank you and I hope to get a favorably reply from you :D
There's a lot to unpack in all your questions and they are very subjective. Presige --> UQ Networking --> Depends. UQ is considered more prestigious but QUT has excellent industry linkages. Job opportunities --> See "networking". Social life --> UQ is amazing in terms of clubs and societies. Beauty of campus --> Both are really nice, but I prefer UQ. CS/IT --> See compared.edu.au Hope that helps!

A Life That Travels Wow, I really appreciate for spending so much time to answer all my questions above. I really appreciate it. I have looked through the link that you gave me, UQ won with a landslide. Besides, I also heard, that UQ is more theoretical compared to practical. I am actually fine with theory, but I prefer both theory and practical. Do you think UQ suits this?
Is qut majorly focused on engineering as I am interested in pursuing healthcare management at qut and wanted to know will their program include on campus practical work? Are they affiliated with a hospital?
No, not just engineering focused. Lots of strong areas. Have a look at this page - www.qut.edu.au/courses/bachelor-of-nursing All nursing programs require clinical placements in order to complete the degree, so the uni must have relationships with hospitals etc
HEY , we have any option to apply in QUT as an exchange from national institute of fashion tecnology india . So should i apply in QUT as a design student
Two excellent universities. There are probably more finance-related businesses/internships available in Melbourne, but QUT does pride itself on strong industry linkages too and I love Brisbane as a city. Both great choices imo
This is a good uni for students coming from overseas - it's right in the middle of Brisbane and has many areas of strength. There's plenty of accommodation available, though not really many options "on campus" like you find in England. QUT is in the heart of the CBD, so accommodation is very close.... as is everything else!
@@ChoosingYourUni Well, that's another issue I'm afraid - I'm really interested in language and probably business to pair it with, but I'm also seriously considering medicine as a future endeavor and am feeling very torn and unsure!
It exists. However, getting places in childcare is not guaranteed and can be expensive, so be sure to investigate this early when you’re applying for the degree. www.candk.asn.au/qutgardenspoint
Hey Rob! I have a question, I am an Australian citizen but currently pursuing my bachelors in India, I plan to do my masters back in Australia. Is there any selection criteria by the universities in choosing domestic students for postgraduate programs?
Arvind Pantula hey arvind, it differs from uni to uni, course to course honestly you’re better off going to the uni’s website and checking it out. Etc a postgrad program for a physics phd may require having achieved a 2:1 or rather a 5.5/7 gpa equivalent the webpages shouldn’t be too hard to navigate at least it’s fairly simple for my uni
Hi Arvind! I'm also an Australian citizen and got my bachelor's degree in India and wish to do masters in Aus. If we could connect in some way, if you're comfortable that is?
Hi Ho, ahhh that’s a very good question! Both universities are fantastic and I love them both. Have you looked each up on qilt.edu.au? I would start there. Do you also prefer Sydney or Brisbane?
Hi, I know my comment is so late and this video is uploaded over a year ago but I have a question. Do international students have high rate of being employed after master's degree? I am thinking of studying data analytics at QUT from July 2021
Data analytics is a great choice of degree and a field that is in demand from Australian employers. Anything stats, data, analysis related is a good choice. Whether or not you can get a job relates not only to the degree, however. Your other experience is also important, as is how your interests and personality align with a particular business. However, your chances are very good.
@@ChoosingYourUni okay, thank you so much for your quick response! My parents are slightly concerned about my degree but you made it clear that I have a good chance, that’s incredible! Thank you again!
QUT is a fantastic uni. It has exceptional industry linkages and real-world education. It’s also beautiful and situated right next to the Brisbane CBD (so great for part time work and internships). I would personally be happy to do a degree there.
@@ChoosingYourUni brilliant!! I’m most likely going to study at QUT now! Your video and advice helped me to be 100% sure I’d like to study at QUT. Thank you so much.

