Natural fats have some (tiny) amount of trans-fats, don't they? Could it be more like omega-6, in that you need some, but too much is bad?

@Dimitry Volfson - The trans fat in nature is called CLA and it is very healthy. Grass fed beef is higher in CLA and is treasured for it. It is different from the trans fat in hydrogenated products.

I enjoy your videos. You don't talk fast plus you talk clearly and I find the videos relaxing and understandable. Over the last 4 weeks I have transitioned into low carb and I doubt I'd ever go back to carbs this time. I'm 68 and the last 6 months I put on about 25 pounds, 20 of which I've already lost. I've been doing mostly OMAD since Sept 12, 2017 with 4 weeks of recent ADF. LC is definitely a good addition to my IF lifestyle. I hate to think of what all the fruit was doing to me. I was addicted to it, and it wasn't worth all the headache it put into my life.

Have met my weight loss goal - 30 lbs. over a few months on keto. Love nuts, butter, mayo, heavy cream, coconut cream, only eat seafood for animal protein, avocados, lots of veggies, eggs, dark chocolate, no sugar of any kind, no processed foods, no more grains or high starchy foods, luckily don’t like alcohol at all. This is the easiest food plan for me so far. I do intermittent fasting, too, because I’m just not hungry…and no cravings. I love macadamia nuts but they are too pricey. But love walnuts. I happen love raw cashews. I add my own salt and spray oil. BUT it has not interfered with my weight loss. Peanut butter is my joy…sugar fee from TJ’s. I Just always make sure I’m under 50 carbs a day. TY Dr. Ekberg. I send all my friends to you. I feel so light and slim and have no problem sticking with this actually yummy food plan.

Thank you for all of the valuable information on this and your other videos. Your explanation of HGH vs. insulin production opened my eyes to see a better way of eating. Thank you for sharing the nutritional numbers of the various fats in this video. I have crohns disease and have been super low carb for years on the Specific Carbohydrate Diet. I would like to enter into ketosis, and I'm not sure how to obtain that state. My bowel tolerates very little fiber. I usually have 1 serving of vegetables or an avocado per day. I can serve my squash with 2-3 T. of butter or coconut oil. I do put a T. of butter on my eggs. I do mix butter with a small amount of honey to make a fat bomb. My target carbs are 50 grams per day. But I struggle to reach my 80% calories of fat without the fat bombs. What do you suggest?

Dr. Ekberg, again you have provided excellent info, but more than that, you’ve helped to educate your listeners. In regards to nuts, haven’t heard you state anything about Brazil nuts which are wry popular in the south where I am from. I had a bout with diabetes where my A1C was 7.5, after changing to Keto I was able to bring it down to 5.5, and when speaking to my dietitian, she told me that they recommend no more than 3 Brazil nuts a day because of possible selenium toxicity. Is that true?

Used to watch Dr Berg but he is not a doctor & he is out for a buck. The others including this Doctor of Holistic medicine are excellent . Dr Ekberg is the best. He is informative without his hand out. He gives reason why not to each certain foods in detail.

Sour cream if made properly from cream always 30% of fats (you take the cream from milk that is getting formed on the top of the milk, put it separately from the milk and wait about 2-3 days and that is a sour cream)

All of your videos are extremely informative. Thank you. I would like to know what strategy you would suggest for me. I have had a total thyroidectomy, take synthroid daily, but still fatigued, gaining weight and losing hair. Just started carnivore diet and intermittent fasting June 1st, 2019 and I'm pretty happy with it so far. Are there any supplements that you think will help, especially with the hair loss?

Should every meal be balanced to those fat/protein/carb macros or could it be on a daily basis. Like is it ok to have mostly fats & protein (eggs & bacon) for breakfast then mostly protein & carbs for lunch (salad & salmon), etc. as long as by the end of the day my macros balance out?

I had hoped that you would have a healthy oil recipe for making mayonnaise and hollandaise sauce in your description notes.
When you first started you were kind of geeky, but now you've become cool. I'm not sure whether it's my perception or whether you really have become cool. 🤔
If you haven't become cool then maybe I have a problem. 🙃

Here is a link to Amazon which is expensive, but will let you see the package. amzn.to/2sSmCaM. (this is a sponsored link to Amazon, so I make money if you buy from it without cost to you)

Hi Dr. Sten, Thanks for your videos. For this one, Could you explain the weight or volume of each of the food that contains weights of fat, protein, and carb you displayed in green? For example, for the egg, it contains 10g fat, 12g protein, and 0.7g carb. Are these weights from say, one medium-sized egg, or 100g of the egg? Similar question for sour cream, how much cream contains 20g fat, 2g protein, and 3.5 carbs. Thanks,

Veronique Dusabe I also want to know why when fasting specially women get insomnia. I’ve asked in lots of channels and few have answered. The answer is that the body is healing and there for body doesn’t need to sleep more. But my thought of thinking is that sleeping is very restorative so it doesn’t make sense. I personally think that the body is receiving diet change as a threat to survival. So maybe back off and ease into whatever you’re doing. I don’t know 🤷🏼‍♀️. Anyone else thinks or knows something?

It may be because of eating too little carbohydrates. Your body needs complex carbohydrates (not simple sugar) to make melatonin, so you can sleep soundly at night and wake fresh and ready the next day. Eat small amounts of carbohydrates, and eat them towards the end of the day, to coincide with your bedtime. Another fun fact: You need carbohydrates to make tears.

humanfamilymember I’ve done intermittent fasting while eating carbs but not enough calories and suffered severe insomnia. Now I do healthy Keto, intermittent fasting but high calories and sleep like a babe. Maybe some people need carbs but I’m doing so much better now. I also don’t want to cry 😭. 😝
