  • I am back once again to show everyone what I acquired at the January Dallas area model train show it’s something I thought never existed and also something that’s very rare and very possible to find when you try to find one it’s a hexagon key that unlocks both Raco Signal Locks and unscrews Raco Mechanical Crossing Bells I first saw the key at the fall show back in 2023 I am fortunate that it was still for sale by the same vendor I did actually have to bring my lock to confirm if it indeed fitted on the nut sure enough it did and surprisingly the untwisted for the first time with no signs of rust or difficulty to undo whatsoever I do not know the true origins of this or how many of them were made and why they were discontinued in the first place I’m just very fortunate that I was able to find an actual key I hope to do more videos of my crossing bell collection if anyone would like to see my crossing bells in action comment down blue I am also open for video suggestions I hope everyone enjoys this brief overview video my next video will be out on the week of February 20 more exciting videos are to come this year thanks for watching and stay tuned for more Railroad entertainment

Hate to break it to you, but they made literally millions of these locks. Safetran, RACO, WRRS, and other companies made a variation of this lock. They are a dime a dozen. That hex key is the end of a broken railroad terminal wrench with a ring welded on it to put on a keychain. They are everywhere and still in use today.

@@Nickelplateroad762 there was actually one of those special triangle key locks for sale at the train show where I got this custom-made key for my switch lock in this video this is actually not a key this is a ratchet turned into a home built key