Thank you for your time and your response is highly appreciated. 🙏💝
Hey Rob, thank you for such a informative video. I have shortlisted 2 universities for masters in project management that is QUT and griffith. I am a bit confused which university to go so could me help out to decide. that would be alot helpful to me. Thank you
Actually I want to have both technical and administrative knowledge. Although I have completed bachelors in mechanical engineering. My aim is to setup my own production house that's why I am upto project management.
Both of these are good universities in this area. Based on what you explain, I would look at what each uni has to offer in terms of: - innovation/entrepreneurship programs and opportunities - leadership programs - industry work placements Griffith has the amazing Griffith Honours College - if you can get into that it would be worth it. QUT has strong industry linkages. Def do some more research on those things - they will help you when starting your own business!
Just because your friend feels that way doesn't mean it's actually true. Every university in Australia has thorough systems and processes in place for assessing students, as well as appeals mechanisms if a student feels they have been mistreated. There are also mechanisms for students to complain, anonymously if required, about other students or staff if they feel they have been mistreated. Discrimination is taken EXTREMELY seriously by the Australian universities. There are legal mechanisms in place to prevent and respond to discrimination. Now that's not to say that your friend hasn't experienced discrimination or racism. Unfortunately Australia is like everywhere else on Earth - you can find narrow-minded, racist fuckwits that belong in a gulag everywhere. But if your friend feels this way, they should definitely complain about the behaviour. It will be investigated and not be tolerated. Our modern society (i.e. post European arrivals) is based 100% on immigration. 30% of people in the major capitals speak a language other than English at home. We're multicultural at our heart, so don't let a few bad apples give the impression that the tree is rotten.
It normally should only take a few weeks but depends on the university. If you’ve applied through an agent they should be able to give you some good advice about timeframes. Otherwise the uni should be able to give you an indication if you applied directly.
I was at a government briefing on future hiring trends and a QUT representative was present arguing how they needed to remove the government student fee cap on courses so they could charge students more and provide an even better service. This man represented an organisation/industry that: - Has consistently raised university fees by 5% every single year while delivering the same service/product. - Is listed as "tax exempt charitable organisations" (dont pay tax and take donations despite making record multi-million profits) by the ATO. - Sit on vast amounts of acres of prime real-estate. - Enjoy vast amounts of government funded support. - Have put an entire generation in a ridiculous amount of debt in return for degrees in many instances even corporate Australia dont really value. - Have their student income basically guaranteed by the countrys taxpayers/state, and who are left to deal with the loans/defaults. And this representative had the gall to suggest Australian Universities needed more money (student debt) to deliver an adequate service...It made my blood boil.
I agree. That's terrible. I wouldn't assume that the representative was officially speaking for QUT on this issue, but I agree that subsidised higher education is a critical element of civilised society. Universities are at risk of becoming obsolete if they charge huge fees for information/knowledge that is accessible for free (in many ways) via the internet. As you rightly point out - what's the value add? Where is the "product/service" evolving? Institutions' commitment to work integrated learning, overseas study opportunities, leadership and employability development will become ever more critical in the years to come imho Just plonking the courses online and charging a slightly lower fee won't cut it when the biggest players (think: Ivy League in the USA) are putting some many of their courses online for free (or almost free).
@@ChoosingYourUni Thank you for your reply, and I agree with your above statements. This occurred a few years ago but the individual did indeed present himself as a Sr QUT employee, which is what me (and others) felt was so infuriating. I feel Australia's Universities have become more about money and status than they are about being educational institutions. They are becoming an expensive and unnecessary middle-man tax, much like we see the insurance industry has become to America's healthcare system. Since when did sharing basic information become so expensive and why? Their greed will eventually see them become the engineers of their own demise.
@@tovsteh "Have put an entire generation in a ridiculous amount of debt in return for degrees in many instances even corporate Australia dont really value." Is that really true? This report says on page 13, that the fulltime employment rate of QUT after 3 years is 97.2%. Higher up are Macquarie with 97.3%, and La Trobe with 97.9%. All of them are more practically oriented. Do you think that those are better? The report: www.qilt.edu.au/docs/default-source/gos-reports/2020-gos-l/2020-gos-l-national-report.pdf Edit: Oh, now I get it. You might find a job, but the salary is lower, right? So you really need a theoretical degree for a good salary.
@@IroAppe The claim of full-time employment is misleading because it does not take into account whether or not students got a job in their field of study (or anything even remotely relevant), if they got a job that which salary is worth the educational investment, or if their degree was of value to the current market at all etc etc. You could come out of QUT with a degree and still end up working full-time at Coles with a student loan: thats not good statistics. I work in recruitment, and business, arts and social sciences degrees are basically perceived as useless/insignificant. Universities market themselves as "the gatekeepers" (a necessity to enter the job market) whereas the majority of people we see, particularly in tech, are self-educated/trained/took on opportunities offered within a business as they grew in their roles. In addition, Universities have consistently been increasing their tuition fees while at the same time no offering any additional value, and putting more and more content for online consumption. Im not calling getting a degree useless, but im questioning the ethics of Universities becoming businesses (not focused on being educational institutions) that oversell degrees to future generation with no regard for market demand of skillsets and what the increase levels of student debt is doing to generations to come. I have also had personal experiences with QUT where I have been lied to, where they have ignored their own internal policies and process (as stated on their own website by their *finance manager* who also reviewed my case ) and had to take my cases to the ombudsman (!) to receive any just treatment and remind them of *their own* policies. The level of greed and unethical behaviour was despicable.
@@tovsteh Alright, yes, that's what I got from the many reviews about Australian Universities. That they are basically pure businesses now, trying to get as much money from us students as possible while saving where they can. But I still want (have) to study in Australia, so I have to swallow one pill. Not sure which one yet. I am currently studying IT in Germany and am planning to get a master degree in Australia, to find a job there afterwards.
Literally every one of these videos is the same. You could just say you were at a different uni each time and no one would notice. This channel is an ultimate how to bs for 12 minutes tutorial channel.
Well picked up. I’m glad you picked up on the similar feel and formatting. A consistent format is important if people are to “compare” unis. The concept behind these reviews is having a consistent presentation of all of the unis in Australia to help them choose, without feeling like it’s marketing content put out by the u I itself. I’ve done 32 reviews (give or take) of 40 Oz unis. I’d call that useful for most people making a choice. Glad you picked up on my ability to bs for 12 mins straight too. It took me decades to perfect that skill and you’re the first person to compliment me on it, so thanks! 🙏
A Life That Travels for what it’s worth I really appreciate these videos, and they’re amazing - especially for students like me deciding on our next step after high school. The guy you replied to is hating for no reason.

Thank youu!
You’re welcome!
It’s a great choice for an exchange program!
I know Sheffield Hallam - that’s a good uni too. I think you’ll enjoy Queensland (it’s much warmer and sunnier than Sheffield 🤣)!
Thank you Rob. Really informative. I was looking for such bonafide source.
You’re welcome Himanka. Please tell someone about my channel - that would really help me :)
Great uni. Good choice.
how r u going now 🤔🤔
I studied international bussiness and information managemet in 1996, it was short time course but still I have green dream and pink memories with Brisbane and QUT. I LOVE all.
Love it!
how is the marketing or management courses in qut?
Hello Rob, great watching your this video series, its very informative. Thanks for your fantastic work. Depending on different circumstances can you take interview of international students regarding their experience? It may help international students a lot.
Thanks 🙏
I don’t really have a method for choosing interviewees on campus. I just keep an eye out for people who look friendly and relaxed 😎
Maybe in future I could do a series specifically for international students but for now I’m keeping it really broad so it helps everyone.
Hope you can do a qut kelvin grove campus review.
Yeah, I hope to get out there on one of my next trips to Brisbane.
@@ChoosingYourUni How can i get placement in QUT. What are the requirements?
Depends degree by degree. You’ll need to contact the relevant faculty for info.
@@ChoosingYourUni Thanks. I really appreciate. You're very helpful Indeed😃

Never to early and never too late. No pressure. Life is long!
Hi Rob :) I'm stuck between QUT and Griffith to study nursing, any advice? Anyways I love your videos! Very helpful
Griffith has the top nursing and midwifery program in Australia. Number 2 in the world. Gold Coast campus is great and right next to the very modern hospital. Plus great lifestyle on the Gold Coast!
Great video Bob!! Passion for Educación.
Thanks Doris :)
Have a great day
is qut a good choice for computer science?? i'm stuck between Griffith and QUT
Personally, QUT for me, but look into the detail of the two programs so see if one has some electives or specialisations that interest you most.
I NEED HELP: If I’m interested in media (interactive and visual), games, animation, is QUT the best? Or is Griffith University or RMIT better? (Or any others)

Either is a good choice depending on what you’re looking for 👍👍👍
Between QUT, Curtin and Griffith which is better for masters of healthcare management in terms of practiciums and internships
Sorry, that’s too specific for my current knowledge without researching it
oh wow you’re down in Brisbane huh? awesome, qut is absolutely fabulous
Been and gone my friend! Was there about 2 weeks ago!
Thank you! The video is very informative.
Glad it could help in some way!
Hi Rob. Looking to study business. Deciding between QUT and Griffith Nathan Campus. Any recommendation?
Nice Video, very helpful!
Glad to hear that! 👍
Hey Rob! I really appreciate the good work you've been doing , this video helped me apply to QUT for my Master's in IT. I'm waiting for their reply and if everything goes well I'll be here in 2021.
Hi Ashwin, that’s really fantastic to hear mate! Got my fingers crossed for you 🤞🤞🤞
Very good choice of uni and program 👍
Thank you!
Hi Natalia,
I love Brisbane.
I am applying for masters in electrical engineering but I'm confused between Deakin university, geelong and qut university, what's your thoughts?
Personally QUT for me, but that’s because I love Brisbane as a city for students and the campus is bigger. Deakin could be a good option if you’re looking for a smaller campus and city, where the pace of life is a little slower, and there is less stress
for phd nursing abut oncology what the best between QYT and University of Sydney?
Specifically for oncology, I'm not sure. Both nursing programs are well reputed though.
Which one is better for Computer Science / Information Technology, QUT or Griffith? I am an international student who is thinking of studying in Australia.
Two great unis, but I'd put QUT ahead on that tbh imo
Hey which uni did u join and do u think it's good? How is the job opportunities after the course?
@@roychang723 Thanks a lot for your reply.
Hi rob i really need help for choosing university where i can apply for B. Of Business (int. Business) major, QUT, UQ or JCU?
All three have that sort of program.
Hey, I wanna do a bachelors of computer science at either UQ or QUT. I just can't decide on which one.
I really like both these unis. UQ has excellent research and QUT prides itself on being very connected to industry and "real world" experience.
QUT over UQ on the degree side, UQ over QUT for the rest.
However, these are both awesome unis. I’d seriously consider studying at either.
thank you @@ChoosingYourUni
Hi Rob! I’m stuck between UQ and QUT to study a Bachelors of Law and Bachelors of Business (or Economics at UQ), any advice?
Hi Shrek,
Can you PM me on IG @alifethattravels ?
Happy to chat but have more questions for you and that’s easier on IG.
Hey Rob… what do you suggest QUT or Griffith? For Master of Public health? Confused between the two please guide
Ohhh, two very good programs. QUT if you want to be in Brisbane, but Griffith if you want to be on the Gold Coast.

Hi Steven, are you a local student or from overseas?
@@ChoosingYourUni HI I"m oversea student and I'm looking forward to study next year.
Hi Rob can you share information about marketing and communications programs by the uni?
QUT has got strong industry connections. I like the look of this degree: www.qut.edu.au/courses/bachelor-of-communication-digital-media and the Masters also looks good.

Two excellent unis for health care and management too - both will provide you with a strong qualification. I wouldn't view one as being exceptionally above the other. Hey Rob I'm an international student from Vietnam planning to study economics in Australia, currently I'm picking between UQT and Griffith, can I have your opinion?
Both great unis, each with its own upsides. QUT has great connections with business and internship programs. Gold Coast (Griffith) and Brisbane (QUT) are different student experiences and worth considering the differences and what best suits you.

You might also consider RMIT in Melbourne for that combo of courses and experiences imo

That said, QUT is a fantastic program in this space.

@@ChoosingYourUnia little update from studying at QUT… I got an offer from a Tax and Financial advisory company in brisbane!! QUT does offer a lot of opportunities to develop human networks with employers and companies, I’m very happy with what I experienced with QUT.
I love QUT and I'm looking forward for someone who could help me to get there after year 12 so I would kindly ask if you can help mi in some ways. Thank you for time.🙏❤️
What help do you need Rex?
@@ChoosingYourUni Actually this is my dad's TH-cam and my name is Esther and you can address me as Esther. Thank you for your reply. I am currently doing my year 12 here in PNG, Port Moresby and I would like you to help me know more about the requirements of QUT or any ways in which I could do to get an opportunity to attend QUT. Thank you for your time and your response is highly appreciated. 🙏💝
You’ll find all the admission requirements for different degrees on the QUT website Esther 👍
@@ChoosingYourUni Thank you so much Rob I'll get to that right. Once again thank you very much.💝🙏
🙌🙌🙌
How is this university for computer science?
I’d study IT there 👍
@@ChoosingYourUni would you study IT here or UQ?
How many foreign students
QUT is ~15% international students.
How's the business school?
Excellent business school, triple accredited. Prides itself on practical, real-world teaching.
Sir i need you help....
Okay, go for it.
Hey Rob, thank you for such a informative video. I have shortlisted 2 universities for masters in project management that is QUT and griffith. I am a bit confused which university to go so could me help out to decide. that would be alot helpful to me. Thank you
Sure. Both good unis in this area.
What are you hoping to work in?
What are your interests outside of that academic area?
Actually I want to have both technical and administrative knowledge. Although I have completed bachelors in mechanical engineering. My aim is to setup my own production house that's why I am upto project management.
Both of these are good universities in this area.
Based on what you explain, I would look at what each uni has to offer in terms of:
- innovation/entrepreneurship programs and opportunities
- leadership programs
- industry work placements
Griffith has the amazing Griffith Honours College - if you can get into that it would be worth it.
QUT has strong industry linkages.
Def do some more research on those things - they will help you when starting your own business!
Visa success rate of this university?
Visas are for individuals, not universities. Success has nothing to do with the uni.
I will be there by 2027
Good for you!
One of my friends told they are very discriminative to Asians and fails them, with no reason
We're multicultural at our heart, so don't let a few bad apples give the impression that the tree is rotten.
is a good UT

Bachelor's in ChildCare?
What about it?
@@ChoosingYourUni How long University takes for offer letter?
In maximum
It normally should only take a few weeks but depends on the university. If you’ve applied through an agent they should be able to give you some good advice about timeframes. Otherwise the uni should be able to give you an indication if you applied directly.
@@ChoosingYourUni It has already been a month.I have applied in QUT
I was at a government briefing on future hiring trends and a QUT representative was present arguing how they needed to remove the government student fee cap on courses so they could charge students more and provide an even better service. This man represented an organisation/industry that:
- Has consistently raised university fees by 5% every single year while delivering the same service/product.
Institutions' commitment to work integrated learning, overseas study opportunities, leadership and employability development will become ever more critical in the years to come imho
Just plonking the courses online and charging a slightly lower fee won't cut it when the biggest players (think: Ivy League in the USA) are putting some many of their courses online for free (or almost free).
@@tovsteh "Have put an entire generation in a ridiculous amount of debt in return for degrees in many instances even corporate Australia dont really value."
Is that really true? This report says on page 13, that the fulltime employment rate of QUT after 3 years is 97.2%. Higher up are Macquarie with 97.3%, and La Trobe with 97.9%. All of them are more practically oriented. Do you think that those are better?
The report: www.qilt.edu.au/docs/default-source/gos-reports/2020-gos-l/2020-gos-l-national-report.pdf
Edit: Oh, now I get it.
And then Covid said hi 😂
Yes it did! Fortunately things are slowly getting back to normal. Let’s hope it stays that way!
